Ta Som Guesthouse is a guest house in Siem Reap, Cambodia, set in an old-style house on National Road 6. Rooms are inexpensive and come with beds, air conditioning and a fan, and breakfast is included in the room price — fried eggs or an omelette, served until 9 am.
The guesthouse is family-run: the owner, Mr. Meng, and his family handle check-in and day-to-day requests themselves. Staff help with luggage on arrival and can give practical information about the area. They also arrange tours and transfers, including hiring a tuk tuk driver for Angkor, and bicycles are available to rent on site.
It suits travellers who want a cheap, central base for visiting the temples and the town rather than hotel-standard facilities. The location puts Angkor Wat, Pub Street, the old market and the night market within easy reach, with food courts, coffee shops, markets and restaurants nearby. Guests wh...

Good to know
Breakfast is included in the room price and is served until 9 am, with a choice of fried eggs or an omelette. Bicycles can be rented at the guesthouse, and the owner can arrange tours and transfers, including a tuk tuk driver for Angkor — confirm which temple loop is covered before agreeing a price. One guest reported being charged the full room rate despite having paid a deposit through a booking site, so it is worth checking how a prepaid deposit will be handled at check-in.
Ta Som Guest House is conveniently located in Siem Reap, just a short distance from the city center, making it an excellent base for exploring the nearby temples and attractions. The proximity to Angkor Wat and the vibrant Pub Street offers both cultural experiences and entertainment options within easy reach.
The arrival and check-in process at Ta Som Guest House was smooth and hassle-free. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who were friendly and eager to assist with my luggage. The check-in was efficient, and I was quickly shown to my room. The staff also provided helpful information about the local area and tips for visiting the temples.
The service at Ta Som Guest House was one of its standout features. The staff were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. They were always available to assist with any requests, whether it was arranging transportation, providing local recommendations, or helping with travel plans. The level of hospitality and personalized service made the experience feel warm and welcoming.
Ta Som Guest House offers excellent value for money. The room rates were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the accommodation and the level of service provided. It’s a great option for budget-conscious travelers who don’t want to compromise on comfort or convenience.
I would highly recommend Ta Som Guest House to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay while exploring the wo
Nice place to stay, not far from Angkor Wat, surrounding by the food court, coffee shop, markets, etc.. The room price is cheap, comfortable beds, with AC and fan. Old style house, make us feels like we visiting the old friend's house, very polite and friendly owner. Staying at here for 2 nights.
It's a good value for money. I have to admit that it is not the cleanest place in Cambodia that I've been sleeping in. However owners are very friendly and super helpful. There is a walking distance to the cite centre, very good location, close to the river. Breakfast is included in the price (fried eggs or omlet). You can also rent a bicycle here.
Can’t say I’d recommend this place. It was fairly dirty. Breakfast was just okay, and only goes until 9 am. Air con was mediocre as well.
Every time I had to ask the owner something I felt like an inconvenience, but he was usually accommodating. When I paid to hire a tuk tuk driver for Angkor, I was conveniently not told that I was only paying for the small loop.
I was also charged the full amount for the room despite having paid a deposit on HostelWorld. Wouldn’t stay here again.
