Location
Lotus Silk Farm is a small working farm and workshop space on the outskirts of Siem Reap, where lotus flowers are grown and processed into silk thread, textiles and other products. Visitors can join a guided farm tour to see how every part of the lotus plant is used, followed by a boat ride out onto the adjoining lotus lake. There is also a shop selling scarves and other lotus-based goods, and a small restaurant serving lotus tea and lotus ice cream with views over the water.
Guests consistently describe it as one of the more memorable stops in Siem Reap, praising the warmth of the women who run the workshops and demonstrate the thread-making and dyeing process by hand. The combination of the farm tour and the boat ride through the lotus lake comes up again and again as the part worth doing in full, with several visitors noting they were given a welcome drink, local snacks, or even a handmade lotus bouquet or hat during their visit. No significant complaints appear in the reviews, though most guests mention the experience works best when both the land tour and the boat ride are booked together rather than just one.
The farm is open daily from 8am to 6pm, and a shorter option such as a 1.5-hour workshop or a low-cost basic tour is available alongside the fuller farm-and-boat combination. It suits travellers interested in craft, textiles or rural life around Siem Reap rather than those looking for a quick photo stop, since the appeal lies in the guided explanation and the slower pace of the boat ride. Anyone planning to eat at the on-site restaurant or shop for scarves afterwards should allow extra time beyond the tour itself.

We chose 1h30 workshop at Lotus farm. It was absolutely amazing with the guide tour around the shops and boat ride. And delicious welcome drink and local homemade snacks. Everything was going well with the local product. Very highly recommended.

Loved it here, a must visit if you are in Siem Reap!
We did the $5 lotus farm tour and the boat tour. So interesting to see how they use every part of the lotus flower for so many different things and products.
The boat tour was amazing, so peaceful and beautiful floating through the lotus lake.
They sell loads of great things in the shop too that would be really good gifts.
