Really enjoyed our stay at Homestay 1. We turned up without booking and the hostess was super accommodating. We had dinner and breakfast cooked, all of which was super filling and delicious. The hangout space was perfect to relax in with hammocks. Perfect place to relax for a few days.

We had a delicious dinner at this restaurant (while staying up the road at Soriyabori where the food was incredibly average). Meal was fresh and very tasty (soup, fried veggie and meat dishes with rice). Setting was delightful with hammocks, view across to Kratie and the welcoming family. Recommend phoning them/popping by in advance rather than just rocking up so they can prepare.

Whilst it is pleasant accommodation and a beautiful location on the island, the family were polite and helpful but not friendly. If you would like a homestay experience where you eat and spend time with the family and so forth, this is not for you. There was nothing to do in the evening other than go for a walk or entertain ourselves (and there was no Wi-Fi, but this was expected). The dinner was tasty but seemed expensive at $4 each for just morning glory, rice and fried taro, and likewise at breakfast. This felt more like a guesthouse than a homestay, but without the luxury that a guesthouse affords (and the noise that comes with a homestay!). Staying in the stilted house was a great experience, but a friendlier homestay may offer this option also.

Lovely house with a nice family. Sleeping space was clean and sufficient. Toilet with seat and flush, and a cold shower. Can't ask for more 😁 dinner was tasty, breakfast ok, except the coffee ... Don't drink the coffee! The tea instead was fine. It rained really hard the night we slept there, as some water came through the roof. But wasn't that bad, we just slept the other way round and only got a bit wet feet. Attention: water is not included in the meals or the stay. But it is not really expensive. 1 litre for 50¢. That's ok considering they have to carry it all to the island 🙂

This homestay feel like to stay with people in this island, quiet place. Nice for group of friends, family to stay there.
