Oh my gosh, we LOVED this place! We stayed there exactly this time last year. The place gave us so much peace!! The huts were surprisingly beautiful. So charmingly made. The bathrooms are so stunning, the shower in a really cool bamboo tub. The kids LOVED it! In the morning we just jumped out of bed and dived straight into the fresh and clean river!! So so refreshing!! The owner took us on a private tour around the mangroves on day two, and took us for a jungle walk. It was incredible!! Good food too! Really want to go back! Ps. Our kids were 5 and 7 at that time!! 100% suitable for families we would say! Oh, and we also went kayaking!! Amazing!!

Overall a memorable stay at the Tatai River Eco Resort. The place itself is incredible: stunning views and an absolutely amazing river. It’s a beautiful setting, no doubt about it. The bungalows are decent, but we had a major issue with ants. Several beds were heavily infested, and every evening turned into a battle to keep them away. We woke up multiple times during the night because of them, which made it hard to rest. The staff is very kind and willing to help, but there’s a big communication problem. They don’t speak English and seem unable to say no, so we often ended up receiving different dishes than what we ordered. The food was good overall, but it became frustrating. As for activities, several disappointments: - A 2-hour trek (60$ for 4 people) was sold to us as a way to see a waterfall… but there was no waterfall. Apparently, it’s only included in the 4-hour trek. This should have been explained clearly from the start. - Birdwatching was offered, but starting at 8am (too late), and on the same trail which didn’t seem suitable. We decided to skip it. - The worst part for me: fishing. I specifically came to target big barramundi +1meter and snakehead +1meter from the Tatai River (I showed photos and explained via translator khmer + english). We paid around €120 for 4 hours… and 3 hours on the boat… only to end up in the sea not river or mangrove, 30 meters from the shore ! , catching small local fish (10–20 cm). Had a wonderful stay at Sir Eco Resort — highly recommend it! The bungalow was excellent: cozy, well-designed, and perfect for relaxing. I especially loved being able to swim right in front of the bungalow and unwind with a book on the terrace. The food was a bit slow (need to Riga zie to book in ahead) and very local in style, but the selection was quite wide, and I recommend trying their river fish — it was delicious. Overall, a peaceful and beautiful place to disconnect and recharge. Would definitely come back!

This is definitely a place to go, if you love rustic and lovely places. All the locations are floating, the designs are lovely. The rainy season can be quite challenging but it makes things more lovely. The owner is attentive but service can be quite slow at the restaurant especially if all rooms are full, as they don't really have enough staff. The location is lovely, but you can only get food from the restaurant, so it will be better if you bring your own food like snacks, soft drink, in case in the middle of night you want to eat something. One more lack point, they don't label which is shampoo or soap in the bathroom. Also, I think they need to prepare a life jacket in any room for security.

We had a rather good experience (albeit fly-filled one) at the Thansur Tatai Eco Resort. The location is off-road so do expect some mild difficulty (about 1.5 to 2 hours away from the main town) getting to the resort. The place was a bit rough to get to with the construction work that was being done on the main road winding to the location, but pretty much expected when you want to head to a place that is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. When you are at the resort, be prepared to spend a bit more if you intend to bask at the resort during the entirety of your stay. Breakfast is complimentary, but lunches and dinners are reasonably charged (about USD9.50 per pax for a meal without drinks). All activities are chargeable, except for the kayaking activity. Lunches and dinners were tasty and homely. The rooms were built for at least a basic level of comfort with separate sitting areas for putting on your shoes, a bed, a balcony facing the river and a toilet, sink and shower area that were quite artfully put together. The walls are non-existent and sound does travel, but we slept well while being rocked to sleep by the waters. If you are afraid of bugs or insects, there might present a slight challenge as the resort is situated above water. The beauty of this resort is that it was built with eco-materials above and beside the river bank. However, it does also mean that insects have also made the place their home or final resting place.
