How reviews work
Reviews here come from one of two places, and each one says which.
Verified stay. The guest booked through this site, stayed, and was invited by email after check-out to rate it. Nobody else can write one, and nobody can buy one.
Collected by the hotel. The guest sent their review to the hotel directly — by email, on WhatsApp or in the comment book — and the hotel typed it in with the guest's agreement. Real words from a real stay, but collected by an interested party, so we label it and keep it out of the rating we publish to search engines.
A hotel may show no score at all: it means nobody has rated it yet, not that it scored badly. We would rather show nothing than a number we invented.
Reviews are published with the guest's first name and last initial next to their stay dates. The hotel may reply once, publicly.
