About Angkor Rendezvous

Angkor Rendezvous is a hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, built around private villas, some with their own private pools. Guests report large rooms, comfortable beds and a pool area that is generously sized. The property sits on Neelka Way, outside the city centre, which keeps the villas quiet.

Breakfast is delivered to your villa at a time you choose, and rooms are cleaned daily. Staff handle requests as they come up, and the hotel accommodates longer stays as readily as single nights. The buildings show their age in places, though sleeping areas and bathrooms are kept clean.

This suits travellers who want space and quiet at the end of a day at the temples, and who don't mind a short ride into town. The centre of Siem Reap is roughly five minutes away by taxi or tuk-tuk, with fares reported at around £1.10 and short waits for a ride. Note that a cash deposit has been required at check-in,...

These private villas with private pools are quiet and amazing! The rooms are huge and bed was very comfortable. Every member of staff are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is brought to your villa at your time of choice. They will bring you anything you need without any issues. The only negative is the distance from the centre but A 5 min grab taxi or tuttut for (£1.10) is very convenient and never had to wait more than 5 mins. We would definitely return.

I am also not sure about the negative reviews of this place. I spent one night here, and everything was great. Welcome and check-in was wonderful. Breakfast delivered to my room was good. I can see that the hotel may be a bit dated, but it is certainly clean enough. The outside seating area and pool area were a little dirty, but what can you really expect? These areas are exposed to the elements and bugs. The sleeping area and bathroom were spotless. The pool itself was large and clean. Overall, a great value for money at this place.

“Scam Hotel – Avoid This Place!” We booked this hotel by mistake without checking the reviews first. Right away, things felt wrong. They demanded a $100 cash deposit before we could even see the room and gave us strange excuses. When we asked to see the room first, we were told that the key was “locked away” and only accessible with a deposit. It’s obvious they hide behind a no-refund policy to trap people who realize too late what a mistake it is to book here. The place looks nothing like the pictures. I’ve stayed at many hotels in Cambodia, and while photos don’t always match reality, this was far worse. The way they treat guests is unfair, and the hotel itself is dirty and rundown , definitely not fit for anyone to stay. If you’re considering this hotel, please think again. Siem Reap has so many nice, fairly priced places to stay. This hotel’s dishonest practices and low standards are a real shame for Cambodia’s hospitality industry.

Traveled to many hotels for work and to relax. Not sure why had so many negative reviews prior to our 17 day stay on google but lived the place. Daily breakfasts delivered to room. Daily cleaning. Super helpful staff and just great atmosphere. Not only would recommend for relaxing stay but Siem reap is less than 5 mins in taxi. Great location.

The Secret Eden Spa

Spa & wellness 1.7 km 21 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

The Secret Eden Spa is 1.7 km east of Angkor Rendezvous — about 21 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “spa & wellness”.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from Angkor Rendezvous are The Spa Siem Reap (2.2 km) and Relax Spa (2.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Secret Eden Spa sits on Sok San Road in central Siem Reap, offering massage and body treatments in a setting visitors describe as peaceful and quietly designed. The spa provides shuttle pickup and drop-off to and from hotels, and treatment rooms are separate, clean spaces with private facilities. Visitors consistently mention the calm atmosphere and the quality of the massage work itself as reasons to return.

Guests praise the skill of the therapists and the accuracy of deep tissue work, with several noting they have had better massages here than elsewhere. The reasonable pricing relative to the quality of treatment comes up repeatedly. Staff are described as warm and welcoming—the reception area greets visitors with iced tea and a cold face cloth. Communication through WhatsApp for same-day bookings is reportedly fast. No significant complaints appear in visitor feedback; the main point of consistent recommendation is the combination of professional technique, peaceful setting, and value.

The spa opens daily from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM (closed Sundays). It suits anyone in Siem Reap wanting a massage or body scrub without the hassle of arranging transport, and works well for repeat treatments during a stay. Booking through their WhatsApp number appears to be the practical approach, particularly if you want same-day availability. The location on a quieter lane means you can step away from central Siem Reap's busier streets.

Restaurants 2.0 km 25 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

Graines de Piaf is 2.0 km east of Angkor Rendezvous — about 25 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Angkor Rendezvous are Mesa - Restaurant (2.5 km) and Wild (2.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Tucked on Funky Lane in Siem Reap, Graines de Piaf is a small French restaurant open evenings only, run by a French owner who cooks and often talks guests through the menu himself. Dishes mentioned by visitors include bavette, magret de canard, pork filet with truffle sauce, duck in mustard sauce, beef fillet and creme brûlé, with meals typically served with salad and bread in the French style, alongside wine the owner is happy to pair with the food.

Reviews are consistently positive, with guests praising the quality and freshness of the cooking, reasonable prices, and the warmth of the owner, who is repeatedly described as friendly, passionate and attentive, including to non-French speakers thanks to an English menu. The one recurring caveat is space: the dining room is small and can get crowded and noisy on busy nights, with karaoke inside, so some diners have ended up seated outside among smokers, which they actually found quieter than the interior.

This is a place for an evening meal rather than a casual lunch, since it only opens from 6pm to midnight. It suits travellers who have had their fill of local cuisine and want a properly cooked French dinner with wine, or anyone curious about a small, personally run kitchen rather than a large restaurant. Given the limited seating and evident popularity, arriving early or booking ahead is worth considering, especially on weekends, and those who prefer a quiet indoor setting might ask about seating before committing to a table.

Markets 2.1 km 27 min walk 4.3/5 on Google

Phsa Kraom Market is 2.1 km south-east of Angkor Rendezvous — about 27 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “markets”.

The other place under “markets” within reach of Angkor Rendezvous is Phsar Leu Thom Tmey (4.7 km).

Phsa Kraom Market is a working wet market in Siem Reap where locals buy groceries, prepared food, and everyday supplies. The stalls sell fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, meat, poultry, spices, and prepared dishes from early morning through evening. Street food vendors offer Khmer noodles, grilled items, fried bananas, and other snacks at low prices. The market also stocks cloth, housewares, and other goods, typically cheaper than the central Siem Reap market. This is not a tourist market, and the selection and activity level are highest in the early hours.

Visitors consistently describe this as an authentic local experience, though opinions on the atmosphere vary. Many appreciate the genuine Cambodian setting, the quality and variety of fresh produce, and the affordable prices. The market can be chaotic and rough around the edges, which some find adds to its authenticity. Others note that the meat and seafood sections can be unsettling—the butchering happens openly and visibly, which may discomfort some visitors. The road outside has potholes and fairly heavy traffic, requiring care when walking.

The market opens at 5:00 AM and closes at 9:00 PM daily, with the busiest and most well-stocked period in early morning. Wear comfortable shoes and watch your footing on the uneven pavement. This suits travellers seeking genuine interaction with local life and affordable Cambodian food rather than a sanitised shopping experience. Those sensitive to live animal processing or crowded, unpolished environments should manage expectations accordingly.

The Spa Siem Reap

Spa & wellness 2.2 km 27 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

The Spa Siem Reap is 2.2 km east of Angkor Rendezvous — about 27 minutes on foot.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from Angkor Rendezvous are The Secret Eden Spa (1.7 km) and Relax Spa (2.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Set on Sok San Road, this spa occupies a spacious, well-appointed building where the arrival ritual is part of the experience: a welcome drink, cold water or tea, and sometimes a foot cleanse before guests are guided upstairs to treatment rooms. Facials, body scrubs, wraps and massages, including longer couples sessions with add-ons, are among the treatments on offer, carried out in clean, quiet rooms with soft background music.

Reviewers are consistently positive about the setting and the service around the treatment itself: the foyer, the hospitality touches like tea served afterward, and the professionalism and warmth of the staff come up again and again. Several guests single out particular therapists by name for attentiveness and care, and more than one review notes that pricing feels straightforward rather than inflated with constant discounts. The massages themselves get a slightly more mixed response — most call them relaxing and good, but a few describe them as solid rather than exceptional, with one guest mentioning a minor lapse in a therapist's personal hygiene that briefly took away from the experience.

The spa runs late, open from mid-morning until 11:30pm most days, which suits both an afternoon stop after temple visits and an evening wind-down before dinner. Booking ahead is sensible for longer or couples' treatments, though at least one guest managed to get in with only two hours' notice, and the staff have been described as flexible with appointment times. It works well for travellers wanting a proper pampering session — facial, scrub, wrap or massage — in surroundings that feel more considered than purely functional, though those chasing the single best massage of their trip may want to temper expectations slightly.

Bars 2.2 km 28 min walk 4.5/5 on Google

Charms Cambodia is 2.2 km east of Angkor Rendezvous — about 28 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from Angkor Rendezvous are Ambar Cocktails & Karaoke Bar (2.4 km) and ASANA OLD WOODEN HOUSE Cocktail Bar (2.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Charms Cambodia is a bar on Steung Thmei in central Siem Reap, positioned near the main pub district. The space is described as roomy and includes pool tables. It operates from 5 PM to 2 AM daily. The bar employs a predominantly female staff, which shapes the nature of the venue and the experience visitors report.

Visitors consistently praise the friendly service and affordable drinks. The atmosphere and music receive positive mentions. Guests note the bar's proximity to Pub Street makes it accessible for an evening out. However, opinions divide on the primary draw: some appreciate the social aspect with staff, while others find the focus on staff interaction as the main attraction either appealing or intrusive depending on what they seek from a night out. A handful of visitors express frustration with the 2 AM closing time, noting that competing venues nearby stay open later and still draw customers at that hour.

The bar suits those looking for a casual evening with pool games and drinks in the company of a young, friendly team. It's best visited after 5 PM, any night of the week. Expectations should be calibrated to the bar's model as a staff-interaction venue rather than a quiet spot for conversation or a music-focused club. The early closing time is worth noting if you plan a later night.

The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor is 2.3 km east of Angkor Rendezvous — about 28 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Angkor Rendezvous are Pub Street (2.5 km) and Old Market Bridge (2.7 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor is a working craft center in Siem Reap where visitors can watch artisans create traditional Cambodian pieces. The space is organized into workshops for stone carving, wood carving, metal work, silk weaving, and painting. You can walk through these areas during production and observe the techniques firsthand. Many visitors mention a hands-on station where you can try stone carving yourself. After the workshop tour, there is a large gift shop selling finished pieces made on-site.

Visitors consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere and the skill of the artisans, who are generally happy to explain their work and allow photography. The open workshop layout means you see the actual creative process rather than a staged demonstration. Most people report the experience takes around 45 minutes. A common note is that prices are higher than in other souvenir shops, though visitors accept this because the pieces are made directly by the artisans and the center can arrange worldwide shipping. Entry is free, though you are expected to visit the shop.

The site is open daily from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. It works well if you want to understand how Cambodian crafts are actually made and buy directly from makers rather than through middlemen. Go in off-peak season if you prefer a quieter, more personalized experience, or expect busier periods during high tourist season.

X-Bar

Nightlife 2.4 km 30 min walk 4.2/5 on Google

X-Bar is 2.4 km east of Angkor Rendezvous — about 30 minutes on foot.

X-Bar is a rooftop bar on the corner of Sivath Boulevard and Sok San Road, positioned just outside the main Pub Street strip in Siem Reap. The space has multiple levels and games—pool tables, foosball, air hockey, shuffleboard, and beer pong—along with a notable half-pipe skate ramp on the top level. It opens from 5 PM until 4 AM daily, with a rooftop layout offering views of Pub Street and the surrounding area.

Visitors consistently praise the atmosphere once it fills up after 10 PM, describing it as lively and energetic with a good mix of locals and tourists. DJs and occasional live music are regular features. Drinks are reasonably priced, with canned beers around 1.50 dollars and bottles at 1.75 dollars. Some guests mention a fire show as an occasional attraction. However, experiences vary noticeably: while most visitors enjoy the venue, particularly late into the evening, a few report disappointingly slow service and disengaged staff during quieter periods. The rooftop can be quite subdued in early evening hours with sparse crowds. One visitor noted the bartender appeared uninterested, contrasting sharply with other accounts of friendly staff. The quieter periods mean the music level is manageable compared to other nearby bars, which appeals to those wanting conversation.

X-Bar works best for late-night visits after 10 PM or especially after 1 AM when other bars close and crowds migrate here. It suits visitors seeking games, dancing, and a mixed social scene rather than a focused nightclub experience. Expect it to be calmer in early evening if you arrive before 9 PM, and best visited with a group given the games and social setup. The location just off Pub Street helps it maintain a slightly less touristy edge than venues directly on the main strip.

Cinema 2.4 km 30 min walk 4.2/5 on Google

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap is 2.4 km east of Angkor Rendezvous — about 30 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cinema”.

The other place under “cinema” within reach of Angkor Rendezvous is Legend Cinemas Siem Reap (2.9 km).

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap is a multiplex cinema located on Sivutha Road in central Siem Reap, operating daily from 9 AM to 11:30 PM. The venue offers multiple screens showing a mix of international films, mostly in 3D format, alongside 2D options. The ground floor has a snack bar serving popcorn and basic refreshments. Screens are equipped with air conditioning and working sound systems, with seating that includes adjustable armrests.

Visitors consistently praise the comfortable seating, clear audio, and reasonable ticket prices, typically around $2.50 to $3 per ticket. The air-conditioned environment is noted as a welcome relief in the tropical heat. However, guests mention several recurring issues: the men's toilets frequently malfunction, the snack selection is limited to popcorn and microwaved items with few alternatives, and while screen quality is adequate for enjoying films, it is not considered premium. Some visitors also report that most American releases are shown in 3D rather than 2D. The bakery that once operated here is no longer available. One visitor mentioned dark stairs inside the theater, though another dispute this observation.

This cinema suits visitors looking for an affordable movie experience during their stay in Siem Reap, particularly those seeking air-conditioned refuge during midday heat. It works best for flexible moviegoers who are not particular about snack options or cutting-edge screen technology. Arrive early if you have specific preferences for 2D showings, as 3D films dominate the schedule. Ticket prices make it accessible for casual viewing, but plan bathroom needs carefully given the reported maintenance issues with male facilities.
