Hotels near Holy Crab

Holy Crab sits on Kep's busy seafront street, a seafood restaurant with aesthetic decor that draws both tourists and repeat visitors. The menu centers on crab dishes prepared several ways—amok, in green pepper sauce, in tamarind sauce, fried with pepper—alongside grilled squid, prawns, and other catches. The restaurant claims to serve MSG-free food and also makes fresh juices, with lime and mint mentioned as worth trying.

Visitors consistently praise the quality and freshness of the seafood. Crab amok appears repeatedly in reviews as a standout dish, and the crab fried with pepper draws particular mention for how the meat holds up and blends with the sauce. Grilled squid with lemon Kampot pepper sauce also receives strong endorsement. Some diners compare it favorably to other seafood restaurants in the area and report never being disappointed. However, portions are occasionally noted as modest for the price, and cooking times can be longer than expected. Opinions on certain dishes diverge—the crab in green pepper sauce and tamarind sauce drew mixed reactions, with some finding the sauces too light or bland.

The restaurant opens at 8:30 AM and stays open until 10:30 PM daily except Sunday. Its seaside location means it can be noisy and busy. If you are serious about fresh seafood and don't mind paying above-budget prices for it, this place consistently delivers. Go early or late if you prefer a quieter meal, or embrace the atmosphere if you want the full seaside dining experience.
