Central, Cheerful & Bit Chaotic This IBIS is a modern, well-priced four-star that gets the fundamentals right - clean rooms, decent amenities, a rooftop pool, and an unbeatable central location. It's a genuinely decent base for exploring Siem Reap without breaking the bank. That said, it's not without its quirks, and a few of them are persistent enough to matter if you're a light sleeper, an amenity hunter, or someone who cares about finishing the night peacefully. It punches above its price point in some areas and falls short in others. So, know what you're signing up for and it delivers well. LOCATION:This is where ibis Styles earns its biggest gold star. Sitting right in the thick of Siem Reap's action - steps from Pub Street, directly across from the Night Market, and a short walk from the Old Market and the river - the location couldn't be more convenient for a first-time visitor. Everything worth doing in the city centre is reachable on foot in under ten minutes. The flip side of that coin, however, is loud and relentless. Pub Street doesn't wind down until 3 AM on a good night, and if your room faces that direction, you'll know every bass drop intimately. DINE + DRINK: Didnt try the food on site, but the lobby level restaurant and bar looked pretty cool ROOM: We stayed in Room 229 , so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: Sweet view of the streets from the small window ; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler

My partner and I have stayed at the ibis Styles Siem Reap on two previous occasions, and I’m pleased to say that our latest visit certainly did not disappoint. In fact, this must be one of the best ibis properties I’ve stayed in. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Pub Street and the Night Market, making it an ideal base for exploring the centre of Siem Reap while still being able to retreat to a quieter space. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Breakfast is served in the “Streats” café and offers a good selection, including breads, croissants, and local dishes. Eggs can also be cooked to order, which is always a nice touch. A special mention should go to Hong at reception, who was wonderful throughout our stay. Always welcoming us with a friendly smile, Hong was incredibly helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. Overall, another excellent stay. We would happily return again and look forward to doing so on our next visit to Siem Reap.

I stayed here for two nights. It's not the first time I've stayed at a hotel of this brand. This time I wasn't disappointed either. The room was quite large, very clean, the bed comfortable. There is a large TV in the room (I don't use the TV when I travel, I'm not interested), a small fridge, a safe. The air conditioning worked well, as did the Wi-Fi. The bathroom was very clean, but with one minus: the tiles in the shower were very slippery. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were very kind, they speak English. The breakfast was good, varied, nothing to complain about.

The hotel was exactly as presented - clean and new, large enough rooms and very clean showers and toilets. Great little pool area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pub st 2 blocks away and night markets across the road - perfect location!

A very pleasant experience. The place was clean and very welcoming. The restaurant is also very good. Buffet breakfast had limited but a good selection of food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Ideally located and close to basic amenities.

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap

Cinema 74 m 1 min walk 4.2/5 on Google

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap is 74 m west of ibis Styles Siem Reap — about 1 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cinema”.

The other place under “cinema” within reach of ibis Styles Siem Reap is Legend Cinemas Siem Reap (1.1 km).

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap is a multiplex cinema located on Sivutha Road in central Siem Reap, operating daily from 9 AM to 11:30 PM. The venue offers multiple screens showing a mix of international films, mostly in 3D format, alongside 2D options. The ground floor has a snack bar serving popcorn and basic refreshments. Screens are equipped with air conditioning and working sound systems, with seating that includes adjustable armrests.

Visitors consistently praise the comfortable seating, clear audio, and reasonable ticket prices, typically around $2.50 to $3 per ticket. The air-conditioned environment is noted as a welcome relief in the tropical heat. However, guests mention several recurring issues: the men's toilets frequently malfunction, the snack selection is limited to popcorn and microwaved items with few alternatives, and while screen quality is adequate for enjoying films, it is not considered premium. Some visitors also report that most American releases are shown in 3D rather than 2D. The bakery that once operated here is no longer available. One visitor mentioned dark stairs inside the theater, though another dispute this observation.

This cinema suits visitors looking for an affordable movie experience during their stay in Siem Reap, particularly those seeking air-conditioned refuge during midday heat. It works best for flexible moviegoers who are not particular about snack options or cutting-edge screen technology. Arrive early if you have specific preferences for 2D showings, as 3D films dominate the schedule. Ticket prices make it accessible for casual viewing, but plan bathroom needs carefully given the reported maintenance issues with male facilities.

Bars 113 m 1 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

Ambar Cocktails & Karaoke Bar is 113 m north of ibis Styles Siem Reap — about 1 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from ibis Styles Siem Reap are Charms Cambodia (212 m) and ASANA OLD WOODEN HOUSE Cocktail Bar (278 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Ambar Cocktails & Karaoke Bar is a two-in-one venue in Siem Reap's Alley W where you can order cocktails and move between drinking and karaoke in the same space. The bar operates nightly from 6 PM until 3 AM. It draws a mixed crowd of locals, remote workers, and tourists, with a casual atmosphere that regulars describe as down to earth.

Visitors consistently praise the cocktails and the friendliness of staff and owner. The owner, who is from Colombia, is noted for mingling with guests and occasionally buying rounds for the bar. Guests mention reasonable prices compared to nearby venues, and several visitors returned multiple times during their stays in Siem Reap. One visitor noted the karaoke equipment could use an upgrade—specifically stronger vocal microphones and additional speakers—though this did not dominate their overall positive experience.

Come in the evening or late night if you want a sociable atmosphere; the bar is busiest after work hours and into the early morning. The karaoke facilities are available but not state-of-the-art, so manage expectations if you're seeking polished karaoke-bar production. It suits anyone looking for cocktails in a relaxed setting without pretension, and particularly appeals to people staying longer in Siem Reap who want a regular spot.

X-Bar

Nightlife 152 m 2 min walk 4.2/5 on Google

X-Bar is 152 m north of ibis Styles Siem Reap — about 2 minutes on foot.

X-Bar is a rooftop bar on the corner of Sivath Boulevard and Sok San Road, positioned just outside the main Pub Street strip in Siem Reap. The space has multiple levels and games—pool tables, foosball, air hockey, shuffleboard, and beer pong—along with a notable half-pipe skate ramp on the top level. It opens from 5 PM until 4 AM daily, with a rooftop layout offering views of Pub Street and the surrounding area.

Visitors consistently praise the atmosphere once it fills up after 10 PM, describing it as lively and energetic with a good mix of locals and tourists. DJs and occasional live music are regular features. Drinks are reasonably priced, with canned beers around 1.50 dollars and bottles at 1.75 dollars. Some guests mention a fire show as an occasional attraction. However, experiences vary noticeably: while most visitors enjoy the venue, particularly late into the evening, a few report disappointingly slow service and disengaged staff during quieter periods. The rooftop can be quite subdued in early evening hours with sparse crowds. One visitor noted the bartender appeared uninterested, contrasting sharply with other accounts of friendly staff. The quieter periods mean the music level is manageable compared to other nearby bars, which appeals to those wanting conversation.

X-Bar works best for late-night visits after 10 PM or especially after 1 AM when other bars close and crowds migrate here. It suits visitors seeking games, dancing, and a mixed social scene rather than a focused nightclub experience. Expect it to be calmer in early evening if you arrive before 9 PM, and best visited with a group given the games and social setup. The location just off Pub Street helps it maintain a slightly less touristy edge than venues directly on the main strip.

Restaurants 171 m 2 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

Wild is 171 m south-east of ibis Styles Siem Reap — about 2 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from ibis Styles Siem Reap are Mesa - Restaurant (204 m) and Old Maison Eatery (380 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

A restaurant in the Wat Damnak area of Siem Reap built around a single idea: spring rolls, both fresh rice-paper rolls and deep-fried versions, done in a range of creative combinations rather than the standard version found around town. The menu extends to cocktails and mocktails, a vegetarian selection, and desserts such as banana spring rolls, all served in a space with attentive decor and a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. Card and Google Pay are accepted, a small but useful detail in a city where cash is often expected.

Reviewers are consistently enthusiastic, with names like Monsoon Rainbow, King Jayavarman and Mama Mia coming up as favourites among the fresh and fried rolls, and several guests recommend ordering one of each style to compare textures. The service is repeatedly described as warm, professional and fast, with staff singled out for genuine hospitality rather than routine politeness. More than one visitor mentions returning multiple times during a short stay, or wishing they had, and dishes are noted for traditional Khmer touches beneath the inventive presentation. No significant complaints appear in the feedback, though the narrow focus on spring rolls means diners looking for a broader Khmer menu may want to check the offerings beforehand.

Open daily from late morning until late evening, Wild suits couples looking for a relaxed dinner, spring roll enthusiasts, and travellers who want a vegetarian-friendly option without sacrificing flavour. Given the popularity reflected in the review volume, arriving a little ahead of peak dinner hours is a sensible precaution for those without a reservation.

Restaurants 204 m 3 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

Mesa - Restaurant is 204 m north of ibis Styles Siem Reap — about 3 minutes on foot. Of the 7 places under “restaurants” within a kilometre of the hotel, this is the best rated.

The next two places under “restaurants” from ibis Styles Siem Reap are Wild (171 m) and Old Maison Eatery (380 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Mesa sits right on Pub Street in Siem Reap, serving Cambodian food to a steady stream of visitors from late morning until midnight, seven days a week. The menu runs through familiar Khmer dishes alongside more adventurous options, from sweet and sour chicken stir fry and beef cheeks to roasted duck with curry and, for the curious, crocodile meat served in small tasting portions before you commit to a full order. Meals typically arrive with small extras that guests did not order but remember afterward — lemongrass or pomegranate tea, watermelon with dried fish flakes, banana chips, or a Cambodian pumpkin dessert offered on the house.

Reviewers return again and again to the service rather than any single dish, naming individual waitstaff who explained menus, steered orders around allergies, and suggested tasters for unfamiliar items like crocodile. Despite the Pub Street location, several guests specifically note that it did not feel like a tourist trap, crediting genuine attentiveness over a scripted routine. The one recurring caveat comes from diners less familiar with Cambodian cuisine, who rated the food itself a notch below the service — a reminder that this is a kitchen rooted in local flavors rather than international crowd-pleasing.

Given the location and the volume of praise, expect a lively, touristy stretch of street outside and a fairly full house inside, so evenings may mean a short wait despite the long opening hours. It suits travelers who want an introduction to Khmer dishes with guidance from the staff rather than a self-service buffet approach, and those who value being looked after as much as what lands on the table. Groups and diners with allergies or dietary restrictions appear well accommodated based on repeated mentions.

The next two places under “sights” from ibis Styles Siem Reap are Pub Street (213 m) and Old Market Bridge (222 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor is a working craft center in Siem Reap where visitors can watch artisans create traditional Cambodian pieces. The space is organized into workshops for stone carving, wood carving, metal work, silk weaving, and painting. You can walk through these areas during production and observe the techniques firsthand. Many visitors mention a hands-on station where you can try stone carving yourself. After the workshop tour, there is a large gift shop selling finished pieces made on-site.

Visitors consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere and the skill of the artisans, who are generally happy to explain their work and allow photography. The open workshop layout means you see the actual creative process rather than a staged demonstration. Most people report the experience takes around 45 minutes. A common note is that prices are higher than in other souvenir shops, though visitors accept this because the pieces are made directly by the artisans and the center can arrange worldwide shipping. Entry is free, though you are expected to visit the shop.

The site is open daily from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. It works well if you want to understand how Cambodian crafts are actually made and buy directly from makers rather than through middlemen. Go in off-peak season if you prefer a quieter, more personalized experience, or expect busier periods during high tourist season.

Charms Cambodia is a bar on Steung Thmei in central Siem Reap, positioned near the main pub district. The space is described as roomy and includes pool tables. It operates from 5 PM to 2 AM daily. The bar employs a predominantly female staff, which shapes the nature of the venue and the experience visitors report.

Visitors consistently praise the friendly service and affordable drinks. The atmosphere and music receive positive mentions. Guests note the bar's proximity to Pub Street makes it accessible for an evening out. However, opinions divide on the primary draw: some appreciate the social aspect with staff, while others find the focus on staff interaction as the main attraction either appealing or intrusive depending on what they seek from a night out. A handful of visitors express frustration with the 2 AM closing time, noting that competing venues nearby stay open later and still draw customers at that hour.

The bar suits those looking for a casual evening with pool games and drinks in the company of a young, friendly team. It's best visited after 5 PM, any night of the week. Expectations should be calibrated to the bar's model as a staff-interaction venue rather than a quiet spot for conversation or a music-focused club. The early closing time is worth noting if you plan a later night.

Pub Street is 213 m north of ibis Styles Siem Reap — about 3 minutes on foot. Of the 4 places under “sights” within a kilometre of the hotel, this is the best rated.

The next two places under “sights” from ibis Styles Siem Reap are The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor (207 m) and Old Market Bridge (222 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Pub Street is the main entertainment hub in central Siem Reap, a vehicle-free street lined with bars, clubs, restaurants, and food stalls. The strip fills with lights and music at night and operates around the clock, drawing both tourists and locals. Nearby is a night market offering additional food and shopping options. Visitors can expect everything from dance clubs and cocktail bars to casual seating areas and street food vendors.

Guests consistently praise the atmosphere and value. The street is energetic and social—people mention it as ideal for meeting other travellers and relaxing after temple visits, with an upbeat vibe comparable to entertainment districts in New Orleans or Nashville. Beer prices are notably cheap, with some visitors citing beers around 0.75 USD, and happy hour deals are common. Food options span many cuisines with reasonable pricing. The main caveat is the noise level; music is loud throughout the street, which some find exciting and others find overwhelming. Locals are reported as friendly and willing to chat.

The street works best as an evening and late-night destination after a day of sightseeing. It suits travellers seeking nightlife, casual dining, and a social atmosphere rather than a quiet experience. It is busiest after dark and operates continuously, so timing is flexible. Those sensitive to noise or seeking a more subdued evening should consider elsewhere in the city, though the street remains functional and welcoming throughout its hours.
