Extremely disappointing stay at Sarina Boutique Hotel in Phnom Penh.
1. Air-Conditioner Problem:
The air-conditioner was one of the worst parts of the stay. It kept turning off by itself repeatedly and could not cool the room properly at all. Even after waiting for a long time, the room remained hot and uncomfortable. Sleeping at night was very difficult because of the heat.
2. Poor Response From Receptionist:
I reported the problem and requested to change rooms. Some staff mentioned that there were available rooms, but the receptionist showed no willingness to assist. No proper solution was offered, no follow-up was made, and the attitude felt careless toward guest concerns.
3. Very Bad Room Lighting:
The room lighting was extremely poor. At night, the room felt very dark even with all the lights turned on. The only real source of brightness came from sunlight during the daytime, while the room lights themselves were weak and insufficient. The atmosphere felt gloomy and uncomfortable.
4. Unprofessional Staff Attitude:
The customer service quality was poor. Some staff members spoke without politeness or hospitality standards expected from hotel service personnel. Guests should feel welcomed and respected, but unfortunately that was not the case during my stay.
5. Parking and Location Issue:
The hotel has very limited parking space, which creates inconvenience for guests traveling by car. Finding parking nearby is difficult and stressful, especially during busy hours.

We loved this hotel! The manager was amazing and so helpful. The staff were all cheerful and seemed eager to assist beyond expectations. We ended up staying here over a month due to our circumstances. We loved the swimming pool and the delicious breakfasts that had great variety and choices. Thanks to all at Sarina Boutique!
Fantastic stay at Sarina Boutique Hotel! The rooms are clean, modern, and very comfortable. The pool area provides a great place to unwind after exploring the city, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive. Highly recommended.
A RAT FELL IN THE SWIMMING POOL AND THE STAFF DID NOTHING 🫠
My wife and I booked this hotel for a staycation in Phnom Penh. Apparently, the reviews here on Google were very good (suspicious), so we gave it a shot. We selected this hotel mainly because of the swimming pool as we don't have one in our place. While we were hanging out by the pool, a rat passed through our feet and feel in the swimming pool (it may have been running away from the hotel's cat). The rat managed to leave the swimming pool and went toward our room (right beside it). My wife kept screaming because she hates rats and the staff really didn't bother (or didn't know what to do). The rat ended up hiding in one of the cracks beside the swimming pool and that was it. No one bothered anymore and left it there.
Anyway, we left the swimming pool and went to the room, which was ok, spacious, and comfortable. But my wife didn't want to leave the room anymore afraid of the rats.
The breakfast was also very disappointing, the staff couldn't refill the food on time. The coffee mug was so small I had to refill my coffee a dozen times.
The location is not very good and the street is noisy.
Overall our experience was not good.
I live in Cambodia for 2 years already and I haven’t seen a RAT on the swimming pool before. I booked this place for the Valentine’s Day and ended up a nightmare. We were by the pool reading our books when suddenly an enormous rat crossed by our feet, fell on the SWIMMING POOL, got out and ran towards our room. I screamed and asked the staff to do something about it, at least grab the rat, but no initiative whatsoever. Furthermore, when we went for breakfast, all fruits and plates/cuttlery were gone and no replacement for a while. I needed to go there on the reception to ask for it. The staff really needs more hospitality training and initiative. Also, the place is noisy!
