I agree with all the other reviews this is an absolutely amazing place to stay in Siem Reap, and so close to everything. Also absolutely wonderful family that are warm and welcoming. But unfortunately we did have an issue during our stay. We had no HOT water pressure from the shower. It trickled out and was luke warm at best. Plenty of great pressure when the mixer was turned to cold water. Our room was on the 2nd floor (up 2 flights of stairs) if that made a difference at all. We brought up the issue twice with the wife thinking they must have turned the hot water off somewhere. That’s how bad it was. After raising the problem a 2nd time they sent a staff member up who couldn’t speak English to check out our problem. I thought that strange that the owner/wife didn’t want to check it for themselves. The staff member played with the taps for approximately 5 mins then left. We never got an answer or response from the owner and they never enquired if the issue had been fixed. As we were only staying 2 nights, we just had to have cold showers to have any decent water pressure. If the hot water pressure from the shower head had been stronger & just a tad warmer our stay would have been perfect.

Excellent! A really wonderful stay in Siem Reap. I would give this more stars if I could. The family are wonderful hosts and go above and beyond. I would recommend this accommodation to everyone. This is the best AirBnB I have stayed at in a long time. Really excellent bed too! The fixtures and fittings are all to a very high quality. Thank you for a really wonderful few days!

+Very friendly staff +Very clean +Has stove and refrigerator, and electricity can be left on when you aren't there -small space -pagoda next door is very loud from early morning to late afternoon (chanting over PA speakers) -bathroom lacks privacy if you aren't staying alone Overall, if the kitchenette is important to you, this may be worthwhile, but from my understanding you can rent nicer rooms (with no kitchenette) in the same neighborhood for the same price.

Can’t be happier with the stay! ❤️ This is a perfect blend of local family hospitality and hotel-quality amenities. Rooms are clean, large, and quiet. Great A/C and big, beautiful hot shower 🚿. They’ve got excellent WiFi 🛜 as the owner clearly cares about previous reviews and worked to get the issue resolved. They checked with me soon after I checked in. Booked for one night and decided to extend for another three. Will definitely stay here again next time in Siem Reap!

Cafés & bakeries 120 m 2 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

The muffin man, Siem Reap is 120 m north of MarvelInn Siem Reap — about 2 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from MarvelInn Siem Reap are Dialogue (195 m) and The Bean Embassy Roastery & Specialty Coffee (435 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

A café on Wat Bo Road offering a wide selection of muffins, cakes and cheesecakes alongside a proper breakfast and lunch menu that includes salads, toasties and vegetable-based dishes. Coffee is made in an Australian style, and matcha and other drinks are also on offer. The interior is described as modern and calm, suited to sitting in for a while rather than a quick takeaway stop.

Visitors consistently mention the quality and freshness of the baked goods, with muffins, brownies and cheesecakes coming up again and again as standouts, alongside savoury options like lentil salad, vegetable stacks and chickpea fritters that cater well to vegetarian and vegan diets. The coffee draws particular praise for its quality. Portion sizes are called generous and prices reasonable, and staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive. No notable complaints or caveats appear in the reviews, and several visitors mention returning multiple times during their stay.

Open daily from 7am to 10pm, it works equally well for an early breakfast, a working lunch or a dessert stop after dinner, as one visitor used it. The range of vegetarian and vegan dishes makes it a reliable option for travellers with dietary preferences, while the mix of light meals and pastries suits anyone wanting more than just coffee. Given its popularity, arriving outside peak breakfast or lunch hours may mean an easier time finding a seat.

Dialogue

Cafés & bakeries 195 m 2 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

Dialogue is 195 m north-east of MarvelInn Siem Reap — about 2 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from MarvelInn Siem Reap are The muffin man, Siem Reap (120 m) and The Bean Embassy Roastery & Specialty Coffee (435 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Dialogue is a cafe on Street 27 in Siem Reap with both indoor and rooftop seating. The menu mixes western and Asian cuisines, anchored by a strong coffee program. Visitors report the espresso and lattes are among the best in town. The kitchen turns out standout dishes like fried rice and tenderloins, though some guests found other items unremarkable. Breakfast options include variations on eggs — one visitor had English muffin with poached eggs, hollandaise and bacon — though the cafe does not offer a full traditional English breakfast.

Staff are consistently praised as helpful and friendly, though there is a notable caveat. One guest mentioned that despite requesting it multiple times, their dishes arrived with bean sprouts despite a stated allergy, which raised concern for anyone with dietary restrictions or allergies. The kitchen's attention to special requests appears inconsistent. On the upside, visitors note the carbonara is rich and satisfying if you enjoy heavy sauces, though it may not suit lighter preferences.

The rooftop setting is described as chill and atmospheric, with indoor seating available too. Dialogue opens daily at 7 AM and stays open until midnight (closed Sundays), making it accessible for breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch or evening visits. Happy hour pricing makes it affordable. The location sits walking distance from Pub Street, though the daytime frontage can be hard to spot from the street — it sits on the corner of Street 26 and Wat Bo Road. This works well for anyone after reliable coffee and a casual meal, though diners with food allergies should verify orders carefully with staff.

Bars 218 m 3 min walk 4.6/5 on Google

Laundry Bar is 218 m north of MarvelInn Siem Reap — about 3 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from MarvelInn Siem Reap are Barcode Bar Siem Reap (375 m) and Ambar Cocktails & Karaoke Bar (472 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Laundry Bar is a casual bar on Street 26 in Siem Reap with pool tables, a counter serving craft beers and cocktails, and a simple food menu. The space has the feel of a neighbourhood drinking spot rather than a tourist venue, though it draws visitors from across the world. It opens from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily and is known particularly for Wednesday nights, when open-mic performances bring live music to the bar.

Visitors consistently praise the social atmosphere and the mix of people you can meet there—solo travellers often mention it as an easy place to strike up conversations with expats and locals. Pool games are a draw, and those who attend Wednesday's open-mic night tend to be enthusiastic about the music and talent on display. Reviewers highlight the craft beer selection and cocktail quality. One note: some visitors report limited drink variety and have found the venue's responsiveness to orders inconsistent on quieter nights. Non-drinkers may find the mocktail selection thin.

The bar suits anyone looking for a low-key evening with other travellers and a chance to play pool or listen to live music. Wednesday is the night to go if you want a fuller room and live performances. Arrive after 4 p.m. It works best if you're prepared to order drinks readily and engage with the crowd; it is less ideal if you prefer a quieter table experience or need a wide range of non-alcoholic options.

Old Market Bridge

Sights 233 m 3 min walk 4.4/5 on Google

Old Market Bridge is 233 m north-west of MarvelInn Siem Reap — about 3 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from MarvelInn Siem Reap are Pub Street (436 m) and The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor (622 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

This pedestrian bridge stands at the heart of Siem Reap's riverfront district, adjacent to the Old Market and offering direct access to the surrounding riverbank. The bridge itself is modest in structure but serves as a hub for the evening economy—restaurants, food stalls, and small shops line the water's edge, and the area is lit in the evenings. From the bridge you can see neighboring structures including an art bridge nearby, and the wider riverside promenade allows for a walking loop through the commercial quarter.

Visitors consistently highlight the bridge as an evening destination rather than a daytime sight. The riverside atmosphere at night draws particular praise, with the decorative lighting and restaurant activity creating what guests describe as lively surroundings. The food stalls serve local street dishes and fresh produce, though multiple visitors note that bargaining skill is expected if you plan to purchase. A practical caveat appears in several reviews: the bridge handles vehicle traffic, so caution is needed when walking, particularly if focusing on photographs.

The bridge suits anyone exploring downtown Siem Reap in the evening or hunting for local food experiences. It's open around the clock, so there's no timing restriction, though the atmosphere is most active after dark. The location is central enough that most visitors exploring the city center will encounter it organically. The nearby Old Market offers conventional shopping but requires negotiation; the bridge and riverside are better for casual browsing and eating without the same pressure to transact.

Kulen Elephant Forest

Parks & nature 256 m 3 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

Kulen Elephant Forest is 256 m north-east of MarvelInn Siem Reap — about 3 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “parks & nature”.

The next two places under “parks & nature” from MarvelInn Siem Reap are Royal Independence Gardens (1.2 km) and Flying Foxes (1.2 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Kulen Elephant Forest is an elephant retirement sanctuary set within a forested park outside Siem Reap, where a small number of elephants live out their later years in a natural setting rather than performing or giving rides. Visitors join a guided tour through the forest, observing and, in many cases, getting close to the elephants as they roam, bathe or feed, with mahouts and staff on hand to explain each animal's background. Lunch is included as part of the day, and transport to and from the centre is arranged for guests.

Reviews are strikingly consistent: guests repeatedly praise the guides by name, describing them as knowledgeable, funny and clearly attached to the elephants, and several mention that the mahouts treat the animals like family. The focus on retirement and rehabilitation rather than entertainment comes up often, as does the sense that the operation supports both the elephants' welfare and the local community. The pacing of the tour is mentioned favourably, with breaks built in, and food is called a highlight rather than an afterthought. The one practical caveat raised is accessibility: the terrain is not well suited to wheelchairs.

The park opens daily from 8am to 6pm, and given the nature of the visit — walking through forest terrain to spend time near the elephants — it works best for travellers who are reasonably mobile and interested in conservation rather than a quick photo stop. Families with older children and couples looking for a slower, more reflective wildlife encounter seem well suited to it, and booking a guided tour rather than turning up independently appears to be the standard way to visit.

MR.LY Gym and Boxing

Sport & fitness 293 m 4 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

MR.LY Gym and Boxing is 293 m south-west of MarvelInn Siem Reap — about 4 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sport & fitness”.

The other place under “sport & fitness” within reach of MarvelInn Siem Reap is Aum Yoga Center, Siem Reap, Cambodia (2.4 km).

MR.LY Gym and Boxing is a Kun Khmer and boxing training facility on the far side of the river from Pub Street, offering group classes and open gym access alongside coaching for fighters at different stages of experience. Visitors describe a working gym rather than a polished fitness studio: equipment is functional but not new, and the space is set up for genuine training rather than casual sightseeing.

What comes through consistently in reviews is the quality of the coaching. Guests repeatedly mention coaches who are patient with beginners while still running serious sessions, and several note that champion fighters train alongside regular clients, giving the place a credible, unglamorous feel. Equipment for classes is provided on site, so newcomers do not need their own gear. The value for money is mentioned often, with entry to the gym or a class priced low enough that people treat it as an easy addition to a Siem Reap stay. One longer-term visitor who trained there for two months recalls a demanding daily routine of sparring and clinching that noticeably improved their skills. The main practical caveat raised is navigational rather than about the gym itself: there are multiple businesses with a similar name, so it is worth confirming the route in advance, past Pub Street and across the river.

The gym is open every day from 6am to 9pm, which allows for morning or evening sessions around sightseeing. It suits both complete beginners curious about Kun Khmer or boxing and more experienced fighters looking for real sparring, since reviewers describe classes as adaptable to different skill levels. Anyone booking transport should double check the address given the name overlap with other gyms in town, and those short on time in the city may still find a single class worthwhile based on how visitors describe the experience.

The next two places under “restaurants” from MarvelInn Siem Reap are Wild (361 m) and Old Maison Eatery (405 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

An Italian restaurant on Bamboo Street in Siem Reap, serving pizza and pasta alongside a full separate vegan menu, with cocktails and dessert also on offer. The setting is elegant and relaxing enough to be remembered for the atmosphere as much as the food, and it is open daily from late morning into the evening.

Guests are consistently enthusiastic, with a very high volume of reviews backing up the praise. Pizza and pasta dishes such as papardelle come up repeatedly as fresh and well presented, and the vegan menu is singled out more than once as unexpectedly extensive and well executed. Service is a recurring theme too, with individual staff members and managers thanked by name for attentiveness, including small touches like a complimentary birthday dessert or keeping a toddler entertained at the table. Several visitors mention returning more than once during a single stay in Siem Reap, and more than one comparison is made favourably against actual restaurants in Italy. No significant complaints or caveats appear in the feedback.

Given how often repeat visits are mentioned, arriving without a reservation on a busy evening could mean a wait, so booking ahead for dinner is worth considering. It suits couples, families with children, and anyone travelling with dietary restrictions, given the dedicated vegan options. The combination of Western comfort food, wine and cocktails, and attentive service makes it a reasonable choice for a night that steps away from Khmer cuisine, whether for a casual meal or something closer to a celebration.

Restaurants 361 m 5 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

Wild is 361 m west of MarvelInn Siem Reap — about 5 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from MarvelInn Siem Reap are Fellini Siem Reap (329 m) and Old Maison Eatery (405 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

A restaurant in the Wat Damnak area of Siem Reap built around a single idea: spring rolls, both fresh rice-paper rolls and deep-fried versions, done in a range of creative combinations rather than the standard version found around town. The menu extends to cocktails and mocktails, a vegetarian selection, and desserts such as banana spring rolls, all served in a space with attentive decor and a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. Card and Google Pay are accepted, a small but useful detail in a city where cash is often expected.

Reviewers are consistently enthusiastic, with names like Monsoon Rainbow, King Jayavarman and Mama Mia coming up as favourites among the fresh and fried rolls, and several guests recommend ordering one of each style to compare textures. The service is repeatedly described as warm, professional and fast, with staff singled out for genuine hospitality rather than routine politeness. More than one visitor mentions returning multiple times during a short stay, or wishing they had, and dishes are noted for traditional Khmer touches beneath the inventive presentation. No significant complaints appear in the feedback, though the narrow focus on spring rolls means diners looking for a broader Khmer menu may want to check the offerings beforehand.

Open daily from late morning until late evening, Wild suits couples looking for a relaxed dinner, spring roll enthusiasts, and travellers who want a vegetarian-friendly option without sacrificing flavour. Given the popularity reflected in the review volume, arriving a little ahead of peak dinner hours is a sensible precaution for those without a reservation.
