The room and entrance were very clean. Unfortunately, the water had a very strong musty smell. When I mentioned it, I just got a shrug. Sensitive people should bring flip-flops, as shoes have to be removed in the hostel. Later, I saw that there are better apartments available for the same price or less. When I got home shortly before leaving, the Wi-Fi was suddenly gone and my SSD was encrypted. Luckily, I had an external drive and a backup operating system installed... Can something like that happen on its own? 😉 My rating is always based on price and performance.

Clean, comfortable, and the owner is a gem. We stayed 4 nights March/2026. The AC worked well and the room was nice and quiet. It was within a 5-10 min walk to everything, and a 15 min drive to Angkor.

I didn't want to leave! Brothers Pohy and Han are so friendly, helpful and make your stay warm and welcomed! They were always greeting me, checking on me and told me to stay as long as I wanted. If you want a magnificent stay, thos is your place. So close to everything and affordable!

We stayed here 6 nights on April 2025. The place is charming, a quiet little hostel in a side alley, walking distance from everything we needed in Siem Reap. The staff was extremely friendly, very attentive and helpful. The place is spotless clean, they help with information, and generally everything you might need. Can't recommend enough on this place. We'll definitely come back to Central Backpacker when we're in Siem Reap again.

I can’t recommend this place enough. Pohy and his family are the kindest people who welcomed us so warmly, were always on hand to help if we needed it but never imposing. The rooms were excellent value - spacious, clean, working fridge, AC and fan. The location was also ideal - less than five minutes to the river and Pub Street but quiet enough at night time. Plenty of food options around including their family restaurant just two doors down serving really tasty local and affordable food too (they also do breakfast)!
