The staff are very kind and welcoming, and the bungalows are spacious. The location is great, just in front of the beach.
However, please note that the family bungalow is located just above stagnant water and there are a lot of mosquitoes that can get inside through gaps in the floor, even with mosquito nets, as there is no proper insulation. You can hear everything: construction noise during the day, the rooster early in the morning, and drunk people coming back late at night without respecting others!
I stayed a month at Sok Mean Bungalow and really enjoyed my stay. Sopheak, the owner is very helpful in many ways. He will assist you with any need you may have regarding your stay, the island, your health issues, your activities or even your traveling plans. This a a Cambodian Family owned business. All the staff is kind and helpful. They a generous, happy and relax, they are Cambodian . The rooms are basic, no AC, no luxury, but there is everything you need if you travel on a budget. The Bungalows are a plus. I would definitely go back to stay there and upgrade in a Bungalow.
The staff was very friendly and always available, and my bungalow was clean and comfortable. Once past the entrance area (under construction) the gardens and quiet area were quite nice. Unfortunately the wifi was megaslow and there wasn't any drinking water. There were cafes and restaurants nearby for everything else though. For the price, it was a nice spot!
Beautiful location with the most attentive host, always there to share a recommendation, story or have a chat. Easily the best accomodation on the island. Beautiful, spacious bungalows with a priceless view. Helped organise activities for us too. Wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again and will be recommending to anyone I meet who is visiting Cambodia.
