I highly recommend Angkor Piseth Homestay as a solo female traveler. It is a bit out of the main part of town, so if you like it less busy, this is a great spot and closer to the temples. It’s down a road a bit, but didn’t feel unsafe to me. They were there to greet me at the airport when I arrived (a paid service ). My room was very large, clean and inexpensive. The breakfast area was nice, open with plants and the food was pretty good and a great price (most dishes $3). They were very responsive and helpful via WhatsApp for requests and ordering food. From the homestay, I easily rode a bike I rented there on the bike path to Angkor Wat. Also it was easy to order a grab there. The family was so kind and lined up laundry, as well as bicycle and scooter rentals. They let me hang out late on the night I had a sleeper bus, which was super kind. The whole family is around and contributing (with little kiddos too!). The woman who made food and fulfilled requests was lovely: I’m so glad I stayed!

We chose this accommodation because of its proximity to Angkor Wat, but we got so much more! The room was spacious. The bathroom and room were pristine, super clean. The shower was fantastic. The bed was comfortable. We ate breakfast here every morning to fuel our days, the cooking (breakfast, dinner and coffees) was absolutely delicious and fairly priced. There were options for us as vegetarians and the vegetable fried rice is the best I have had on our travels. You could buy water and other beverages from them if you wanted to. You can rent bicycles and scooters from the accommodation. We rented bikes to cycle around the temples (paved road all the way to Angkor Wat, approximately 15-20 mins to main temple) and we were provided with locks too to secure the bikes. The hosts and staff were all wonderful. We will definitely return here if/when we are back in Siem Reap.

we were in Siem Reap for just one night and ended up with the best accommodation we could have dreamed of :) the communication with Piseth was phenomenal; he always answered questions, offered advice, was polite, and always had a smile. The entire service was great and family was very welcoming ☺️ The room also was very clean and pretty and food was delicious! 10/10 highly recommend

I absolutely loved everything about my stay here. All the staff were so kind and welcoming. Piseth helped me with a couple of last minute changes and helped me with a friendly kind smile. I will definitely stay here every time when in Siem Reap - clean - great value - quiet - comfy - friendly ❤️

Cafés & bakeries 186.5 km 4.2/5 on Google

Blue cafe is 186.5 km south of Angkor Piseth Homestay — a short ride rather than a walk.

Blue cafe is a small restaurant located in Choam, Chi Phat, offering casual dining in a modest setting. It serves as a neighbourhood spot where locals gather, and the menu is reasonably priced. The compact size means it maintains an intimate, unpretentious atmosphere rather than catering to large groups or formal occasions.

Visitors consistently describe the place as straightforward and good value. Reviewers mention that it caters well to local tastes and habits, with pricing that won't strain a budget. The feedback is generally positive though expressed in measured terms rather than enthusiastic praise — most comments fall in the "ok" to "good" range, suggesting it delivers what you'd expect from a neighbourhood cafe without particular surprises.

This is the kind of place to visit if you're comfortable with simple, casual dining and want to eat where local people do. Given its size, it works better for individuals or small groups than large parties. There's no information about opening hours or specific menu items, so it's worth asking locals for current details when you arrive in Chi Phat, particularly if you have dietary requirements or are visiting during off-peak times.
