Resort located 5 minutes from the city In the middle of lotus fields. It is very quiet and charming. Shaded by mango trees in a well-kept lush garden, with a swimming pool and a lotus field. The family that runs the property is very nice and and very helpful if needed. Glad to have met them. I recommend this atypical place if you want to be outside the known center of Siem Reap to spend a lovely week.

One of the cleanest, well-priced resorts in Siem Reap. Located right on the outskirts of town amidst lotus ponds and rice fields makes for a stunning evening walk. Easy commute to the city for the night life and far enough away from the loud karaoke and wedding parties.

Very hospitable people. They made us feel like home. This is a very good place to stay that isn't in the heart of the city. You still have that quiet vibe. The place is exeptional. You have the option to cook. It's like your own house but more like a hotel. The ambience is also very relaxing.

Quiet and clean, nice people, good service, and home made cooking is excellent. Less than 30 mins by tuktuk to Old Market and Pub Street. You can find wonderful views from sun rise to sunset on the roof!

FAMILY and Peacefulness Ahhhhhhh, the serenity. Instantly relaxed you’ll feel when you arrive at this beautifully landscaped location. I extended my stay. Lucky for me because they are booked out most of the time. Barang, his wife Phally and their family members will adopt you into their loving care. I can be an extremely challenging guest to have at times with particular requests. Barang picked me up in his 4WD and as soon as we shook hands, I knew I was going to make a long standing friend. Barang stopped everywhere I needed to shop for food, phone card and medicine which I can tell you is not a usual doing for any resort owner. On the way to his place, he was a wealth of knowledge for the questions I had, which are not your usual touristy type inquiries. When we arrived I was quite taken back when introduced to his Mum who gave me a very warm welcoming hug. I was offered to join them to help eat the food they’d just prepared. Ry’s Lotus Resort is out of town enough to give you the feeling of being in the countryside but close enough to the main hub of Siem Reap for a pleasant tuk tuk ride there and back to explore. The actual rooms vary from quaint one bedroom to two bedrooms with a fully equipped kitchen and huge fridge. Daily cleaning is very thorough, done by two very sweet shy and smiley girls. They’re always happy and laughing and why wouldn’t you be when you have bosses like Phally and Barang. The pool is soooooo refreshing and made very well with its uniq

Phsa Kraom Market

Markets 2.9 km 4.3/5 on Google

Phsa Kraom Market is 2.9 km north-east of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “markets”.

The other place under “markets” within reach of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor is Phsar Leu Thom Tmey (6.2 km).

Phsa Kraom Market is a working wet market in Siem Reap where locals buy groceries, prepared food, and everyday supplies. The stalls sell fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, meat, poultry, spices, and prepared dishes from early morning through evening. Street food vendors offer Khmer noodles, grilled items, fried bananas, and other snacks at low prices. The market also stocks cloth, housewares, and other goods, typically cheaper than the central Siem Reap market. This is not a tourist market, and the selection and activity level are highest in the early hours.

Visitors consistently describe this as an authentic local experience, though opinions on the atmosphere vary. Many appreciate the genuine Cambodian setting, the quality and variety of fresh produce, and the affordable prices. The market can be chaotic and rough around the edges, which some find adds to its authenticity. Others note that the meat and seafood sections can be unsettling—the butchering happens openly and visibly, which may discomfort some visitors. The road outside has potholes and fairly heavy traffic, requiring care when walking.

The market opens at 5:00 AM and closes at 9:00 PM daily, with the busiest and most well-stocked period in early morning. Wear comfortable shoes and watch your footing on the uneven pavement. This suits travellers seeking genuine interaction with local life and affordable Cambodian food rather than a sanitised shopping experience. Those sensitive to live animal processing or crowded, unpolished environments should manage expectations accordingly.

Spa & wellness 3.4 km 4.7/5 on Google

The Secret Eden Spa is 3.4 km north-east of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “spa & wellness”.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor are The Spa Siem Reap (3.9 km) and Relax Spa (4.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Secret Eden Spa sits on Sok San Road in central Siem Reap, offering massage and body treatments in a setting visitors describe as peaceful and quietly designed. The spa provides shuttle pickup and drop-off to and from hotels, and treatment rooms are separate, clean spaces with private facilities. Visitors consistently mention the calm atmosphere and the quality of the massage work itself as reasons to return.

Guests praise the skill of the therapists and the accuracy of deep tissue work, with several noting they have had better massages here than elsewhere. The reasonable pricing relative to the quality of treatment comes up repeatedly. Staff are described as warm and welcoming—the reception area greets visitors with iced tea and a cold face cloth. Communication through WhatsApp for same-day bookings is reportedly fast. No significant complaints appear in visitor feedback; the main point of consistent recommendation is the combination of professional technique, peaceful setting, and value.

The spa opens daily from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM (closed Sundays). It suits anyone in Siem Reap wanting a massage or body scrub without the hassle of arranging transport, and works well for repeat treatments during a stay. Booking through their WhatsApp number appears to be the practical approach, particularly if you want same-day availability. The location on a quieter lane means you can step away from central Siem Reap's busier streets.

The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor is 3.8 km north-east of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor are Pub Street (4.1 km) and Lotus Silk Farm (4.1 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor is a working craft center in Siem Reap where visitors can watch artisans create traditional Cambodian pieces. The space is organized into workshops for stone carving, wood carving, metal work, silk weaving, and painting. You can walk through these areas during production and observe the techniques firsthand. Many visitors mention a hands-on station where you can try stone carving yourself. After the workshop tour, there is a large gift shop selling finished pieces made on-site.

Visitors consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere and the skill of the artisans, who are generally happy to explain their work and allow photography. The open workshop layout means you see the actual creative process rather than a staged demonstration. Most people report the experience takes around 45 minutes. A common note is that prices are higher than in other souvenir shops, though visitors accept this because the pieces are made directly by the artisans and the center can arrange worldwide shipping. Entry is free, though you are expected to visit the shop.

The site is open daily from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. It works well if you want to understand how Cambodian crafts are actually made and buy directly from makers rather than through middlemen. Go in off-peak season if you prefer a quieter, more personalized experience, or expect busier periods during high tourist season.

Bars 3.8 km 4.5/5 on Google

Charms Cambodia is 3.8 km north-east of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor are Ambar Cocktails & Karaoke Bar (4.0 km) and ASANA OLD WOODEN HOUSE Cocktail Bar (4.2 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Charms Cambodia is a bar on Steung Thmei in central Siem Reap, positioned near the main pub district. The space is described as roomy and includes pool tables. It operates from 5 PM to 2 AM daily. The bar employs a predominantly female staff, which shapes the nature of the venue and the experience visitors report.

Visitors consistently praise the friendly service and affordable drinks. The atmosphere and music receive positive mentions. Guests note the bar's proximity to Pub Street makes it accessible for an evening out. However, opinions divide on the primary draw: some appreciate the social aspect with staff, while others find the focus on staff interaction as the main attraction either appealing or intrusive depending on what they seek from a night out. A handful of visitors express frustration with the 2 AM closing time, noting that competing venues nearby stay open later and still draw customers at that hour.

The bar suits those looking for a casual evening with pool games and drinks in the company of a young, friendly team. It's best visited after 5 PM, any night of the week. Expectations should be calibrated to the bar's model as a staff-interaction venue rather than a quiet spot for conversation or a music-focused club. The early closing time is worth noting if you plan a later night.

Restaurants 3.9 km 4.9/5 on Google

Old Maison Eatery is 3.9 km north-east of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor are Graines de Piaf (3.9 km) and Wild (3.9 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Tucked into the quieter Wat Damnak area of Siem Reap, Old Maison Eatery is a Khmer restaurant with a rustic, well-finished interior that several visitors compare favourably to smarter Western dining rooms. The menu covers local staples alongside some Western dishes, with rice crackers and shrimp fritters served as starters and mains that run from beef lok lak and fish amok to a beef saraman curry. It opens daily from 3:00 to 10:30 PM.

Reviewers are consistent on a few points: the rice crackers with their dipping sauce and the shrimp fritters with pepper sauce are repeatedly singled out, and the saraman curry and lok lak also draw praise. Food prices are described as affordable for the quality and portion size, though one visitor noted drinks run a bit pricier. Service comes up again and again as a highlight, with staff described as attentive, warm, and willing to bring extras like more dipping sauce without being asked. A couple of reviewers mention minor misses, such as fried rice with slightly dry chicken or shrimp fritters that were fine but unremarkable, though these are framed as small quibbles rather than real complaints. More than one guest calls the restaurant among the better meals of their whole Siem Reap trip.

Given how often reviewers mention the place being busy, booking ahead is worth doing rather than turning up on spec, especially in the evening. The setting suits couples and families looking for a proper sit-down dinner rather than a quick bite, and it works well as an introduction to Khmer cuisine for visitors who want familiar comforts like fries alongside more traditional dishes.

The Spa Siem Reap

Spa & wellness 3.9 km 4.8/5 on Google

The Spa Siem Reap is 3.9 km north-east of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor — a short ride rather than a walk.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor are The Secret Eden Spa (3.4 km) and Relax Spa (4.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Set on Sok San Road, this spa occupies a spacious, well-appointed building where the arrival ritual is part of the experience: a welcome drink, cold water or tea, and sometimes a foot cleanse before guests are guided upstairs to treatment rooms. Facials, body scrubs, wraps and massages, including longer couples sessions with add-ons, are among the treatments on offer, carried out in clean, quiet rooms with soft background music.

Reviewers are consistently positive about the setting and the service around the treatment itself: the foyer, the hospitality touches like tea served afterward, and the professionalism and warmth of the staff come up again and again. Several guests single out particular therapists by name for attentiveness and care, and more than one review notes that pricing feels straightforward rather than inflated with constant discounts. The massages themselves get a slightly more mixed response — most call them relaxing and good, but a few describe them as solid rather than exceptional, with one guest mentioning a minor lapse in a therapist's personal hygiene that briefly took away from the experience.

The spa runs late, open from mid-morning until 11:30pm most days, which suits both an afternoon stop after temple visits and an evening wind-down before dinner. Booking ahead is sensible for longer or couples' treatments, though at least one guest managed to get in with only two hours' notice, and the staff have been described as flexible with appointment times. It works well for travellers wanting a proper pampering session — facial, scrub, wrap or massage — in surroundings that feel more considered than purely functional, though those chasing the single best massage of their trip may want to temper expectations slightly.

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap is 3.9 km north-east of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cinema”.

The other place under “cinema” within reach of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor is Legend Cinemas Siem Reap (5.0 km).

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap is a multiplex cinema located on Sivutha Road in central Siem Reap, operating daily from 9 AM to 11:30 PM. The venue offers multiple screens showing a mix of international films, mostly in 3D format, alongside 2D options. The ground floor has a snack bar serving popcorn and basic refreshments. Screens are equipped with air conditioning and working sound systems, with seating that includes adjustable armrests.

Visitors consistently praise the comfortable seating, clear audio, and reasonable ticket prices, typically around $2.50 to $3 per ticket. The air-conditioned environment is noted as a welcome relief in the tropical heat. However, guests mention several recurring issues: the men's toilets frequently malfunction, the snack selection is limited to popcorn and microwaved items with few alternatives, and while screen quality is adequate for enjoying films, it is not considered premium. Some visitors also report that most American releases are shown in 3D rather than 2D. The bakery that once operated here is no longer available. One visitor mentioned dark stairs inside the theater, though another dispute this observation.

This cinema suits visitors looking for an affordable movie experience during their stay in Siem Reap, particularly those seeking air-conditioned refuge during midday heat. It works best for flexible moviegoers who are not particular about snack options or cutting-edge screen technology. Arrive early if you have specific preferences for 2D showings, as 3D films dominate the schedule. Ticket prices make it accessible for casual viewing, but plan bathroom needs carefully given the reported maintenance issues with male facilities.

Graines de Piaf is 3.9 km north-east of Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor — a short ride rather than a walk. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Ry's Lotus Resort d'Angkor are Old Maison Eatery (3.9 km) and Wild (3.9 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Tucked on Funky Lane in Siem Reap, Graines de Piaf is a small French restaurant open evenings only, run by a French owner who cooks and often talks guests through the menu himself. Dishes mentioned by visitors include bavette, magret de canard, pork filet with truffle sauce, duck in mustard sauce, beef fillet and creme brûlé, with meals typically served with salad and bread in the French style, alongside wine the owner is happy to pair with the food.

Reviews are consistently positive, with guests praising the quality and freshness of the cooking, reasonable prices, and the warmth of the owner, who is repeatedly described as friendly, passionate and attentive, including to non-French speakers thanks to an English menu. The one recurring caveat is space: the dining room is small and can get crowded and noisy on busy nights, with karaoke inside, so some diners have ended up seated outside among smokers, which they actually found quieter than the interior.

This is a place for an evening meal rather than a casual lunch, since it only opens from 6pm to midnight. It suits travellers who have had their fill of local cuisine and want a properly cooked French dinner with wine, or anyone curious about a small, personally run kitchen rather than a large restaurant. Given the limited seating and evident popularity, arriving early or booking ahead is worth considering, especially on weekends, and those who prefer a quiet indoor setting might ask about seating before committing to a table.
