Pushy owner, daggy room but functional, room 2, the old plastic coated firmer bed.
Is ok as far as budget room but we found newer brighter room less than 1 km south, for less.
Booking.com states a cheaper price, but owner declared this is incorrect as Some one else has used his email. This is what prompted me to look further, as I am over Falang tax.
Avoid the cafe opposite the boat ramp, North corner as he has Falang tax also. Advertises one price on the wall, but when you pay, you pay 50% more than this.
Hotel owner very friendly picked us up off the bus from Phmon Pehn, however his trips are over priced he leads you to believe a tour is only option for the island when you can actually pay $3 for the local shuttle boat then hire a bicycle or moto the other side for cheaper. Times and information not clear then hes hard to get hold of, his colleagues are not very helpful in his absence mainly the language barrier, or they say wait for the owner which isn't practical when there only a day. The room was basic as expected in Kratie a small local town, bit dirty but acceptable. A lot of insects locus, not sure this could be helped but expect to catch many in your room! Check shoes before leaving this didn't bother us but may do some people. VIP mini bus was an experience I don't know if other bookings would be better but it was a long 7 hours.
I went to this hotel for the view, I booked a room with river view but that not what I got.hotel in general dirty, in my room 2 fans only 1worked, bathroom with mould, very old equipment, TV doesn't really work.
Only position point was the owner is been helpful for my bus ticket.
Completely reasonable. $7 a night for a double room on the river front. The owner is real nice. Saw Irrawaddy dolphins, took a mini van to Phnom Penh. Don't recommend the mini van, way too overcrowded.
No trash basket or toilet paper in room. Wi-Fi is barely any use and continuously goes down. Ads for condoms are posted all in the room. Local cambodians showed up at 1am drunk and partied with very loud music on the balcony and in their room... $7 fan -- $13 AC
Walk 2 streets south to the actual bus station to save money on your onward travel.
