The Center Point is a hotel in the Steung Thmei area of Krong Siem Reap, Cambodia, set within walking distance of the city's main evening districts. Rooms range from budget options around $17 a night to deluxe doubles, some with balconies, and guests describe the rooms as spacious by regional standards.
The lobby, restaurant and bar sit in open-air common areas, so the ground floor stays at outdoor temperature rather than air-conditioned cool. Rooms have air conditioning and hot water showers. The hotel can arrange transport from the VET Bus stop for arriving guests, and coordinates pickups by WhatsApp and through the booking platform.
Staff speak basic English and are described as friendly and helpful; a translation app is useful for anything complicated. The location suits travellers who want to be within an easy walk of Pub Street, the Night Markets and the river area, with a wide r...

Good to know
Rooms may not be ready before mid-afternoon, and one guest arriving at 2:45pm waited a further half hour. Airport-style transfers are not offered, but the hotel arranges pickup from the VET Bus and confirms arrival times by WhatsApp and through the booking platform. The main lobby, restaurant and bar are open air, which means no air conditioning in the common areas. Refunds have been granted on prepaid stays when guests declined the room on arrival.
We hace been traveling in Asia for 2 months and we had a pleasant stay at The Center Point. It is centrally located, close to the Pun Street, Night Markets and other places of interest. There are so many bars, restaurants and spa services around it with a huge variety of quality and prices. The rooms are spacious, compared to other hotels in Asia. I give it a 3 star because the air conditioner "cools" the room but it doesn't get cold enough to be comfortable enough. The hot water heater doesn't heat the water (I like very hot showers), but it gets the water warm enough for a nice shower. The staff could be nicer. Instead of telling me the room is cold for Cambodia's standard, could have said it is the best they could do. Same as per the water heater. The pool also needs maintenance. We didn't use it because it looked murky. I think if the do a better maintenance work on the facilities, this could be a great hotel. They also charged my credit card twice because the first time, the Point of Sale showed "operation failed", but I showed them the carge went through. The said the canceled the second transaction, but after 3 days, I haven't seen the refund. After that, I only paid cash to avoid duplicate charges.
Clean, comfortable rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. They understand basic English, but bring Google Translate for complex issues. The main lobby, restaurant and bar, and common areas are open air, so it might be a little uncomfortable for those not use to warm climates. (But then we didn't come to Cambodia for the skiing.) It's an easy walk to the Night Market and river area. The river area attracts multiple local food vendors.
When we arrived at the hotel, they we were already tired from the overnight bus ride , and even though it was 25$ for the room and 50% more which is 37.50$ . We hadn't booked through booking but we did contact an employee of the hotel before going.
The room was disappointing and was not worth even 20 ,the hot water was broken, the door of the bathroom was creaking, the balcony was dirty and small and the toilet won't stop making noise if we didn't put it in a specific position.
After 1 night we moved to the 17$ room which is even worse, it wasn't even a bed, it was like wooden plank with a matrice, no space almost at all but the water was warm ( we don't know if it was because it was hot during the day or the heater was working).
Check out was at 12 but we asked for late check out, they agreed but for 15$ for 9h in the 17$ room ,in my opinion it was too much but we paid anyways. But the service was not bad ,they were polite but they are just too greedy
I had booked and prepaid for 5 nights but left after 45 minutes…
The hotel arrange transport from the VET Bus, and I had told them before arriving, that I would be there at 2pm - 15 minutes before they contacted me both through WhatsApp and Booking.com asking me, where I was, because the driver couldn’t see me (no wonder, I wasn’t there yet).
When I arrived at the hotel at 2:45pm, the room was not ready yet - had to wait half an hour..
When I was finally taken to my room, it was terrible - the sheets was dirty and stained, the bathroom was very small and neither clean.
The windows leak to the outside, so there was dead mosquitoes and insects many places, even in the mattress (hope it wasn’t bed bugs, but not sure) - please bear in mind that I got to see 5 different rooms, and it was all the same. The building is very old and could really use a renovation. I know the place is cheap, but after talking with the staf, I got a refund for 4 of the nights and left to find another place.
Only upside is that the staff was very sweet and helpful - even they could see it wasn’t good enough, when they followed me through the rooms…
I had a great stay at the Centre Point Hotel.
The hotel is in a great location, it is clean, safe and has a great pool and good food.
However, it is not perfect and needs some modifications and upgrading.
The kettle has to be boiled on the floor because of the lack of power sockets.
Some aircon units need servicing/replacement.
The low-floor beds should be replaced with proper beds/bed frames.
The bathrooms are dark grey cement and need to be fully tiled or painted white with waterproof paint.
The breakfast is very good, and the chef’s presentation is a pleasure to see.
The staff are amazing, kind, polite, helpful and joyful.
I would especially like to thank the following:
The reception staff: Ms. Visa, Ms. Meas, Ms. Kimmy. Ms. Lin and Ms. Yada for their help, their kindness and diligence in their work.
In the dining room Ms. Srey, for her efficiency and her ever-present smile.
In the kitchen, the Chef for her great food.
The housekeeping for their kindness, humour and for their excellent hard work.
Thank you for your my enjoyable stay.
