BRING CASH!! OR DOWNLOAD THE BAKONG TOURIST APP TO PAY VIA QR CODE! If you are expecting luxury, this is not the place for you. But- if you just need a clean bed and a roof over your head, with a gorgeous beach steps away and amazing staff then this is the place. The place itself is dated, a bit scruffy, but the rooms a good size, the bed had a mosquito net that was much appreciated. The best thing about this place is the staff and the location. Staff were fabulous and so friendly. The location is away from most other things which we loved, forced us to slow down and just chill. You can rent a scooter to get around the island, but the hotel can organise tuktuks easily- we didn't use any and just chilled on the beach. There are sunbeds, hammocks and places to chill everywhere. The beach is incredible- the clearest water we've ever seen and gorgeous white sandy beaches, with a kayak and snorkels free to use. The food at the restaurant is pretty simple, but cheap enough. There are some places a walk down the beach if you fancied something different but we enjoyed what was on offer.

If you are coming to Koh Rong, I’d highly, highly recommend that you stay in Soksan Natura Beach Resort. We just stayed for the last 5 nights and could not have asked for a better experience. Let’s start with the beach at this place that is a 2 minute walk from your room. It is stunning. White sand, crystal clear blue water and it’s not busy at all. Feels so relaxing. The staff at the hotel is what made it for us. The young man working the reception and the tall young guy as the waiter in the restaurant are 2 of the nicest people you’ll meet on your travels. We loved the food too! The pancakes for breakfast and the seafood fried rice were our favourites. The hotel can also organise scooter rentals and boat trips for you as well. The rooms are comfortable and basic. At the end of the day you are on an island, so power outages and that sometimes happen but that’s par for the course when your view looks like the below pictures every day. Thank you guys for an amazing stay. When we come back to Koh Rong we will be staying here ☀️

Me and my boyfriend has the most amazing stay, this hotel is located in paradise the beach was beautiful gorgeous blue sea and amazing sand that had the most beautiful sunsets every night! The food in the hotel was good, the pancakes we got for breakfast were so nice served with fresh fruit and a really good portion size. I loved that this place had a refillable water station for hot and cold water when you’re travelling you spend so much money on water so this was a great addition. The room had a beautiful view of the sea. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfy. Probably my most favourite thing about the hotel itself was the staff, the staff here are absolutely incredible always greeting you with a smile. They are so friendly and kind and do as much as they can for you, thank you guys for the most amazing few days! I would 100% stay here again

We stayed here for a week and had an okay stay. The staff are very accommodating and are very very welcoming and friendly. We had a comfortable room with AC (recommend). There’s a few things to let you know of when staying and a couple of concerns for the staff. When staying, do be aware that there are lizards everywhere, that do love your room, so if you are scared of these harmless reptiles please just avoid this place in general. They do not come near you and just make some cute noises. We had no issue with them and found them enjoyable to watch! Another thing, the rooms have very thin walls in between them and you can hear every noise from your neighbour. If you think this will get on your nerves, again, do not stay here. We did have to bang on the wall a couple of times due to people being very loud at silly o’clock times. However, sometimes it is simply impossible to not hear anything. We had no problems with mosquitos here whatsoever, it was just the sand fleas that you need to be so careful of as we were bitten to bits and had to avoid the beach on our last day as it was so bad. The itch lasts a very long time and I think the staff should be doing more to prevent them from hatching in the sand on the beach. It is a health and safety worry. We have never had this issue before so it definitely is avoidable with a rake often. The shower pressure is not great but we don’t expect much when out in the middle of no where. Also there is no service or wifi at the rooms but

The location was the best one The island! The beach is the nicest beach and all the boats go snorkelling about 100metres off the beach and it is a super peaceful area. The staff were super friendly and always wanted to help! The rooms were good value for money and spacious. There was hot water in the rooms the wifi was only at the restaurant but it is close to the rooms.

Beaches 162 m 2 min walk 4.5/5 on Google

Royal Beach is 162 m north-west of Soksan Natura Beach Resort — about 2 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “beaches”.

The other place under “beaches” within reach of Soksan Natura Beach Resort is Kaoh Touch Beach (4.5 km).

Royal Beach on Koh Rong is a sandy stretch with white sand and calm, clear water. It remains relatively quiet and undeveloped compared to busier tourist beaches, with few vendors and minimal commercial activity. The beach is accessible by private boat and stays open around the clock.

Visitors consistently praise the quality of the sand and water, along with the peaceful atmosphere and sunset views. The main drawback mentioned across reviews is garbage—while hotel staff apparently clean the beach around midday, debris does wash ashore and visitors note they should take their own trash with them. The beach suits those seeking tranquillity without loud bar music or crowds, though some acknowledge that the calm comes with limited facilities and services.

Go early in the day to catch the sunrise and enjoy maximum quiet time. Bring supplies with you, including food, water and sun protection, as vendors are sparse. Plan to arrive by private boat (around $25 reportedly for a three-hour trip). This is a beach for people who want solitude and natural scenery rather than infrastructure or dining options.

Sights 1.9 km 24 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

Golden Beach Surf Club is 1.9 km north-west of Soksan Natura Beach Resort — about 24 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Soksan Natura Beach Resort are Ocean Breeze (4.7 km) and Coconut Beach (7.1 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Set on Sok San Beach on Koh Rong, this is a small surf outfit rather than a sight to simply look at — visitors come here to get in the water, either trying surfing for the first time or taking a lesson with the on-site instructors. The beach location itself is part of the draw, quieter and less crowded than the island's main strip, which gives lessons room to breathe.

Reviews are strikingly consistent and nearly all center on the instructors rather than the setting alone. Guests repeatedly single out Angelo, along with Greg and Andy, for being patient, encouraging and genuinely fun to learn from, with several mentioning that kids and complete beginners were put at ease quickly. People describe leaving with more confidence on a board than they expected, and more than one visitor says they would come back specifically because of the coaching. No recurring complaints or caveats show up in the feedback.

It is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, though Sunday hours are not listed, so it is worth checking ahead if you are planning around a weekend. Reviewers mention the low season as a particularly good time to visit, when the beach and the water are less busy. This suits families with children, couples looking for an activity to mark an occasion, and anyone curious about surfing without prior experience, since the emphasis throughout the reviews is on teaching rather than just board rental.

Bars 3.8 km 5.0/5 on Google

The Balcony Koh Rong - Wine & Cheese House is 3.8 km south-east of Soksan Natura Beach Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The other place under “bars” within reach of Soksan Natura Beach Resort is Ocean Blue Bar (4.5 km).

The Balcony is a small wine and cheese house on Long Set Beach on Koh Rong, set slightly apart from the island's beach-bar strip. It specialises in charcuterie and cheese boards paired with a curated wine list, alongside coffee and a bottomless brunch on Sundays. The setting looks out over the jungle and sea, with mellow background music adding to the relaxed feel.

Visitors consistently single out the cheese and meat boards as generous, well-made and a genuine treat for anyone missing quality cold cuts on the islands. The wine pairing draws repeated praise, as does the smoked duck croissant mentioned by more than one guest. What comes up again and again, though, is the service: reviewers describe the team, including hosts named Louise and Neil, as warm, attentive and clearly invested in guests having a good evening. No real complaints surface in the reviews, only a wish from at least one visitor that they'd had time to catch the Sunday brunch.

This is a spot for slowing down rather than a lively night out, better suited to couples or small groups after a relaxed evening with good wine and food than to travellers chasing a party scene. Given that it's tucked away rather than on the main strip, it helps to ask locally or check directions before setting out, particularly after dark. It's worth timing a visit around the Sunday bottomless brunch if that fits the schedule, and worth arriving with an appetite, since the boards are reported as substantial rather than a token snack.

MaLoop cafe and restaurant (Koh Rong) is 4.4 km east of Soksan Natura Beach Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Soksan Natura Beach Resort are Happyplace (4.4 km) and CASA MIA PIZZERIA KOH RONG (4.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

MaLoop is a cafe and restaurant on Long Set Beach in Koh Rong Samloem, opening from 6 AM to 11 PM daily. It functions as both a casual dining spot and a motorbike rental operation, located about a five-minute walk from the Long Set Ferry terminal. The kitchen serves Khmer dishes alongside cafe staples, and the place draws both day-trippers waiting out weather and island visitors in need of transport.

Visitors consistently praise the coffee as among the best on the island, and Khmer dishes like fish amok and beef lok lok on rice receive repeated mention for flavour. The staff are noted for friendliness and language skills, with the owner described as flexible and helpful, particularly regarding bike rentals. One visitor's main caution was that the blueberry milk, while tasty, runs very sweet. Motorbike rentals from here are reported as fairly priced, with well-maintained newer bikes in good working condition suitable for exploring beaches, hills and off-road terrain across the island.

The location works best for those arriving by ferry who want immediate access to island transport without venturing far, or for anyone seeking a reliable meal and coffee break during a beach day. The walk from the pier is short enough to be convenient, though worth noting if you are carrying luggage or prefer immediate beachfront dining.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Soksan Natura Beach Resort are MaLoop cafe and restaurant (Koh Rong) (4.4 km) and CASA MIA PIZZERIA KOH RONG (4.5 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Happyplace is a casual restaurant on Koh Rong that operates around the clock. The kitchen turns out pizza, pad Thai, rice dishes, fried rice, and chicken wings. It sits in a relaxed, laid-back setting that fits the island's atmosphere, and the owner and staff are noted by visitors as genuinely friendly.

The pizza receives consistent praise—visitors describe it as thin, crispy, and flavourful. Pad Thai also stands out as a strong dish. Rice and fried rice options are available, and you can request them without egg for a vegetarian choice, though some visitors have found the French fries excessively oily. Service is generally helpful, though wait times can stretch when the restaurant is busy or a large group arrives at the same time as you. Prices strike visitors as fair for an island location.

The 24-hour opening means you can eat here whenever hunger strikes during your stay on Koh Rong. Arrive when the restaurant is quiet if you prefer faster service. It suits anyone after straightforward, well-executed casual food in a friendly environment rather than fine dining.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Soksan Natura Beach Resort are MaLoop cafe and restaurant (Koh Rong) (4.4 km) and Happyplace (4.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Casa Mia Pizzeria occupies a spot on Pub Street in Long Set, Koh Rong's main social hub. It is run by an Italian chef and serves wood-fired pizza and Italian pasta dishes. The space is described as warm and cozy, with decor visitors find appealing. The restaurant changed hands in February, and current visitors report strong quality across the menu.

Guests consistently praise the pizza, particularly the crust—crispy and light—and the quality of toppings and ingredients, which visitors find difficult to reconcile with the island location. Pasta dishes, especially carbonara, draw comparable praise for authenticity and flavour. The Italian chef is noted as a visible presence who brings genuine expertise to the kitchen. Staff friendliness is mentioned across multiple reviews. A note for context: earlier negative reviews online relate to the previous management; the current ownership has shifted visitor experience noticeably. Wine selection appears curated, with visitors mentioning specific choices like Amarone and Aperol Spritz.

The restaurant sits on Pub Street, making it accessible in the evening when tourists typically gather. Go expecting prices higher than casual island eateries but justified by ingredient quality and technique. It suits visitors looking for genuinely made Italian food rather than tourist approximations, and those willing to spend accordingly for dinner with friends or a date night on the island. Reservations are advisable on busy evenings given its popularity and island location.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Soksan Natura Beach Resort are MaLoop cafe and restaurant (Koh Rong) (4.4 km) and Happyplace (4.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Located on Pub Street near Longset Beach, this Turkish restaurant serves kebabs, pide (Turkish flatbread), wraps, mixed platters, and Turkish yoghurt with fresh fruit in a casual beachside setting. It is open daily from late morning until 10pm, making it a reliable option for both lunch and dinner during a stay on Koh Rong.

Guests consistently single out the kebab and beef or feta pide as standouts, with several mentioning they returned more than once during their trip because the food impressed them so much. The Turkish yoghurt with fresh fruit comes up repeatedly as a genuine rarity in the region, and reviewers describe it as generous and authentic. Beyond the food, the owner is mentioned by name in spirit if not literally — described again and again as warm, attentive, and visibly passionate about both the cooking and the service, checking in on tables and making sure orders were right. Service speed is noted as good even when the place is busy, and card payments are accepted without extra fees, which reviewers flag as a pleasant surprise on the island.

This is a place worth visiting more than once if time allows, given how many guests report going back the next day. It suits travellers looking for a break from the usual Khmer or Western beach-bar fare, and those wanting a full meal rather than a quick snack. Given the consistently high praise and popularity, arriving a little ahead of peak dinner hours is a sensible move to avoid a wait, though no specific reservation system is mentioned. It works equally well for solo diners, couples, and groups sharing a platter.

Ava Café is 4.5 km south-east of Soksan Natura Beach Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Soksan Natura Beach Resort are Bella Vista (4.6 km) and Ma Baker (4.6 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Ava Café sits near the Long Set pier on Koh Rong, a small coffee stop for travellers staying or passing through Long Beach. The menu runs to espresso-based drinks with options like oat milk and flavoured syrups, served in cups reviewers noted for their quality, alongside iced versions such as vanilla or caramel lattes.

Visitors are consistent in singling out the coffee itself as a standout on the island, calling it strong and well made, and several say it is the best they have found in the Long Beach area. The service also comes up repeatedly, with mentions of a friendly, quick owner who is often smiling, and a resident puppy that gets a mention too. The one recurring caveat is about the seating area, with a request for more fans to deal with the heat, and one note that dessert options are limited.

The café opens daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, making it a straightforward morning or early afternoon stop rather than an evening one. It suits travellers based around Long Beach who want a reliable coffee fix between beach time, and those looking for dietary options like oat milk will find them here. Given the limited seating comfort mentioned by some, it may work better for a quick coffee than a long lounging session, though the quality and service are what keep people coming back.
