Mekong Dolphin Hotel is a 3-star boutique hotel in Kratié, Cambodia, set on Preah Soramarith Street facing the Mekong River. The property offers unfussy rooms, some with private balconies, along with an on-site restaurant and a gym for guests staying in this riverside town.
Rooms look out over the Mekong, and several reviewers mention watching the sunset or spotting the river from their balcony. The hotel suits travellers who want a straightforward base for exploring the river and nearby dolphin-watching activities rather than a high-end resort experience.
Facilities are basic but cover the essentials: a restaurant on site, a gym, and rooms with balconies and river views. It works well for short stays centred on the river and the surrounding area of Kratié.

Good to know
Room prices run around $30-35 per room. The hotel is located on a busy main street, which can bring some traffic noise. The attached restaurant offers a limited menu.
I visited Kratie two weeks ago and stayed in this hotel. I really do not understand the fuss and negative reviews on this property, as I found this hotel to be one of the best in this area! I had an enjoyable and relaxing stay... the room was well appointed, opulent and problems free. The view of Mekong Rive from my balcony was spectacular and breathtaking! Unfortunately I had to cut my stay short due to a bad food poisoning (I had a seafood dinner outside) it was unbearable, however I was made to feel at ease as I was well looked after by one of its Front Desk employees,Mr. Veasna. He was so very helpful, humble and knowledgeable. He assisted me to arrange for a car to take me back to Phnom Penh. He even texted me if I was OK and needed any further assistance! He is such a great employee, I'm very grateful for his kindness and assistance. I cannot thank him enough, but thank you Mr. Veasna! He trulyis the ambassador to Mekong Dolphin Hotel! Hope the hotel management is looking after him well. I'm already looking forward to going back to amazing Kratie and to stay in this hotel. Without any doubts, if you were going for a trip to Kratie, this hotel is definitely for you! Kratie is a hidden gem! There are lots of interesting activities that both domestic and foreign tourists can do here. What made Kratie so special, apart from its amazing natures, the delicious foods, are the local people! They are super friendly, hospitable and genuinely with big hearts!
This is right on the main drag which can be noisy. However the view of the river is perfect. The hotel is tired... needs a face lift. the restaurant attached serves limited menu offerings.
(Mekong kayak discovery) Phearom genuinely a thoughtful , considerate and caring guy born and bred on the Mekong with great knowledge of the birds and a very experienced kayaker . Navigated the Mekong like an expert and had the ability to actually find the dolphins. We rested and chatted on a lovely sand bank, swam, had snacks, fed fish and shared stories.even when the current got tough he towed us for a bit , really was an unforgettable experience …
The bed is not comfortable for me, it can move quickly and the stuff inside the room is a bit old. Space is big enough and the location is great for sunset view.
Basic room, beds are just okay bit hard. Room has mini refrigerator nice. Balcony nice view. Bathroom okay has tube. So far few cockroaches and there is no pool. For 35$ a night it’s okay.
