I got mocked by the receptionist immediately upon arrival, during check-in. Once I handed him my passport, he saw that I'm from Russia and started teasing me: "Rusi, Rusi... where you come from". That was unprofessional and even degrading on a human level. I didn't choose to be born there...
On the evening of the same day, while returning to the hotel, I got stopped by the evening employee. "Hello bong, you have room? Room number!", he said.
When I enter a hotel, I expect to be welcomed with a smile, not being stopped like a criminal. I have just travelled for 2 months in Thailand and for 3 months in Vietnam. Never have I encountered such treatment in those countries! Here they know how to mock and how to humiliate!
The room was shabby, especially when I checked in, although some repairs have been done during my stay, at my request. When I checked in, the siphon tube was clogged, and water from the washbasin used to leak onto the floor. The faucet was quite clogged too: water was coming at a very low pressure.
Luckily, the staff workman replaced the siphon tube and the faucet the next day, after I let the reception know. He is indeed a skilled workman! I personally admire people who are good at plumbing and electricity.
The water heater didn't work when I checked in. The workman came and made it work, but it went off again when I wanted to shower 20 minutes later. I didn't want to overcomplain, so I chose not to say anything again that day. But I did mention it two days lat
