Niradei Holiday House

The Wave - Kep West Restaurant in Kep is 12.1 km south-east of Niradei Holiday House — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Niradei Holiday House are Magic Crab (12.6 km) and Holy Crab (12.7 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Wave is a restaurant on the waterfront in Kep offering a mix of seafood, sandwiches, coffee, and Khmer dishes in a setting designed around sea views. It operates daily from 7 AM to 10 PM and draws visitors who come as much for the atmosphere and coastal scenery as for the food. The venue has modern décor and outdoor seating that faces the water, making it popular with travellers passing through or staying nearby.

Visitors praise the setting and overall ambiance consistently. The views and relaxing surroundings are the strongest draws, and service staff are often attentive. However, opinions split on other aspects. Some find the prices high relative to what they receive. Food quality is uneven—seafood dishes like amok and Khmer shaved ice draw positive mentions, but execution falters in places: a crab sandwich came with watery mayo and lost its flavour in the bread, and there have been reports of menu mismatches, such as green tea served instead of matcha. Coffee is generally appreciated, though some find beverages basic for the setting. A few visitors have also noted that the physical condition of certain parts of the property could use maintenance and updates.

The restaurant suits visitors looking for a scenic spot to pause during a day trip to Kep, particularly for coffee, drinks, or sunset. If you are coming for a full meal, manage expectations about consistency. Prices sit toward the higher end for the area. It can get busy with people more interested in photos than dining, which may affect your experience depending on when you visit. The location makes it a natural stop between Kompot and Kep, though the quality of individual dishes varies enough that ordering cautiously—perhaps sticking to items other diners have praised—makes sense.

Kep Crab Market is 12.5 km south-east of Niradei Holiday House — a short ride rather than a walk.

Kep Crab Market sprawls across multiple tent-covered sections near the water in Kep, serving as both a working seafood market and a place where visitors come to eat. The market is dominated by fresh and live crabs, but also sells dried seafood, fried preparations, and general goods like clothes and toys. Vendors operate from stalls and boats, and many will cook your chosen seafood to order while you wait.

Visitors consistently praise the freshness of the crabs and the opportunity to select your own catch and have it prepared immediately, often with green pepper or garlic. The prices are regarded as reasonable, and vendors are frequently described as friendly and willing to let customers sample items. One regular caveat appears in reviews: the combination of multiple tents overhead and active cooking stations creates considerable smoke accumulation, which some visitors note may bother those with respiratory sensitivity. The eating experience itself is messy—crab requires hands-on work and wet napkins are advisable. Crowds can be intense, and some visitors mention jostling, though the atmosphere is generally described as energetic rather than unwelcoming.

The market operates daily from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Arrive early for the fullest selection and liveliest experience, though it remains active throughout the day. Wear clothes you don't mind getting soiled, and bring napkins or plan to use the on-site bathroom. It suits visitors seeking an authentic local market experience and fresh seafood prepared on the spot, rather than those looking for a polished or quiet shopping environment.

Magic Crab is 12.6 km south-east of Niradei Holiday House — a short ride rather than a walk. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Niradei Holiday House are The Wave - Kep West Restaurant in Kep (12.1 km) and Holy Crab (12.7 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Set right on the water in Kep, Magic Crab is a seafood restaurant built around the town's namesake ingredient, blue crab, served whole or worked into dishes like amok, stir-fries, spring rolls and fried rice. The owner, Sariem, runs the front of house and hand-painted much of the restaurant's decor, while his wife cooks; guests mention him personally showing diners how to eat the crab. The menu runs beyond crab too, with fish amok and cocktails, wine and passion fruit soda also mentioned by visitors.

Reviews are consistently positive and centre on the same points: the crab is fresh, tender and generously portioned, the amok crabmeat comes up repeatedly as a highlight and something several guests call the best they have had, and service is warm and attentive without being slow. More than one visitor notes the seafood tastes noticeably fresher here than elsewhere in Kep, and prices are described as fair for the quality and quantity. The setting by the sea, especially at sunset, is called out often enough to be a genuine draw rather than an afterthought.

Magic Crab suits travellers who want a straightforward, unfussy seafood meal rather than an elaborately plated one, and it works equally well for a relaxed lunch or a sunset dinner given the water-facing tables. It is open daily from noon until 10:30pm, so there is flexibility on timing. Reviewers suggest ordering the whole crab and the crab amok specifically, and tipping is mentioned as appreciated given how hard the small team works. Worth going with an appetite for crab rather than a broad seafood sampler, since that is clearly the kitchen's strength.

Holy Crab is 12.7 km south-east of Niradei Holiday House — a short ride rather than a walk. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Niradei Holiday House are The Wave - Kep West Restaurant in Kep (12.1 km) and Magic Crab (12.6 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Holy Crab sits on Kep's busy seafront street, a seafood restaurant with aesthetic decor that draws both tourists and repeat visitors. The menu centers on crab dishes prepared several ways—amok, in green pepper sauce, in tamarind sauce, fried with pepper—alongside grilled squid, prawns, and other catches. The restaurant claims to serve MSG-free food and also makes fresh juices, with lime and mint mentioned as worth trying.

Visitors consistently praise the quality and freshness of the seafood. Crab amok appears repeatedly in reviews as a standout dish, and the crab fried with pepper draws particular mention for how the meat holds up and blends with the sauce. Grilled squid with lemon Kampot pepper sauce also receives strong endorsement. Some diners compare it favorably to other seafood restaurants in the area and report never being disappointed. However, portions are occasionally noted as modest for the price, and cooking times can be longer than expected. Opinions on certain dishes diverge—the crab in green pepper sauce and tamarind sauce drew mixed reactions, with some finding the sauces too light or bland.

The restaurant opens at 8:30 AM and stays open until 10:30 PM daily except Sunday. Its seaside location means it can be noisy and busy. If you are serious about fresh seafood and don't mind paying above-budget prices for it, this place consistently delivers. Go early or late if you prefer a quieter meal, or embrace the atmosphere if you want the full seaside dining experience.

Kimly Seafood Restaurant is 12.7 km south-east of Niradei Holiday House — a short ride rather than a walk.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Niradei Holiday House are The Wave - Kep West Restaurant in Kep (12.1 km) and Magic Crab (12.6 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Kimly Seafood Restaurant is a casual spot in Kep serving fresh seafood and rice dishes. The dining room has a straightforward setup, and visitors note that the sunset view over the restaurant can enhance the experience. The menu centers on crabs, prawns, squid, and fish prepared with various sauces and spices, alongside fried rice and curries.

Visitors consistently praise the freshness and flavor of the seafood and the quality of dishes like steamed grouper with soy sauce and crab curry. Several mention that small portions are actually substantial enough to share between two or three people. However, reviews reveal meaningful drawbacks: some diners found prices higher than comparable nearby restaurants with smaller portions in return, and quality can be inconsistent. Complaints include shrimp dishes that were mostly sauce with minimal protein, inadequately cleaned prawns, and dry fried rice. Service speed is another frequent concern—while food cooking time is adequate, staff can be slow taking orders and delivering drinks, even during quiet periods.

The restaurant operates from 8 AM to 11 PM daily (closed Sundays). It suits travelers wanting fresh seafood in Kep, particularly those flexible about portion size and willing to specify heat level if they prefer spice. Pricing is moderate to higher for Cambodia. Before ordering, compare prices with other seafood restaurants in the area if budget is a consideration, and be prepared for potentially slow service even when the restaurant is not busy.

Arts Cafe is 12.7 km south-east of Niradei Holiday House — a short ride rather than a walk.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Niradei Holiday House are The Wave - Kep West Restaurant in Kep (12.1 km) and Magic Crab (12.6 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Arts Cafe sits at the Crab Market in Kep, positioned right by the water with views across the ocean. It serves Western-style dishes alongside Khmer options, with a small retail shop attached. The cafe operates daily from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM and doubles as a workspace, with visitors noting the wifi is fast enough for work.

Visitors consistently praise the location and service. The setting overlooking the sea is mentioned repeatedly as a reason to visit, whether for a quick coffee, a full meal, or simply to watch the sunset. Staff are described as friendly and English-speaking. The drinks — iced lattes, espresso, and fruit-based frappes — receive particular mention, with one visitor calling their iced latte the best they'd had in Cambodia. On food, opinions are mixed. A Croque Madame here is a small baguette with eggs, cheese, and bacon, which one visitor found adequate but not memorable; others report simply enjoying their meals without complaint. Coffee and drinks appear to be the stronger draw than the food.

The cafe works well if you want a relaxed waterfront spot in Kep with reliable service and a view. Go anytime from morning through evening — sunset is popular. It suits solo visitors, groups, and families. If you're planning a full meal, the Western dishes are straightforward rather than ambitious, so set expectations accordingly; if you're after good coffee or a drink by the ocean, it's a solid choice. The location near the Crab Market and beach makes it convenient if you're exploring that part of Kep.

Domnak Cafe is 12.9 km south-east of Niradei Holiday House — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Niradei Holiday House are Zipline Cafe (13.8 km) and Kep Coffee (15.2 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Domnak Cafe sits on Kep Beach, positioned next to the local fishing pier where wooden boats dock throughout the day. The cafe serves drinks and coffee in an open-air setting facing the water, with several spots designed for photographs. The setup is simple—a casual beachside stop rather than a full restaurant.

Visitors consistently mention the location and sea views as the main draw. The fresh coastal breeze and proximity to the fishing boats create an atmosphere that several guests found calming. Coffee quality receives mixed assessments: some find it acceptable, others do not remark on it specially. Service speed is a point of contention—some guests praise it as good while others describe it as slow. Prices are considered reasonable. One consistent note across reviews is that afternoon heat can be uncomfortable; visitors recommend coming in the morning or evening, particularly around sunset.

The cafe opens daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, making it accessible for both early breakfast and evening drinks. It suits visitors looking for a low-key spot to pause during a beach day, or those specifically interested in watching local fishing activity and catching sunset light. Come expecting basic refreshment rather than fine dining, and time your visit to avoid the hottest hours.

Kep National Park is 13.1 km south-east of Niradei Holiday House — a short ride rather than a walk.

Kep National Park sits on a forested mountain overlooking the Cambodian coast near the town of Kep. Since opening in 1993, it has developed a network of trails ranging from paved paths suitable for motorcycles to rougher, undeveloped tracks. The main route winds through the forest with several stopping points: a tower offering views across the beach, a pagoda, a cafe, and a section with swings mounted over the cliff edge where visitors can rest and photograph the coastline below. Entry costs $1 for foreign visitors.

Visitors consistently praise the park's peaceful setting and affordability. The views of Kep beach and surrounding ocean are the main draw, though some find them obscured by vegetation along the maintained paths. The park's condition is mixed — some reviewers find it litter-free and well-kept, while others note that unmaintained sections have fallen trees and overgrown vegetation blocking the way. The main paved trail works well for casual visitors with motorbikes or bicycles, but those seeking serious hiking may feel the formal infrastructure is limited to just a couple of stopping points. Visitors also mention that monkeys are not reliably seen despite the forested setting.

Go early in the morning if you plan to walk or hike; afternoon heat is intense and humid. Bring insect repellent, as mosquitoes are present. The park suits those with a couple of spare hours in the area who want an easy, inexpensive nature outing with coastal views — less so for visitors seeking challenging trails or extensive facilities. The tower is worth the visit, and you can explore by foot, motorbike, or bicycle depending on your preference and fitness level.
