The room is nice for a cheap price I got on Agoda. It's clean and comfortable for a short stay. What's strange is that I see that there is like a balcony from my window on the second floor, but there's no access to it. Yeah, I walked around to check how to get to the balcony. But there isn't an entrance. The whole floor was just room after room. The location is great. It's easy and fast to reach anywhere in Kampot. It's also close to many bus stations which make things a lot easier.

A solid choice for a hotel in Kampot. Pros are… a modern room and nice bed, the tinted windows give you plenty of darkness in the morning, a shared balcony, strong AC, and friendly staff. Good price ($22 usd per night). The cons are… very overpriced laundry (I paid $13 usd for about 6 kilos of laundry, where a local shop can do it for normally under $3), tv fully broken and kept turning off after 10 seconds of playing any video, and really noisy birds 🦜🔈 live next door are charming at first but get annoying if staying here for more than one night. Even with the cons, I still would recommend this hotel.

Great location. Very reasonably priced. The room was a good size and clean. The room didn't have a fridge and the pillows had seen better days and they really need to be replaced. The bed was extremely creaky. The walls are thin , so you could here other guests. The staff were helpful especially the dining area staff. The dining area was good and offered a good variety of Khmer and western food. Only opens from 6am until 2pm. For a short stay this place is good.

We had a wonderful stay at Soursdei Boutique. The location is excellent—everything you need is just a short walk away from riversides to restaurants. The service was consistently good, with staff who were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, it’s still a great place to stay if you want convenience.

Extremely disturbing experience due to the manager’s behaviour. I was feeling unwell and asked several times if I could extend my stay or even book another night to rest. Instead of helping, the manager shouted at me aggressively on multiple occasions. He behaved in a deeply disrespectful way, laughing at me and even bringing colleagues to join him. In the end I had to leave the hotel while feeling sick and exhausted. This was one of the most humiliating and unprofessional experiences I have ever had with hotel management.

The Bookshop, Kampot

Cafés & bakeries 24 m 1 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

The Bookshop, Kampot is 24 m south of Suorsdei Boutique — about 1 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Suorsdei Boutique are Douceurs de Kampot (109 m) and Blend House Cafè & Zen House Yoga (150 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Bookshop in Kampot is a combined café and bookstore occupying a two-level space on Street 722. Downstairs serves as a café paired with a souvenir section, while upstairs functions as a relaxed reading area. The shop stocks new and second-hand books in English, French, and Khmer, and operates a book exchange service where visitors can swap titles they have brought with them. The outdoor patio faces Street 722 with minimal traffic noise.

Visitors consistently praise the coffee and the friendly staff. The banana bread and red tea latte are specifically mentioned as standouts. The book selection across multiple languages draws repeat visits, and the upstairs seating area is described as a calm spot to read, study, or play games. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. One note: the upstairs books show visible wear from humidity, and new books are wrapped in plastic for protection, though this packaging does not entirely prevent age marks on the stock itself.

The café opens daily from 8 am to 7 pm. It works well for travellers wanting a quiet afternoon with coffee and a read, or those hunting for second-hand English-language books. The book exchange makes it practical for extended stays. The outdoor seating and breeze make late afternoon a popular time. Bring a book to swap if you plan to pick up used titles.

Restaurants 25 m 1 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

Greenhouse ( restaurant & coffee ) is 25 m north-east of Suorsdei Boutique — about 1 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Suorsdei Boutique are Simple Things (147 m) and Laundry Cafe Burger Bar (186 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Greenhouse is a small restaurant and café in central Kampot serving traditional Khmer dishes alongside breakfast items and coffee. The space is decorated with colorful walls and art, created and run by the owner. The menu includes curries, noodle dishes, rice plates, and items like granola, pancakes, and toast, with drinks noted as strong and generously poured.

Visitors consistently praise the atmosphere and the owner's friendliness and hospitality. The food quality is described as excellent, with affordable prices and generous portions. Some guests mention the experience of painting their names on a mural wall. However, service can be uneven: food sometimes arrives slowly or at different times within a group, and occasionally items from orders have been missed, though the owner makes quick corrections. One visitor found the 30-minute wait notable.

The restaurant is open Monday through Tuesday only (9 AM to 9 PM or 9:30 PM respectively) and closed the rest of the week, so check hours before visiting. It sits on a quiet street and tends to be quieter during the day. The affordable prices and casual, welcoming atmosphere make it a good fit for travellers wanting an unhurried meal and a chance to meet the owner, though those prioritising fast service should manage expectations.

Cafés & bakeries 109 m 1 min walk 4.6/5 on Google

Douceurs de Kampot is 109 m south-west of Suorsdei Boutique — about 1 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Suorsdei Boutique are The Bookshop, Kampot (24 m) and Blend House Cafè & Zen House Yoga (150 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Douceurs de Kampot is a French-owned cafe on Street 724 in Kampot serving baked goods, pastries, quiches, and a wide range of hot and cold drinks. The display cases hold a rotating selection of cakes including carrot cake, tiramisu, lemon cheesecake, lemon meringue tart, and black forest cake, alongside savoury items like baguettes and panini. The interior is air-conditioned and decorated in a homely style. The drinks menu covers coffee, tea, bubble tea, and milk tea, with soy milk available for vegan customers.

Visitors consistently praise the quality of the baked goods and fresh ingredients, particularly the baguettes, quiches, and cakes. The coffee and tea receive strong marks. Staff are noted as friendly and attentive, willing to adjust orders and accommodate requests. Some guests mention that prices are reasonable. A loyalty programme offers a keychain after multiple drink purchases. With over 180 reviews, the cafe has built a reputation as a reliable stop for lunch or an afternoon snack, though it draws enough traffic that queues are possible during peak times.

The cafe operates daily from 8 AM to 9 PM, making it accessible for breakfast, lunch, or an evening dessert. It works well for travellers seeking familiar French-style pastries, a comfortable air-conditioned space, or vegetarian and vegan options. It sits near other cafes on the same street, so it is easy to find and part of the local cafe cluster.

Restaurants 147 m 2 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

Simple Things is 147 m south of Suorsdei Boutique — about 2 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Suorsdei Boutique are Greenhouse ( restaurant & coffee ) (25 m) and Laundry Cafe Burger Bar (186 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Simple Things sits in Kampot's Old Market area and serves vegetarian and vegan cuisine. The restaurant is open daily from 8 AM to 10 PM, offering a relaxed dining space with straightforward, plant-based cooking. Visitors describe the aesthetic as simple and thoughtfully decorated, with a considered music playlist that contributes to the atmosphere. Portions are large across the menu.

Guests consistently praise the vegetarian and vegan options, with the vegan burger, crispy tofu wrap, and rice bowls drawing repeated mention. A long-term vegan traveller noted this as a standout meal after months in Southeast Asia. The brinjal starter and various rice-based dishes receive specific endorsement. Service is described as friendly and attentive. One reservation: the tofu wrap disappointed at least one visitor, who found it flavourless and compared it to a salad sandwich—though they returned to try other dishes, suggesting the issue may not be systematic.

The restaurant works well for vegetarians and vegans spending time in Kampot, and for anyone seeking meat-free meals in a convivial setting. Portions mean dishes suit sharing or work as substantial solo meals. It functions as a breakfast, lunch, and dinner destination, though hours suggest it closes on Sundays. The Old Market location is central to Kampot's tourist quarter, making it easy to reach on foot.

Spa & wellness 148 m 2 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

Bali Massage Kampot is 148 m south-east of Suorsdei Boutique — about 2 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “spa & wellness”.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from Suorsdei Boutique are Golden Hands Massage & Spa (267 m) and Nibi Spa (7.0 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

A massage spa in Kampot offering a range of treatments including traditional Khmer massage, foot and leg massage, and four-hand sessions, with complimentary tea served alongside. The space is set up for walk-in and booked appointments, with therapists working individually or in pairs depending on the treatment chosen.

Most visitors come away impressed, singling out particular therapists by name and describing the Khmer massage and four-hand sessions as well executed and reasonably priced, with the synchronized four-hand work drawing repeat praise. The complimentary tea and friendly staff are mentioned as a nice touch. That said, the reviews are not uniform: a couple of visitors found the room cold or the air conditioning poorly maintained, and one described the experience as underwhelming for a specific problem area, noting that pressure and technique did not meet expectations despite trying to communicate through gestures. Oil use appears to carry an extra charge, which caught at least one guest off guard.

Given the mixed but largely positive feedback, this suits travellers looking for an affordable, no-frills massage stop in Kampot rather than a luxury spa experience. It is open daily from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, making it easy to fit in after a day out or before dinner. Guests wanting a specific technique or pressure level should communicate clearly beforehand, since a language barrier has occasionally led to mismatched expectations. Those sensitive to cold rooms might ask about the air conditioning setting in advance. Overall it works well for those after a relaxed, wallet-friendly session, particularly if requesting Leak or the Dilan and Sopheak pairing for four-hand massage.

Cafés & bakeries 150 m 2 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

Blend House Cafè & Zen House Yoga is 150 m south-west of Suorsdei Boutique — about 2 minutes on foot. Of the 5 places under “cafés & bakeries” within a kilometre of the hotel, this is the best rated.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Suorsdei Boutique are The Bookshop, Kampot (24 m) and Douceurs de Kampot (109 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Blend House Cafè & Zen House Yoga sits down a small alleyway off the riverfront road in Kampot, combining a café with a yoga studio upstairs. The daily menu runs to bagels made fresh in house, smoothie bowls, and coffee, with both indoor and outdoor seating for those who want to linger over breakfast or a midday coffee.

Visitors consistently mention the calm, welcoming atmosphere and the attentiveness of the staff, often naming the owners Chris and Ali directly for their warmth. The smoked salmon bagel, smashed avo bagel, and protein smoothie bowl come up repeatedly as favourites, alongside praise for the coffee and flat white. Several guests who joined the yoga classes describe them as genuinely grounding, and the combined Backpacker Package of a class plus food is mentioned as good value. Oat milk availability is called out as a welcome plus for those who need it. No complaints or caveats surface in the reviews, though more than one visitor admits to returning day after day, which suggests the appeal holds up beyond a single visit.

The café opens at 8am and closes at 3pm every day except Thursday, when it is shut, so this is a breakfast-and-lunch spot rather than an evening one. It suits travellers looking for a quiet break from Kampot's busier bar streets, and is worth building a morning around if you want to try a yoga class before or after eating, since sessions run upstairs on a daily basis. Given the alleyway location, it helps to know roughly where you are heading rather than expecting it to be visible from the main road.

Laundry Cafe Burger Bar is a casual burger restaurant on Street 74 in central Kampot, serving made-to-order burgers alongside steaks and fries. The space has a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and a music playlist that suits lingering over a meal. Portions are generous.

Visitors consistently praise the quality of the beef patties, which are juicy and cooked well, paired with fresh buns and thoughtful topping combinations—the swiss cheese and jalapeño cheese fries appear frequently in reviews. Prices are reasonable for the quality; a Friday discount brings most burgers down to $5. The main drawback is popularity: the restaurant draws crowds, and waits of around 40 minutes are common during peak times. One reviewer noted the buns could benefit from more toasting, though this is a minor note among otherwise strong feedback.

The restaurant opens daily from noon to 10 PM, making it suitable for lunch or dinner. It works well if you're staying in Kampot town and want a reliable meal without fuss. Plan to arrive outside busy hours if you prefer not to wait, or embrace the wait as part of the experience—the volume of returning visitors suggests most think it worthwhile. It suits travellers craving straightforward, quality burgers rather than fine dining.

Krong Kampot is 195 m north-east of Suorsdei Boutique — about 2 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Suorsdei Boutique are Seahorse Statue (503 m) and Farm Link (1.1 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Krong Kampot is a riverside town in southern Cambodia that has become a growing destination for both local and international visitors. The town sits along the Preaek Tuek Chhu River and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding region, including access to Bokor National Park, pepper farms, and fruit plantations. Visitors find a mix of attractions: colonial-era architecture from the French period, waterfront promenades, boat trips (including evening firefly-watching tours), and fresh seafood restaurants. The town itself operates at a slow pace, with the option to walk through streets with river breezes or explore nearby agricultural areas.

What draws people to Kampot is its unhurried atmosphere and variety of activities within reach. Visitors consistently praise the charm of the old buildings, the relaxed feel of the place, and the quality of local food, particularly the seafood and the region's famous pepper. A pepper farm tour comes recommended by multiple visitors. The riverfront area is noted as pleasant for strolling and watching sunsets. However, some visitors suggest a day or two is sufficient rather than a longer stay, and at least one mentioned that the water quality near the town centre can appear murky. The town is acknowledged as fairly commercial, though this has brought a decent range of restaurants and hotels.

Kampot works best for travellers seeking a quieter stop with cultural and culinary interest rather than a beach resort atmosphere. The pace suits those wanting to rest between busier destinations. The nearby pepper farms and access to Bokor National Park make it useful as a base for day trips. Most visitors see it as a worthwhile detour for one to three days while travelling through southern Cambodia.
