Fair Trade Village is a handicraft marketplace in Trang Village, positioned between central Siem Reap and the Angkor archaeological park ticket office. The site displays and sells handmade Cambodian goods across a wide range of categories: hand-woven textiles including kromas, bronze statues, jewellery made from seeds and clay, traditional dancing masks, bamboo items, and paintings created using a traditional palm leaf burning technique. Visitors can walk through the space and observe artisans at work, though accounts of actual production vary.
Visitor responses are mixed. Several travellers praise the variety and quality of craftsmanship, particularly the textile collection, and note that staff are friendly and non-pressuring. However, others describe the site as a tourist-oriented setup where prices run higher than comparable items at local markets, and question whether active production takes place or is performed for visitors. Some find the atmosphere underwhelming and the merchandise dusty or neglected-looking, suggesting limited footfall. The experience appears to depend heavily on expectations: those seeking curated Cambodian handicrafts in one location generally report satisfaction, while those seeking authentic artisan work or competitive pricing often leave disappointed.
The village operates daily from 9am to 6pm. It works best as a morning stop en route to Angkor rather than a dedicated destination, particularly if you are already travelling that direction. The setting suits travellers with specific interest in Cambodian textiles or handicrafts who prefer browsing without haggling, though independent travellers and those on tight budgets may find better value exploring markets closer to the city centre.

Very positive surprise at Fair Trade Village. It’s a bit outside from the city center but on the way to the ticket office for the Angkor archaeological park. All products are handmade in Cambodia. They have a big array of different products. Particularly the collection of hand-woven cotton textiles is amazing, but also the collection of bronze statues and the bracelets and necklaces made from different materials (seeds, clay, brass and silver). They also have many special items such as traditional dancing masks, bamboo items, and paintings made by a traditional burning technique on palm leaves, which we saw only at the Fair Trade Village and nowhere else. They have also silk textiles, wood and sandstone carving, rattan items, ceramic and others products. The quality of the products is good and the prices are reasonable. There are also some artisans working at Fair Trade village, weaver,

I cannot understand the 5 stars review. This place is a big fake set up. Basically the "artisans" will start pretending to work on their craft the moment there is any visitor. Take the loom in front, the colored threads on the shelf are so dusty, you can bet that no one has touched it in recent years. Other things for sale are dusty and been there for a few years. The whole set up allows them to sell souvenirs sold at the old market for 3 times the price, or not. I can't be sure m the things are too dusty to wanna touch!

Great place for purchasing local handicrafts. We like the very friendly staff members. You can walk around without being pressured into buying. Very good variety of choices and good quality. We particularly like the extensive collection of hand-woven Kromas and other textiles.
★★★☆☆
High street like shopping for souvenirs - high-ended craftsmanship. Wares here range from pottery, paintings, jewellery, cotton, leather, stone, metal. Limited wood carvings. Interesting take-away coffee next door whilst you shop.
★★☆☆☆
Tourist trap. It has great reviews because the locals make it out to be a great place to buy. Its underwhelming and very bare.
I wouldn't waste your time. Prices are high and no one seems to be working. I think there are better places.
