Looking for local, natural, and fresh air to have fun? I had a good experience of playing the Disc Golf at The Khmer Disc Golf Resort. My first time. It is fun. Playing in the natural rice field and hidden forest. Fantastic. Friendly owner, playing with him. Such a supportive and helpful. Don't forget the bring a big water bottle with you😊

We absolutely loved our stay at The Basket Homestay! It will definitely go down as a highlight of our month-long trip to Asia. Jacob and his family made us feel so welcome—it felt like we were visiting old friends. The homestay is located in the countryside, just outside Siem Reap. We stayed in an incredibly clean and comfortable bungalow with a huge bed and plenty of space. If you're a disc golf player, you'll especially love this location—Cambodia's first disc golf course is on-site! Jacob's brother-in-law took us out on the course, and local children served as our personal disc golf retrievers. My husband even had the chance to participate in a tournament. In the homestay’s courtyard, there are practice baskets, and there's an onsite pro shop. There's also a bar, and I highly recommend ordering a meal prepared by Jacob’s wife—she is an incredible cook! We enjoyed meeting other disc golfers and hanging out with Jacob. If you want to visit downtown Siem Reap, you can easily take a tuk-tuk for just a few dollars. Jacob can also arrange tours to Angkor Wat, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We learned so much more about Cambodian culture and life by staying here than we would have if we'd spent our entire time in the downtown area. It was such a special experience, and I can’t wait for the day we can return!

Had a good time! Unfortunately the course was a bit flooded in early October when I went, so we were limited to a few holes with some fun water carry. Could use a udisc update to define the best seasons to go. Heads up, Google maps will guide you down a rough road once you turn off the highway. Instead ask your tuktuk driver to turn at the pagoda to get there. I drew the preferred route in green.

Yep this one is a 5, great ambiance, beautiful location, and tough for a par 3 at this time of year (rainy season) when everything is overgrown. Penh with the awesome forehand drifter was great to play with and showed me all the holes and OBs. Absolutely a must do, especially for the traveling disc golfer - total bucket lister. One note to those who follow: my tuktuk driver got lost, not as a scam but because GPS will take you out to single track craziness if you let it. If you come from central Siem Reap I suggest having your Cambodian driver speak with someone there first. Play this course...you won't regret it!

Markets 4.6 km 4.3/5 on Google

Phsa Kraom Market is 4.6 km east of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “markets”.

The other place under “markets” within reach of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort is Phsar Leu Thom Tmey (7.8 km).

Phsa Kraom Market is a working wet market in Siem Reap where locals buy groceries, prepared food, and everyday supplies. The stalls sell fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, meat, poultry, spices, and prepared dishes from early morning through evening. Street food vendors offer Khmer noodles, grilled items, fried bananas, and other snacks at low prices. The market also stocks cloth, housewares, and other goods, typically cheaper than the central Siem Reap market. This is not a tourist market, and the selection and activity level are highest in the early hours.

Visitors consistently describe this as an authentic local experience, though opinions on the atmosphere vary. Many appreciate the genuine Cambodian setting, the quality and variety of fresh produce, and the affordable prices. The market can be chaotic and rough around the edges, which some find adds to its authenticity. Others note that the meat and seafood sections can be unsettling—the butchering happens openly and visibly, which may discomfort some visitors. The road outside has potholes and fairly heavy traffic, requiring care when walking.

The market opens at 5:00 AM and closes at 9:00 PM daily, with the busiest and most well-stocked period in early morning. Wear comfortable shoes and watch your footing on the uneven pavement. This suits travellers seeking genuine interaction with local life and affordable Cambodian food rather than a sanitised shopping experience. Those sensitive to live animal processing or crowded, unpolished environments should manage expectations accordingly.

Spa & wellness 4.7 km 4.7/5 on Google

The Secret Eden Spa is 4.7 km east of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “spa & wellness”.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from The Khmer Disc Golf Resort are The Spa Siem Reap (5.3 km) and Relax Spa (5.6 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Secret Eden Spa sits on Sok San Road in central Siem Reap, offering massage and body treatments in a setting visitors describe as peaceful and quietly designed. The spa provides shuttle pickup and drop-off to and from hotels, and treatment rooms are separate, clean spaces with private facilities. Visitors consistently mention the calm atmosphere and the quality of the massage work itself as reasons to return.

Guests praise the skill of the therapists and the accuracy of deep tissue work, with several noting they have had better massages here than elsewhere. The reasonable pricing relative to the quality of treatment comes up repeatedly. Staff are described as warm and welcoming—the reception area greets visitors with iced tea and a cold face cloth. Communication through WhatsApp for same-day bookings is reportedly fast. No significant complaints appear in visitor feedback; the main point of consistent recommendation is the combination of professional technique, peaceful setting, and value.

The spa opens daily from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM (closed Sundays). It suits anyone in Siem Reap wanting a massage or body scrub without the hassle of arranging transport, and works well for repeat treatments during a stay. Booking through their WhatsApp number appears to be the practical approach, particularly if you want same-day availability. The location on a quieter lane means you can step away from central Siem Reap's busier streets.

Restaurants 5.2 km 4.9/5 on Google

Graines de Piaf is 5.2 km east of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from The Khmer Disc Golf Resort are Wild (5.5 km) and Old Maison Eatery (5.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Tucked on Funky Lane in Siem Reap, Graines de Piaf is a small French restaurant open evenings only, run by a French owner who cooks and often talks guests through the menu himself. Dishes mentioned by visitors include bavette, magret de canard, pork filet with truffle sauce, duck in mustard sauce, beef fillet and creme brûlé, with meals typically served with salad and bread in the French style, alongside wine the owner is happy to pair with the food.

Reviews are consistently positive, with guests praising the quality and freshness of the cooking, reasonable prices, and the warmth of the owner, who is repeatedly described as friendly, passionate and attentive, including to non-French speakers thanks to an English menu. The one recurring caveat is space: the dining room is small and can get crowded and noisy on busy nights, with karaoke inside, so some diners have ended up seated outside among smokers, which they actually found quieter than the interior.

This is a place for an evening meal rather than a casual lunch, since it only opens from 6pm to midnight. It suits travellers who have had their fill of local cuisine and want a properly cooked French dinner with wine, or anyone curious about a small, personally run kitchen rather than a large restaurant. Given the limited seating and evident popularity, arriving early or booking ahead is worth considering, especially on weekends, and those who prefer a quiet indoor setting might ask about seating before committing to a table.

The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor is 5.2 km east of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from The Khmer Disc Golf Resort are Pub Street (5.6 km) and Old Market Bridge (5.7 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Living Arts Village by Artisans Angkor is a working craft center in Siem Reap where visitors can watch artisans create traditional Cambodian pieces. The space is organized into workshops for stone carving, wood carving, metal work, silk weaving, and painting. You can walk through these areas during production and observe the techniques firsthand. Many visitors mention a hands-on station where you can try stone carving yourself. After the workshop tour, there is a large gift shop selling finished pieces made on-site.

Visitors consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere and the skill of the artisans, who are generally happy to explain their work and allow photography. The open workshop layout means you see the actual creative process rather than a staged demonstration. Most people report the experience takes around 45 minutes. A common note is that prices are higher than in other souvenir shops, though visitors accept this because the pieces are made directly by the artisans and the center can arrange worldwide shipping. Entry is free, though you are expected to visit the shop.

The site is open daily from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. It works well if you want to understand how Cambodian crafts are actually made and buy directly from makers rather than through middlemen. Go in off-peak season if you prefer a quieter, more personalized experience, or expect busier periods during high tourist season.

Bars 5.3 km 4.5/5 on Google

Charms Cambodia is 5.3 km east of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from The Khmer Disc Golf Resort are Ambar Cocktails & Karaoke Bar (5.4 km) and ASANA OLD WOODEN HOUSE Cocktail Bar (5.6 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Charms Cambodia is a bar on Steung Thmei in central Siem Reap, positioned near the main pub district. The space is described as roomy and includes pool tables. It operates from 5 PM to 2 AM daily. The bar employs a predominantly female staff, which shapes the nature of the venue and the experience visitors report.

Visitors consistently praise the friendly service and affordable drinks. The atmosphere and music receive positive mentions. Guests note the bar's proximity to Pub Street makes it accessible for an evening out. However, opinions divide on the primary draw: some appreciate the social aspect with staff, while others find the focus on staff interaction as the main attraction either appealing or intrusive depending on what they seek from a night out. A handful of visitors express frustration with the 2 AM closing time, noting that competing venues nearby stay open later and still draw customers at that hour.

The bar suits those looking for a casual evening with pool games and drinks in the company of a young, friendly team. It's best visited after 5 PM, any night of the week. Expectations should be calibrated to the bar's model as a staff-interaction venue rather than a quiet spot for conversation or a music-focused club. The early closing time is worth noting if you plan a later night.

The Spa Siem Reap

Spa & wellness 5.3 km 4.8/5 on Google

The Spa Siem Reap is 5.3 km east of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort — a short ride rather than a walk.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from The Khmer Disc Golf Resort are The Secret Eden Spa (4.7 km) and Relax Spa (5.6 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Set on Sok San Road, this spa occupies a spacious, well-appointed building where the arrival ritual is part of the experience: a welcome drink, cold water or tea, and sometimes a foot cleanse before guests are guided upstairs to treatment rooms. Facials, body scrubs, wraps and massages, including longer couples sessions with add-ons, are among the treatments on offer, carried out in clean, quiet rooms with soft background music.

Reviewers are consistently positive about the setting and the service around the treatment itself: the foyer, the hospitality touches like tea served afterward, and the professionalism and warmth of the staff come up again and again. Several guests single out particular therapists by name for attentiveness and care, and more than one review notes that pricing feels straightforward rather than inflated with constant discounts. The massages themselves get a slightly more mixed response — most call them relaxing and good, but a few describe them as solid rather than exceptional, with one guest mentioning a minor lapse in a therapist's personal hygiene that briefly took away from the experience.

The spa runs late, open from mid-morning until 11:30pm most days, which suits both an afternoon stop after temple visits and an evening wind-down before dinner. Booking ahead is sensible for longer or couples' treatments, though at least one guest managed to get in with only two hours' notice, and the staff have been described as flexible with appointment times. It works well for travellers wanting a proper pampering session — facial, scrub, wrap or massage — in surroundings that feel more considered than purely functional, though those chasing the single best massage of their trip may want to temper expectations slightly.

Cinema 5.4 km 4.2/5 on Google

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap is 5.4 km east of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cinema”.

The other place under “cinema” within reach of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort is Legend Cinemas Siem Reap (6.2 km).

Sabay Cinema Siem Reap is a multiplex cinema located on Sivutha Road in central Siem Reap, operating daily from 9 AM to 11:30 PM. The venue offers multiple screens showing a mix of international films, mostly in 3D format, alongside 2D options. The ground floor has a snack bar serving popcorn and basic refreshments. Screens are equipped with air conditioning and working sound systems, with seating that includes adjustable armrests.

Visitors consistently praise the comfortable seating, clear audio, and reasonable ticket prices, typically around $2.50 to $3 per ticket. The air-conditioned environment is noted as a welcome relief in the tropical heat. However, guests mention several recurring issues: the men's toilets frequently malfunction, the snack selection is limited to popcorn and microwaved items with few alternatives, and while screen quality is adequate for enjoying films, it is not considered premium. Some visitors also report that most American releases are shown in 3D rather than 2D. The bakery that once operated here is no longer available. One visitor mentioned dark stairs inside the theater, though another dispute this observation.

This cinema suits visitors looking for an affordable movie experience during their stay in Siem Reap, particularly those seeking air-conditioned refuge during midday heat. It works best for flexible moviegoers who are not particular about snack options or cutting-edge screen technology. Arrive early if you have specific preferences for 2D showings, as 3D films dominate the schedule. Ticket prices make it accessible for casual viewing, but plan bathroom needs carefully given the reported maintenance issues with male facilities.

X-Bar

Nightlife 5.4 km 4.2/5 on Google

X-Bar is 5.4 km east of The Khmer Disc Golf Resort — a short ride rather than a walk.

X-Bar is a rooftop bar on the corner of Sivath Boulevard and Sok San Road, positioned just outside the main Pub Street strip in Siem Reap. The space has multiple levels and games—pool tables, foosball, air hockey, shuffleboard, and beer pong—along with a notable half-pipe skate ramp on the top level. It opens from 5 PM until 4 AM daily, with a rooftop layout offering views of Pub Street and the surrounding area.

Visitors consistently praise the atmosphere once it fills up after 10 PM, describing it as lively and energetic with a good mix of locals and tourists. DJs and occasional live music are regular features. Drinks are reasonably priced, with canned beers around 1.50 dollars and bottles at 1.75 dollars. Some guests mention a fire show as an occasional attraction. However, experiences vary noticeably: while most visitors enjoy the venue, particularly late into the evening, a few report disappointingly slow service and disengaged staff during quieter periods. The rooftop can be quite subdued in early evening hours with sparse crowds. One visitor noted the bartender appeared uninterested, contrasting sharply with other accounts of friendly staff. The quieter periods mean the music level is manageable compared to other nearby bars, which appeals to those wanting conversation.

X-Bar works best for late-night visits after 10 PM or especially after 1 AM when other bars close and crowds migrate here. It suits visitors seeking games, dancing, and a mixed social scene rather than a focused nightclub experience. Expect it to be calmer in early evening if you arrive before 9 PM, and best visited with a group given the games and social setup. The location just off Pub Street helps it maintain a slightly less touristy edge than venues directly on the main strip.
