Starting with the pick up at the private lounge at the ferry terminal, Song Saa is the most wonderful experience. The island is beautiful and the grounds are really well maintained. Our villa was spacious, well appointed and had the best plunge pool and outdoor lounge area. The meals were delicious and served in different venues throughout the stay. Having a treatment at the outdoor spa over the ocean was sublime and I would highly recommend it. Loved the friendly staff too. I would happily return.
What an amazing place to stay. My partner and I have stayed all over the world in a number of different high-end accommodation resorts, including five different ones in the Maldives, and they don't even come close to the incredible stay that we had at Song Saa.
We stayed for six nights, which was not enough; we would have loved to have stayed for longer. It was actually a really, really sad goodbye. I've seen a couple of reviews here saying that staying for a couple of nights here and there is plenty. We would have loved to have stayed longer, and we stayed for the best part of a week.
First of all, the seamless boat ride from the port was really easy. They even waited for us, as our flight was delayed, without any issues and didn't charge us any more for it. They're always more than willing to bend over backwards to make sure that we arrive safe and sound.
Communication from making the booking to picking us up from the shuttle was very, very easy, and we never had any worry whatsoever. When it arrived, the staff were incredible from the first moment. We have never had a better experience when it comes to the way we were treated by the staff. They were incredibly attentive; they greeted us by name; they treated us like people and friends, were having normal conversations with us, not just hi and bye and very little interaction.
Manish, who was the manager, came and spoke to us every single day and made a point of greeting us at breakfast. Natesh, who was the customer expe
Everything about Song Saa was impressive. Check-in was seamless, we were pick up by the speed boat. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the room felt like a private retreat, spacious and stylish. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view was stunning. The restaurant served delicious meals with excellent presentation. This hotel understands hospitality at a high level.
Fantastic staff, very professional and friendly.
Villas are super nice. Food is good.
Unique experience where you can relax but also learn about Corals restauration, plastic recycling and the community.
Our first impression was that the resort was showing its age. Certain areas no longer meet the standards one would expect in this price range, both visually and in terms of quality. I am aware that the resort is located in one of the poorest countries in the world and in a nature reserve, but this was not my first stay at a 5-star-plus resort in Cambodia.
Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that there was no jetty with direct access to the sea, but only a small section of beach where it was possible to enter the water without encountering sea urchins – and this on an island that is advertised as a snorkelling paradise. In our opinion, more transparent information on the website would be desirable.
Compared to previous stays in 5-star plus resorts, it is noticeable that there are apparent cutbacks in staffing, which has an impact on care, maintenance and details. The price-performance ratio therefore does not seem to be right.
On a very positive note, the exceptional friendliness and warmth of the entire staff outshines many of the points mentioned above and leaves a lasting impression on guests. Those who can ignore the financial aspect will have no cause for complaint overall.
