The Royal Sands Koh Rong

My partner and I absolutely LOVED this place we went on our first night on the island and when we moved to Saracen Bay and our boat trip took us to M’pai bay and we headed straight back to Bar Bok Bowie. On Sunday night they had reggae music playing which created such a nice atmosphere. The owner and the girl behind the bar were SO friendly and attentive.

I had get a great experience with food and the view really enjoyed it especially the food I really like chicken roll I forgot the name of this menu but it's really good.

Come here to watch the gorgeous sunset and have some cocktails / beers. It’s a new bar as of 2023. Friendly expat owners Dutch Sharon & Brit John who stayed on the island through the pandemic and re-opened recently. What a beautiful bar!! The cocktails and views are absolutely stunning. Sharon & Jon have created a little bit of magic on this island. Definitely try the coconut espresso martini and the gin and rum cocktails, or just do what we did and come every day to make your way through the entire menu 🤣😝. Lucy loved the spring rolls and we both had food from the pop up at reggae Sunday which was bangin’! Thank you for saving our ears with the epic tune selections and creating such a beautiful bar to hangout in!! Gonna miss these views, drinks and Rozy the dog cuddles! ❤️

Stunning little bar with some exciting drinks options. We watched a nice sunset and drank some artisan beers difficult to find in South East Asia. The service was excellent with free snacks with the drinks. Overall cool vibe and nice owners.

One of those hidden gem villages , locals are always having fun dogs run free and kids play games and hide n seek at all hours . Lots of great restaurant's from Cambodia dishes to western dishes . Been in love with this place of Koh Rong samloem for years now . A place you keep coming back too

We arrived to M'Pai Bay with a tour from Saracen Bay. It was a stunning place: small coffee places, small interesting local community and an amazing beach to swim. I wish we had stayed several day in this spot of the island.

M’Pai Bay is a beautiful and friendly village on Koh Rong Sanloem. Clear water, relaxed vibe, great food spots, and warm local community. A perfect place to enjoy real island life and unwind. Highly recommend!

During my stay in Mpai, Seapony quickly became my go-to spot for breakfast. I ended up there almost every day, and after a couple of visits, they already knew me and had my preferred coffee ready as soon as I walked in. It really felt like being at home. The bagels and bread are freshly baked and amazing, and the garden vibe is super calm and relaxing. My favorites? The omelet (with the multigrain bread and butter) , smoothie bowl, and Cinnamon French toast if you’re into something sweet. It’s not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for. totally was worth it for me. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a great breakfast and a chill spot to hang out.

This place is unreallll the food is so good I came every day of my stay on the island. Can particularly recommend the bagels and the espresso/banana smoothie. Plenty of veggie options and also flexible to add/remove ingredients.

This is a world class cafe with serious food! The bagels were life changing, the milkshake with home made ice cream was top of the charts and the breakfast burrito, eggs on toast and pancakes were like a warm embrace from your best friend. We went here 5 times in 3 days.

The bagel was nice and warm. I also got the passion fruit smoothie which was the best one I had on the island. However I will say the smoothie was much sweeter than I would have liked.

Such a charming, lovely, and local restaurant with a small private pier lit at night with warm, twinkling lights. Very natural and cozy vibes. Great food - try the green kampot pepper and squid - it's so fresh, tender, and flavorful. The bungalows look charming.

A cute Litle place. Filled with good people , clean atmosphere, well-made toilet. Smaller portion,but tasty food. We tried some of their cocktails and coffee. They were good. Local restaurant, local food, and local people. served and prepared by local people. So far one of the clean, and tasty food in the Saracen Bay. If you’re around, stop by to enjoy the sunrise, the best of the best in the bay

I came here every morning on Koh Rong Sanloem! I loved their breakfast set: egg, toast, pancake, fruit salad, fruit shake & tea/coffee! Such great value! I had it as 2 in 1 breakfast & lunch and it kept me full the whole day! And incredible views and vibe.

The Staff was absolutely amazing and kind. We both had some pancakes and quesadillas, they were absolutely delicious and flavourful. We visited the Restaurant multiple times during our stay in the nearby resort. It was worth the walk, and the view from the Restaurant was magical.

Excellent restaurant ! Everything is very tasty and well prepared. We stayed at the hotel 6 nights and we’ve never been disappointed about anything from the breakfast to the dinner ! The place is nice with a beautiful view. I highly recommend lok lak chicken, the curry chicken and the amok !

Truly, the barefoot beach. This is so quiet, clean, great view, one can dream swim as long you want. Everything set up here to have a barefoot experience. I noticed a lot of them using toilet without shoes. So far, I noticed, including the toilets are clean. Mostly or all the resorts here have plenty of water. Every time you get out of the beach. They have a running tap water to wash your foot . When I made the reservation, I was looking for a place with a private bathroom. I was hesitant to use a share bathrooms here. I am completely wrong. These toilets are really clean well maintained and designed. There are plenty of restaurants. They also different type of food. For example in Spanish restaurant. A 30min hike from Saracen bay. There is a new road being developed so it is easy to walk to the starting point of the trail that leads down to the beach. Prepare for short hike down the hill. Could be wet but there are ropes along the way to help. Seems longer going down but it only takes 5 minutes to go up the hill on your way back. Beautiful beach, lovely sand and a very very relaxed vibe. There are a few bars along the beach mostly hidden/blended in with the trees and offer laid back seating to enjoy the sunset. We visited at the end of October when the wet season was coming to an end, so the sea was a bit rough but we were still able to swim and enjoy it. Signal can be bad around the island and the WiFi is unreliable so it is good to have cash on you, just in case.

Beautiful beach calm and quiet. Some fantastic restaurants and places to stay. Maybe the nicest place I’ve ever been

This place is brilliant: clear and calm water, soft sand and a few places to get a drink or bite. Expect to feel like on a deserted island, so peaceful. If you’re walking from Saracen Bay, be mindful of the steep decline (and incline upon your return) before reaching the beach. It is about 100m vertical with rocks, roots and branches to climb over. Also, bring a lot (!) of mosquito repellent and spray before going into the jungle for the last part of the hike (when you see the signs in the picture).
