Worst Hotel in Cambodia. There is no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom. It is a hotel that exceeds our common sense. I can't dry my hair because there is no hair dryer. No room cleaning. If you say that, you will be required to pay a separate fee for the Cambodian female staff and the old Cambodian man. The front door doesn't lock. When I told him that, he said that it was too bad that you pulled the door as hard as you could and didn't lock it. It is extremely unreasonable. Also, only a limited number of rooms have air conditioning. And even the air conditioner is almost broken. It doesn't work at all. When I point it out, they say the air conditioner is working. Apparently, there seems to be a big gap between the values ​​of people in developed countries and people in this miserable and poor country of Cambodia. I definitely do not recommend this place. If the price is similar, be sure to avoid this place. Ladies, Cockroaches will also appear while you are sleeping.

The local food here is really nice but the western food they offer should be avoided like the plague. They are friendly but the rooms on offer are what you pay for. Cheap with no real amenities to speak of, and the rooms and building are somewhat run down and dirty with no attention paid to upkeep of any kind. The streets are noisy at night with either music from the hostel (which finishes playing quite early) to dogs barking. Scooter engines roaring and strange noises eminating from the night. I would suggest being drunk every night to get a good night's sleep.

I don’t know what other reviewers were thinking room quality was going to be for $10 a night, but I have been to this guest house numerous times and it is actually very reasonable for the money you pay, you can’t expect the Hilton with shampoo and conditioner, most guest houses don’t even have soap. This is CAMBODIA, it’s not Australia, the US or Europe. Standards here are different and if you see the quality of other guest houses, this one is like the Ritz! Decent rooms, had no problem with Wi-fi or staff. Some don’t speak great English, but they understand enough to help. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious! They can’t help the clientele, but this place is far from the worst when it comes to guest houses in Cambodia. As a traveller who has visited this country numerous times and stayed at heaps of hotels here, this one rates at the top. Some don’t even have clean sheets and rats running around and you’re complaining about shampoo? Seriously, I’ve seen a lot worse for a lot more. White River guest house is right near the Riverfront, near the nightlife, night market, central and Russian Markets. Aeon Mall is close, heaps of restaurants and has a great chill, relaxed and friendly vibe. BEDROOM TO AVOID AT ANY COST Disgusting guesthouse, all the rooms have huge spider nets, toilet not clean recently, dust everywhere, dirty bedsheets, bugs in every corner, stains on every surfaces,... For the story : When we asked to leave after the first night because of the building site a few meters from our window without glass, they sayed they couldn't refund us (saying they can't make this decision but refusing to let us speak to the so called "boss") and as we are students we had to accept changing room because otherwise it would have been too expensive for us. In the second room, the fan was still holding on the wall and we could close the toilet door without breaking it but still, there was moisture smell and leaking sink. The only thing that was ok is the price and still, it's not worth it at all.

I got a twin room that does not look the way they look in the pictures. The nicer pictures are dated. The air-conditioning is wonky. Bathroom has a wretched smell. The fridge is filthy. There was a rat in my room. The shower has good pressure and hot water and the beds are comfortable. Location is good as well but everything in that area is more expensive so be wary of your budget if you're someone who is returning to Phnom Penh with certain price expectations as I am.
