I really enjoyed my stay at Yellow Star Kampot. The place has such a chill vibe. It feels super relaxing with all the plants around and it really gives you that close to nature feeling. The food was really good and surprisingly affordable. I liked it a lot. The staff at the reception were super kind and helpful so everything felt easy and smooth during my stay. I also loved their pets. They were super friendly and honestly made the place feel more homey.
I had a really nice experience and I would definitely come back again if I am in Kampot.
Its a cute Hostel with a really nice Pool and bar. It could need some maintenance though as the toilet Seat was completely loose as was the Pool ladder.
If you arent a heavy sleeper the dogs might keep you up at night. They are very cute but also quite loud during the night (continious barking).
Its a Bit far from town but the tuktuk IS only about 4-5k riel. The trainstation is Just around the corner which Makes it very comfortable of you leave by train.
We had a wonderful stay at this hostel during our trip as a couple in October and November. Our fan room was very comfortable, and even without air-conditioning we slept great each night. The rooms are also extremely affordable, offering excellent value for the quality and comfort. In fact, we enjoyed our first three nights so much that we decided to extend our stay for an additional two nights!
The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming — every member of the staff and volunteers we met was friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. The pool was also the perfect temperature, making it an ideal escape from the heat and a refreshing way to unwind each day.
One of the highlights of our stay was the food. We ended up eating here multiple times because every meal was fresh and delicious. A special shout-out to the fish amok — it was by far the best we’ve had yet!
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and memorable stay. We would absolutely return.
What a hostel! Stayed 5 days, good cocktails, nice clean pool, chess, and pool table. Staff were all tops. 5 mins walk to train station. Hired mopeds from here and went to Bokor.

The room is good for the price.
Just in our fan room they was no hot water possible (just one faucet)
And the mattress was super hard
