Sanssouci Kep Bungalows is a resort-style bungalow property on Street 2338 in Kep, Cambodia, built around a swimming pool and set among trees on a private, green plot. Accommodation is in bungalows rather than standard hotel rooms; the studio twin, for example, is a spacious room with plenty of natural light, a fridge, a kettle, a hot and cold shower, and a kitchen area with utensils and cooking materials, so you can prepare your own meals during a stay.
The pool is roughly five feet deep, has a separate shallow area with a small slide for children, and is kept clean without a heavy chlorine smell. There is also a small sauna and spa space, with both indoor and outdoor areas. Breakfast and other meals are served on site and are simple in style. The owner, John, is present day to day and oversees how the property runs, alongside the staff.

The property sits on Street 2338 in a local neighbourhood in downtown Kep. It is not on the beach, and it is a fair distance from local Khmer restaurants; a few Western restaurants are nearby but cost noticeably more. Cycling or scooter works well for getting around, and the grounds themselves are green, quiet and shaded by trees.

The property is open daily from 7 AM to 9 PM. Bungalows come with a fridge, kettle, hot and cold shower, and a kitchen with utensils and cooking materials, so self-catering is practical. Without your own vehicle, transport can be hard to arrange; one guest reported spending around $10 USD a day travelling to the beach and elsewhere.
The rooms here are more like guesthouses, and the breakfast and other meals are fairly basic. However, the rooms have cooking utensils, so you can cook for yourself. The children really enjoyed the swimming pool; it's not a hotel-sized pool, but it's much cleaner than a river.I also love the trees and the starry sky here, but because the location is a bit remote, the entrance is a little hard to find. But overall, it's a great place for families to have a vacation, and I really like it here.
Stayed in a studio twin room with my family.
Staff: Very accommodating and friendly
Room: Spacious, perfect for family with kids, has a lot of natural light and clean. They have fridge, kettle, hot and cold shower and kitchen with utensils and cooking materials
Pool: Very clean and chlorine is not strong. Has area for kids and has a little slide for kids to enjoy. They also have a little space for sauna!
Location: We love the location. Not really a beachfront hotel which makes it perfect. A lot greens which makes the area cool with fresh air, so quiet and relaxing.
All in all, we had a great relaxing experience. The hotel itself is eco friendly. We will surely come back and will recommend this to our friends.
Good place natural. Good staff. Very clean place.the owner john is present and making shure everything is running properly and staff friendly.
Thank You for the accommodation
The place is decent and has a nice resort-style feel, with a clean and inviting pool about 5 feet deep. Visually, it’s well-kept and relaxing. However, the location is not ideal—it’s far from the beach and quite a distance from any local Khmer restaurants. While there are a few Western restaurants nearby, they’re noticeably more expensive. If you're looking to enjoy affordable local food, you’ll need to travel.
Getting around is another challenge. Unless you're renting a vehicle, it’s difficult to find transportation. I ended up spending around $10 USD a day just commuting to the beach and other areas. Also worth noting: there’s no phone in the room, which makes it inconvenient if you need to contact reception or arrange anything.
Breakfast isn’t buffet-style and must be ordered in the morning, which might not suit everyone. The biggest downside during my stay was the sewage smell coming from the bathroom—it was quite unpleasant.
Overall, it was a decent stay for the price, especially if you book online. However, better deals can often be found locally through Facebook groups or by asking around once you're in the city.
