TM Boutique

Phsar Leu Thom Tmey is 2.6 km west of TM Boutique — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “markets”.

The other place under “markets” within reach of TM Boutique is Phsa Kraom Market (6.0 km).

Phsar Leu Thom Tmey is a large indoor market in central Siem Reap that stocks an unusually wide range of goods under one roof. Visitors find fresh produce, seafood, meat, clothing, footwear, electronics, jewelry, and gold alongside food vendors and kitchen items. The market also has money changers. It operates early — from 3 AM most days — reflecting its primary role as a local supply hub rather than a tourist destination.

Visitors consistently note this is a genuinely local market where tourists are rare. Those seeking authenticity appreciate the lack of tourist pressure and the variety of fresh produce and Khmer food on offer. Shoppers report that prices are competitive compared to supermarkets and town-centre money changers, and that most vendors are willing to bargain. The main limitation is language: English is spoken far less here than at Old Market, so communication can be difficult. Some visitors found this an asset rather than a problem, valuing the untouched local atmosphere it suggests.

The market opens at 3 AM and runs until 8 PM daily, making it accessible throughout the day, though it functions most actively as a morning market. Go early if you want the fullest selection of fresh goods and the most authentic atmosphere. Wear comfortable shoes for navigating the indoor stalls. Bring a phrasebook or translation app if you speak no Khmer, and be prepared to navigate by pointing and patience. It suits visitors who want to shop as locals do and experience the working market life of Siem Reap, rather than those seeking a polished, English-friendly shopping experience.

Fair Trade Village is 3.2 km west of TM Boutique — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from TM Boutique are Royal Residence (4.2 km) and Made in Cambodia Market (4.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Fair Trade Village is a handicraft marketplace in Trang Village, positioned between central Siem Reap and the Angkor archaeological park ticket office. The site displays and sells handmade Cambodian goods across a wide range of categories: hand-woven textiles including kromas, bronze statues, jewellery made from seeds and clay, traditional dancing masks, bamboo items, and paintings created using a traditional palm leaf burning technique. Visitors can walk through the space and observe artisans at work, though accounts of actual production vary.

Visitor responses are mixed. Several travellers praise the variety and quality of craftsmanship, particularly the textile collection, and note that staff are friendly and non-pressuring. However, others describe the site as a tourist-oriented setup where prices run higher than comparable items at local markets, and question whether active production takes place or is performed for visitors. Some find the atmosphere underwhelming and the merchandise dusty or neglected-looking, suggesting limited footfall. The experience appears to depend heavily on expectations: those seeking curated Cambodian handicrafts in one location generally report satisfaction, while those seeking authentic artisan work or competitive pricing often leave disappointed.

The village operates daily from 9am to 6pm. It works best as a morning stop en route to Angkor rather than a dedicated destination, particularly if you are already travelling that direction. The setting suits travellers with specific interest in Cambodian textiles or handicrafts who prefer browsing without haggling, though independent travellers and those on tight budgets may find better value exploring markets closer to the city centre.

Brother Bong Cafe is 4.0 km west of TM Boutique — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from TM Boutique are The Bean Embassy Roastery & Specialty Coffee (4.4 km) and Dialogue (4.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Brother Bong Cafe sits on Street 20 in Siem Reap, open daily from early morning to late afternoon. It functions as a proper breakfast and lunch stop rather than a quick coffee counter, with a menu that stretches from English breakfast plates and smashed avocado to Khmer dishes, sandwiches and baguettes, alongside its coffee program, which has roots in an earlier Phnom Penh location.

Reviews are largely enthusiastic, with repeat visitors mentioning the coffee, particularly iced lattes, and the generous, well-made baguettes and breakfast plates as standouts. Vegetarian options and friendly, attentive staff come up often, and some travellers say they returned daily during longer stays. A few notes of caution surface too: one visitor found the sausage in a dish more like a street-style meatball than expected, and another flags that credit cards are not accepted, something staff did not volunteer in advance.

Go for breakfast or lunch rather than a late-day visit, since it closes in the afternoon, and expect it to be busy even on weekends, so a short wait for a table is possible. Bring cash to be safe, as card payments have not always been accepted. It suits travellers wanting a relaxed, well-designed café setting with a broad menu covering both Western breakfast staples and Khmer food, and it has drawn a loyal following among those coming back multiple times during a Siem Reap stay.

Mealea Watbo is 4.1 km south-west of TM Boutique — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from TM Boutique are HAVEN (4.5 km) and Ground Zero: Martial Arts & Yoga Centre (4.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Mealea Watbo is a Cambodian restaurant on Street 26 in Siem Reap, open daily from 11 in the morning until 11 at night. The setting combines traditional and modern decoration, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and guests mention a view that adds to the experience. The menu runs through Khmer staples such as fish, chicken and soup dishes, finished with desserts like coconut ice cream served with rice jelly and watermelon.

Visitors describe the food as flavourful and well presented, with several first-time tasters of Cambodian cuisine saying they were won over from the first bite. Value for money comes up often, with more than one reviewer calling it the best they have found in Siem Reap. Staff attentiveness is a recurring theme, and one server, Kakada, is repeatedly singled out by name for her warmth, clear English and thoughtful recommendations, including relocating diners indoors when insects became a nuisance during an outdoor meal. The lone practical note is a request to remove bones from the fish soup, a small detail rather than a wider complaint.

Given the long daily hours, it suits both a casual solo dinner and a small business gathering, as one guest describes using it for a work dinner. It works equally well for travellers wanting an introduction to Khmer food and for those who already know it and want a reliable, well-run spot. With close to 1,300 reviews and a rating that sits at 4.9, it draws a steady crowd, so arriving during peak dinner hours may mean a short wait, though nothing in the reviews suggests reservations are essential. Outdoor seating is worth requesting for the view, provided you don't mind the occasional insect that comes with dining near greenery in the evening.

Royal Independence Gardens is 4.1 km west of TM Boutique — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “parks & nature”.

The next two places under “parks & nature” from TM Boutique are Flying Foxes (4.2 km) and Cambodian-Vietnamese War Memorial (4.2 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Royal Independence Gardens is a public park in central Siem Reap, accessible around the clock along National Route 6. Visitors find a landscaped space with historical statues, mature trees, and good lighting that extends into the evening. The Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm shrine sits within the gardens themselves. The park draws joggers, walkers, and people playing casual sports, and several cafes nearby serve coffee.

Guests consistently describe the gardens as clean and well-maintained, with a peaceful atmosphere suitable for a stroll regardless of the time of day. Many highlight the cultural and spiritual quality of the space, particularly around the shrine. The most distinctive feature visitors mention is the congregation of hundreds of flying foxes hanging in the trees—an unusual sight that recurs across multiple reviews. Some acknowledge the gardens are pleasant rather than exceptional as a destination in themselves, though most find them worthwhile for a visit. The area feels safe to move around in at night when lit, and it works for families, friends, or couples seeking a quiet break.

The gardens are open continuously, making them accessible for early morning walks or evening visits. The site requires no entry fee and works best as a stop during a wider exploration of Siem Reap rather than as a standalone destination. The flying foxes are most active and visible in the early morning and at dusk. Those interested in local history and spiritual sites, or anyone wanting a green space to move through without crowds, will find it suitable; visitors primarily seeking dramatic natural beauty or wildlife encounter may feel it offers less.

The River Gallery is 4.2 km west of TM Boutique — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “museums & galleries”.

The next two places under “museums & galleries” from TM Boutique are The Cocoon House - Art Gallery, Concept Store, Fashion Vintage and Skate Shop - by Cocoon Limited (4.2 km) and VIMEAN SOKHA MUSEUM (4.8 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

A small gallery in Siem Reap showing paintings by Cambodian artists, ranging from established names to those exhibiting for the first time. Visitors describe it as compact rather than sprawling, with original pieces and prints available across a range of price points, giving the space a working-gallery feel rather than a museum-style display. Part of the appeal is the story behind the art itself, with several works reflecting the artists' own perspectives on Cambodia's past.

Guests consistently mention the quality and atmosphere as standing apart from the artwork sold around the night market and Pub Street area, calling it a more serious stop for anyone actually interested in buying local art. The staff come up often and favourably, with one visitor naming a guide, Julia, whose explanations of individual paintings were described as bringing the work to life. Reviewers also note that a portion of sales revenue goes toward supporting art education for students, which several found meaningful rather than incidental to the visit. No real complaints or caveats surface in the reviews, though its small size is mentioned as a fact rather than a flaw.

The gallery is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It suits travellers with an interest in contemporary Cambodian art, whether browsing or looking to buy an original piece or print, and works well as a quieter counterpoint to the temple circuit. Given the small footprint, a visit tends to be short, but those keen on hearing about individual works should allow time to talk with staff rather than just walk through.

Royal Residence is 4.2 km west of TM Boutique — a short ride rather than a walk. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from TM Boutique are Fair Trade Village (3.2 km) and Made in Cambodia Market (4.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Royal Residence is a garden complex in central Siem Reap featuring landscaped grounds, historic statues, and shrines. Visitors find it a functioning civic space where locals exercise in the mornings and evenings, and a place where Cambodian national events are gathered. The gardens sit near the river, with French colonial architecture visible along the waterfront.

Guests consistently praise the well-maintained grounds and peaceful atmosphere for walking. Many note it as an accessible escape in the heart of the city, where you can observe daily life and interact with locals. Reviewers mention the gardens have been recently renovated and are worth the visit regardless of your reason for being in Siem Reap. The ambiance and photo opportunities are frequently mentioned as appealing.

The gardens are easily reached on foot from hotels in the surrounding area—around a 3 to 4 kilometre walk is manageable. Early morning, between 9:30 and 10 am, is a good time to visit if you want to see locals exercising. Wear comfortable shoes for walking the grounds. It suits anyone looking for a quiet, local-oriented break from temple touring, and those wanting to photograph colonial riverside architecture and garden landscapes.

The Cocoon House - Art Gallery, Concept Store, Fashion Vintage and Skate Shop - by Cocoon Limited is 4.2 km west of TM Boutique — a short ride rather than a walk. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “museums & galleries”.

The next two places under “museums & galleries” from TM Boutique are The River Gallery (4.2 km) and VIMEAN SOKHA MUSEUM (4.8 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Set inside an old colonial mansion on Sivatha Road, this Siem Reap space mixes an art gallery, a concept store, a vintage fashion corner, and a skate shop under one roof. Visitors find contemporary artwork alongside Asian and European antiques, film photography, own-brand clothing, and skateboarding gear, with pieces ranging from affordable finds to higher-value collectibles.

Guests consistently describe the atmosphere as unusual and inviting, crediting the family behind it, a mother and son, for making the visit personal rather than transactional. Several reviewers mention staff by name, noting they take time to explain the history of the collection and the story behind the shop, and even offer tips on where to eat or find good coffee nearby. More than one visitor calls it the best skate shop they have encountered, and the vintage and antique pieces get particular praise for being well curated and, in some cases, surprisingly reasonably priced. No real criticisms surface in the reviews.

The house is closed on Tuesdays, and on other days it operates in two blocks, roughly mid-morning to early afternoon and then again from early afternoon into the evening, so it is worth timing a visit around that split. It suits travellers who enjoy browsing rather than a quick in-and-out stop, since much of the appeal comes from the stories attached to individual pieces and from the chance to talk with the people running it. It works equally well for someone hunting a vintage watch, a piece of art, or simply a skate shop with more personality than stock.
