My girlfriend from Bavet stayed here a month ago, and I came to visit.
1. When I entered the courtyard, a lady standing there (an employee, I assume) pointed me to the stairs opposite, leading upstairs. I took them and walked along the hallway in search of my girlfriend's room. Another (male) employee followed me, voicing different vowels. At first I didn't even realize that those yells were directed at me. If we want to attract someone's attention, we say "Excuse me, sir", not shout out vowels.
I then said to the male employee that my girlfriend is staying here, in room 107. He then escorted me downstairs and suggested I enter a different room, which I refused.
2. As if this outrageous behaviour of the staff wasn't enough, the condition of the room was appalling. The sink didn't have a sewage pipe: the water from the faucet would pour directly onto the floor.
The toilet seat was fidgeting.
And at night, I saw a cockroach running around the bathroom.
3. The AC was set to 20 degrees, but it wasn't cold. When I opened it, it was indeed very dirty, not cleaned for ages (see the picture attached). And on the wall below the AC there were dirty marks, as if water once dribbled out of it.
4. There were no rubbish bags on the dustbins.
5. On the wall right behind the bed there was a dirty black stain.
6. Posted on the wall was an announcement saying that reception can be contacted by dialing either 888 or 999. But there was no telephone in the room.
The check in was quick, the price was acceptable for their room standard. Wish they could add hair dryer in there. they didn't ask us to pay in advance before checking in the room. But please beware that they only have lock on the inside of the room. No key to lock from the outside. The owner/manager claimed that it is totally safe to put my stuff in the room without the lock however, don't take the chances. If you have to go back outside, make sure you keep the valuable things with you instead of leaving them in the room without lock.
