Kim Guesthouse is a budget guest house on St 125 at 68 St in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Rooms are simple and functional, with air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a hot shower, a mini fridge, a kettle with coffee sticks, and a TV with a wide channel selection. Bathrooms are long, and basic toiletries — toothbrush, soap and toothpaste — are provided.
Reception is staffed 24 hours, so there is someone to ask at any time of day or night. Room sizes vary: some are wide and simple, others small with a window facing a neighbouring wall. The decor is dated, which gives the rooms a worn look.

The morning/daytime receptionist does an amazing job. He speaks good English and has always been helpful.
In terms of cleanliness, there is a lot of room for improvement, though. There was a lot of dust on the window bar - it hasn't been vacuumed for ages. Dust also comes off the curtains when you pull them - they haven't been washed for ages either. And there was a lot of dust under/behind the table.
The AC hasn't been serviced in a good while: it wasn't blowing strongly. I had to set it to 16 degrees and run it continuously. It's high time they had their ACs serviced.
Good thing, though: there is a fridge in the room. As to the kettle, in both rooms 23 and 15, the lid doesn't hold (it falls off when you start pouring). And the kettle in room 15 was outright unusable due to a bare wire (see the attached picture).
The evening receptionist made me angry with his reactions, though. One evening, I wanted to step out, and my door wouldn't lock. I picked up the phone and reported this problem to the receptionist. He didn't deem necessary to reply anything. I waited 10 minutes, then called again, already angry because of this lack of response to the problem I reported. (It was early evening, and really wanted to step out to the laundry before it closes.) He again tried to keep silent, which made me even more angry. He obviously spoke little English and wasn't understanding the problem. But he could at least have said: "I'm sorry, I don't understand you, let me come up to you an
Good budget hotel. Rooms are clean and everything works properly (aircon, shower). Internet is unstable and slow. Staff is friendly. The area has everything you might need nearby (grocery store, laundry, coffee shop, etc...). Overall good option if you want a simple functional room and don't care about wifi 👍
Maybe 3.5 stars. So it's pretty cheap, and for that price you get a room equipped with a refrigerator, air conditioning, fan, hot shower. Our room was pretty small and the window looked right onto the neighbours wall. The room wasn't very clean: the walls were dirty in the room and bathroom, there was chewing gum on the side of the bed, some stains in the sheets. The floor was clean though. The air conditioning worked but only barely, the fan worked but the cords for the switch was missing so it was hard to turn on or off. Tap in the bathroom wasn't fixed properly. Also no musquito net in the bathroom window and we had a lot of musquitos because of that. All in all its not bas value but I think with some low effort measures the rooms would be much nicer. Get a maintenance guy and tell the cleaning lady to be thorough. Staff is friendly and helpful but they failed to inform us properly on two occasions. It's simply not the best place out there, it's not bad either.
The hotel was a good location for restaurants and the city center. The room itself was a little run down and old fashioned! The room looked dirty because if the decor but it wasn't actually dirty if that makes sense? There was a 24 hour reception which was good if we needed something good wifi. Very good price and friendly staff!
