Quiet cozy hotel not far from Old Market n Pub street. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Our first room had issues with the AC, when they couldn't fix it, they promptly moved us to a better room.
Room itself is serviceable. Don't expect 5 star luxury for a 3 star price. U get a comfy bed, working hot water shower and a few other amenities.
Breakfast is good. They have a rotation of carbs (fried rice/noodles/potatoes), veggies, fruits, juices, and a egg station. More than sufficient to get you loaded up before you head out.
The staff are definitely the stand out stars. From reception to breakfast staff, they seek to please and always greet you whenever you pass by. 5 star hospitality for sure.
Highly recommended if you're looking for a quiet room but don't want to be too far from town, and don't mind skimping on a few luxuries.
We had such a great experience at Residence Wat Damnak. The room was lovely, with a balcony and beautiful décor. Although we had a simpler room for the first night, they moved us to a nicer room afterwards. Just be prepared to climb the stairs, as there is no lift.
The breakfast was nice, with fruit, steamed or fried vegetables, noodles or rice, and an egg station. There are also two pools available, they provide drinking water, and the hotel is very well located in the centre.
All the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We had a wonderful time — thank you!
Had such a good stay here. Spent 4 fabulous nights here and cannot recommend it enough. The staff are so attentive, accommodating and helpful it’s amazing. Our room had a view right over the pool from the balcony and was just across from the breakfast area. We arrived in late and were greeted with cool towels and orange juice at reception while checking in which was a really nice touch.
If you're French or were promised something many years ago, you might not like it here. For everyone else, this is such a gem of a hotel. All the staff are hospitality students and take their work very seriously. Most everyone speaks very good English, and is more than happy to help with rentals, tours, recommendations, etc.
The rooms aren't perfect - they have some rough edges. But for this price point they well exceed expectation. They have AC, beer/coke/mineral water, fridge, well equipped bathroom, balconies... Good wifi for video calls / remote work.
There are 2 pools that are actually deep-ish (5ft / 152cm). Restaurant on site serves excellent food and cocktails for a good price.
The only thing I had an "issue" with was with the tuktuk drivers arranged by the hotel. They took me to the wrong place or ~5km from my destination, asked for 3x the amount of money I was quoted, and couldn't be bothered to pick me up later in the day. I don't think this reflects the hotel at all, but be wary when getting a ride from the front desk.
Really awesome little hotel! We loved the location, a little alleyway off of a bigger road, across the water away from pub street. The staff were phenomenal. So helpful and sweet and courteous. They made us little breakfast boxes that were ready at 4 am for our sunrise tour that morning.
They let us check in early and the pools were great! Very communicative on Airbnb and WhatsApp too. Highly recommend!
