Genuinely surprised to see this hotel listed at a 3 star hotel. I think it’s least worthy of a 4 star rating. It had 2 beautiful swimming pools amazing rooms and very reasonable priced rooms. We went in a group of 6 of us. We were quite loud what was great was complex was big and quiet meaning we could stay out of other people’s way and enjoy ourselves whilst not disturbing people who expected quieter elements of the holiday. The food was really good and extremely well priced hotel staff really friendly and plenty of things to do and see on the complex. Beds were comfy rooms were clean. Rooms came with free tea and coffee etc. I’d say this hotel was well maintained and the owners have worked hard to maintain a clean and friendly fun environment. I would definitely return on our next trip. :)

Stayed here in December '25. We really enjoyed our time at Villa Vedici Enjoyed chatting with the owners who are really helpful with booking activities etc too. Good food and good breakfasts. Really chilled place, rarely many other people around the pools. Nice to have a free entertainment like pool and table tennis etc. Great views from the river front rooms too. As others have pointed out there's a few minor maintenance opportunities but everything worked and was clean.

Never again. Strongly not recommended. Positive: • Beautiful view, with a peaceful and tranquil natural setting. Negative: • The rooms are very old, and the air-conditioning is not cold enough. • We ordered food and waited for an hour and a half. Eventually, we had to cancel and go to town instead just to have lunch.

This hotel is excellent. This small city has many hotels, making it a great place for a family vacation. There's a children's pool and an adult pool. The view is stunning, and kayaks and boats are available. We visited during the off-season, when the hotel was undergoing renovations. Overall, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Theres two words that for me sums this place up best: Charm & Tranquility. It oozes both. The beautifully kept vast gardens, the traditional architecture, the peace of the riverfront, all add up to a little paradise, and imho the best Kampot has to offer by quite some margin. It has two pools - a smaller square one by the bar, and a good size one suitable for swimming lengths. It's rare you'll see more than one or two people in them at a time, so plenty of space. Kids should be kept happy with a slide and jacuzzi jets in the larger pool, along with the electric cars with a circuit through the gardens, games, pool tables & kayaks for the river...though in general its a more mature crowd. It has a 3 star rating, and yes though you'll probably find the odd wobbly tap or bits that could use a fresh lick of paint it's very comfortable, the hosts & staff are courteous and helpful. It always feels personal, not chain-like and you'll never forget you are in Cambodia, which is where the magic is. There's a good range of accommodation for both short and long stays.. bedrooms, apartments and houses. Occasionally the bar stays open late so might want to request a room away from the bar if you are a sensitive sleeper. But generally it's super peaceful, with not much more than crickets after 9 or 10. It's perfectly located.. About 2 or 3k out of town. A tuktuk is approximately $1.25 each way, or the hosts can arrange mopeds for a few dollars.. or theres also a selection of bicycles

Bars 750 m 9 min walk 4.6/5 on Google

High Tide Kampot is 750 m south-west of Villa Vedici — about 9 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The other place under “bars” within reach of Villa Vedici is Royal Kampot KTV (2.7 km).

High Tide Kampot is a riverside bar built around dog rescue and rehabilitation. Visitors find a working sanctuary where rescued dogs live and socialise throughout the day, with drinks and light refreshments available. The bar operates from a riverside location where guests can spend time with the animals, and the owner offers boat cruises down the river at sunset as part of the experience.

What makes the place distinctive is the genuine care visitors observe in how the dogs are treated. Guests consistently mention the owner's deep commitment to animal welfare and the dogs' visible contentment and friendliness. The staff are described as kind and knowledgeable about dog behaviour and rehabilitation. Visitors appreciate that there is no entrance fee, with support coming through purchasing drinks or merchandise. A few reviewers noted they returned multiple times during their stay, suggesting the experience holds up to repeat visits.

The bar is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, making it accessible for morning visits with the dogs or for sunset river cruises. It suits anyone spending time in Kampot with an interest in animals or who wants to support rescue work while having a drink by the water. Expect a casual, welcoming atmosphere rather than a conventional bar scene, and plan to interact with the dogs if that appeals to you.

BaZaar Café & Healing Space

Restaurants 1.1 km 13 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

BaZaar Café & Healing Space is 1.1 km south of Villa Vedici — about 13 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Villa Vedici are Greenhouse ( restaurant & coffee ) (2.8 km) and Laundry Cafe Burger Bar (2.9 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Tucked away in Kampot, this café pairs homemade, health-oriented food with a garden setting at the back, complete with hammocks. The signature order across visits is the Buddha bowl, alongside kefir, mango lassi, tonics, and a chocolate cookie that regulars keep coming back for. Beyond food, the space leans into its "healing" name with offerings like tarot readings, and the overall feel is artistic and calm rather than a quick-stop café.

Guests are consistently enthusiastic about the food quality, describing it as fresh, clearly homemade, and flavourful, with the Buddha bowl mentioned again and again as the reason to visit. The garden seating and hammocks come up repeatedly as a highlight, giving the place a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere that some visitors returned to daily. The one practical gripe is the lack of air conditioning, noticeable on hot days since the space is open-air. Prices are described as higher than typical local spots, though reviewers who mention this generally feel the quality justifies it, and cash-only payment has been noted as well.

This suits travellers looking for a slower, more contemplative meal rather than a fast bite, and it works well for an afternoon of tea and cake as much as a full meal. It is open daily except Sunday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, so it is not an evening dinner option. Given the open-air setup, arriving earlier in the day or in cooler weather may be more comfortable. Bring cash, and if the garden and hammocks are part of the appeal, allow enough time to actually sit and stay rather than just eat and go.

Analog coffee sits on National Road 3 in Kampot and serves espresso drinks, specialty lattes, and cold beverages in a space visitors describe as having a strong vanilla scent and a relaxed local atmosphere. The cafe has functional wifi and air conditioning, making it suitable for working as well as casual visits. The setting appeals to people who enjoy photographing their drinks.

Visitors consistently praise the coffee quality, with several describing it among the best they have had in Kampot. Matcha lattes and charcoal lattes are mentioned specifically. The atmosphere draws repeated compliments for being chill and lovely, and staff are noted for being helpful and speaking English. Prices are described as affordable. The main caution is that cold drinks tend toward the sweeter side, which works well for some but may not suit those preferring less sugar.

The cafe opens daily from 7:00 AM and closes at 6:30 PM, making it accessible for early breakfast or an afternoon stop. It functions well as a morning work spot or a place to spend an hour between activities in Kampot. It suits coffee enthusiasts and anyone seeking a quiet, air-conditioned refuge during the heat of the day.

Farm Link is 2.1 km south of Villa Vedici — about 26 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Villa Vedici are Green Cathedral (2.5 km) and Krong Kampot (2.7 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Farm Link is a working pepper cooperative and educational space in central Kampot that showcases the production of the region's famous pepper. Visitors tour a small processing facility and farm plot where staff demonstrate how black, red, and white pepper are sorted, dried, and prepared. The cooperative collects harvests from dozens of local small farmers. You can handle and taste different pepper varieties alongside other products the group produces, including long pepper, vanilla, salt, and sugar.

Staff consistently earn praise for their knowledge and friendliness, patiently explaining the labour-intensive processes behind each pepper type and answering questions in French and English. Visitors repeatedly mention the value proposition: Kampot pepper costs notably less here than at local markets, and staff will guide you through the tasting and selection process without pressure. The cooperative model itself appeals to those interested in supporting local farming directly. A minor note appears in one review about impulse buying—the prices and variety apparently make it easy to leave with more than planned.

The site operates mornings and early afternoons, closed around midday. Plan for a 30 to 45-minute visit. It suits anyone with interest in how local products are made, those seeking authentic souvenirs at reasonable prices, and travellers wanting context on Kampot's agricultural identity. The hands-on elements—smelling, tasting, watching manual sorting—make it accessible to most visitors regardless of expertise. Allow time before a midday closure if you're visiting in the morning slot.

Markets 2.2 km 27 min walk 4.1/5 on Google

Samaki Market is 2.2 km south-east of Villa Vedici — about 27 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “markets”.

The other place under “markets” within reach of Villa Vedici is Kampot Night Market (2.6 km).

Samaki Market is Kampot's main general market, occupying a central location where locals shop for everyday supplies. The stalls spread across the space with distinct sections: fresh produce including tropical fruits like mangosteen, sugar apple, and salak; seafood and meat counters; clothing and textiles; jewelry; and toys. Beyond retail, the market also houses practical services—hair salons, key cutting, and shoe and clothing repair shops. The atmosphere is authentically local rather than tourist-oriented, with vendors setting up from early morning and the space growing busy with tuk tuks and motorbikes.

Visitors consistently praise the market's range and authenticity, noting that you can find nearly everything in one place at local prices. The produce section draws particular attention, especially the fresh tropical fruits available at the north-side kiosks; seafood like crab is noted at around 3-4 USD per kilogram, with cooking services available for 1-3 USD. The main criticism visitors mention is limited parking, which can be frustrating during peak hours. Several reviewers note that the best time to shop is early morning, around 5am after vendors set up, both for the best selection and to avoid produce that has been sitting out.

The market operates daily from 7am to 5pm. It suits visitors looking to shop like locals, eat inexpensively, or source ingredients for self-catering. Early morning is essential if you want the freshest pick and easier navigation, though expect crowded conditions with vehicular traffic during those peak hours. This is a working market for locals first, so it rewards those who arrive prepared and early.

The next two places under “sights” from Villa Vedici are Farm Link (2.1 km) and Krong Kampot (2.7 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Green Cathedral is a riverside kayaking spot in Kampot where visitors paddle through narrow waterways lined with dense vegetation. The experience centres around renting kayaks from a local operator and exploring the calm river channels at a leisurely pace. Several nearby hotels also arrange rentals for around 5 dollars per two hours.

Visitors consistently praise the tranquility of paddling through the green surroundings and the friendliness of the kayak operator, who guests describe as welcoming and knowledgeable. Many mention that he offers homegrown fruit to visitors and shares details about his garden. The atmosphere on the water is generally calm and meditative. However, plastic pollution is a recurring complaint. Multiple visitors note significant amounts of trash and debris floating in the water, which some found difficult to overlook despite the natural beauty. One visitor decided against swimming due to water quality concerns. Opinions differ on the extent of the problem—some saw rubbish only in patches, while others felt it dominated the experience.

Go in the early morning or late afternoon for the best light and smallest crowds. The kayaking works for anyone seeking a slow-paced nature activity, including those who prefer to stay on land, as the operator is accommodating to non-paddlers. Bear in mind that water cleanliness varies; if you are hoping to swim, ask locally about current conditions before committing. The river is genuinely shallow and safe for paddling, making this suitable for first-time kayakers and families with older children.

Krong Kampot is a riverside town in southern Cambodia that has become a growing destination for both local and international visitors. The town sits along the Preaek Tuek Chhu River and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding region, including access to Bokor National Park, pepper farms, and fruit plantations. Visitors find a mix of attractions: colonial-era architecture from the French period, waterfront promenades, boat trips (including evening firefly-watching tours), and fresh seafood restaurants. The town itself operates at a slow pace, with the option to walk through streets with river breezes or explore nearby agricultural areas.

What draws people to Kampot is its unhurried atmosphere and variety of activities within reach. Visitors consistently praise the charm of the old buildings, the relaxed feel of the place, and the quality of local food, particularly the seafood and the region's famous pepper. A pepper farm tour comes recommended by multiple visitors. The riverfront area is noted as pleasant for strolling and watching sunsets. However, some visitors suggest a day or two is sufficient rather than a longer stay, and at least one mentioned that the water quality near the town centre can appear murky. The town is acknowledged as fairly commercial, though this has brought a decent range of restaurants and hotels.

Kampot works best for travellers seeking a quieter stop with cultural and culinary interest rather than a beach resort atmosphere. The pace suits those wanting to rest between busier destinations. The nearby pepper farms and access to Bokor National Park make it useful as a base for day trips. Most visitors see it as a worthwhile detour for one to three days while travelling through southern Cambodia.
