We keep returning to the SUNBOO. The beach, the vibes, the people and the food. We love everything about this remote place. Yes, you need to hike in the forest or pay the taxi boat to reach Sunset Beach but it’s worth the effort or the price of this paradise. It’s a place to disconnect in all ways possible. Including wifi.
They offer comfortable accommodation from budget friendly dorms to private bungalows. On top of that, there are some interesting spots for snorkeling at each ends of the beach.
I need to mention as well about how welcoming is the staff. They make you feel at home.

Food is so delicious. They serve with full heart. We ate in four different restaurants. All their food, especially locally made food is good.

With plenty of food and drink choices, from fresh seafood and fish, breakfast and brunch options, many vegetarian and vegan dishes and delicious pizzas!

We love all the food on Sunboo’s menu. While we’re happy to highlight our favourites below, it’s safe to say that you just can’t go wrong ordering anything on their menu.
Let’s start with breakfast. Again, everything is really good, but the top of the podium has to be shared by their French Toast and their pancakes. Both are generous (easily shareable between two people unless you’ve got a big appetite or are super hungry) and absolutely delicious.
Your options for lunch and dinner are equally delicious. Some of the highlights are anything with fish or seafood (always fresh and always superb), with particular praise for the Red Snapper (which you have to order a couple of days in advance), and their Kampotzola pizza. To be clear, this is not the best pizza crust you’ll find, but the combination of Kampot green peppers and Gorgonzola cheese is - as far as we know - unique to Sunboo and is 100% crave worthy.
During the day we often settled into one of their very comfy couches (more like day beds, really) with a couple of delicious French Press coffees and a book. So lovely.
Highly recommended.
I enjoyed every single day on the island and at the hotel! I loved the beach and the sunsets, and I will never forget the incredible food. A big thank you to the entire team — truly amazing people!
