I’ve been a big fan of Bill Bensley ever since staying at the InterContinental Danang, so I was especially excited for Shinta Mani Angkor. While this property carries his signature touch, I do feel the design here doesn’t quite stand out as boldly as some of his other projects.
The main building (lobby and guest rooms) feels a bit more restrained and slightly cramped, possibly due to space limitations. The rooms themselves show a bit of wear. In contrast, the wing across the street — where the restaurant and spa are located — carries more of that dramatic “Angkor” spirit, with stronger thematic elements and a bit more wow factor.
That said, the overall experience was still very solid, and I genuinely left wishing I could stay longer.
Service is where this hotel truly shines. Our concierge, Daly, was exceptional — she helped arrange our Angkor tour, restaurant reservations, and spa bookings seamlessly. The private car service was a highlight: returning from the heat to a chilled bottle of water and a lotus-scented cold towel felt heavenly. The tour guide arranged by the hotel was knowledgeable and tailored the experience to our interests, which made a big difference.
Breakfast was also excellent — one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had, with a thoughtful mix of local Khmer dishes and Western options. The pool area was pleasant and well serviced.
The only small hiccup was at checkout, where it took a bit of time to sort out the hotel credit from The Edit. Otherwise, t
I recently stayed at the Shinta Mani Angkor and had a wonderful experience. After visiting 5 different countries on the trip, this is the hotel that I enjoyed the most. The service was amazing, from the reception staff, to the housekeeping, restaurant, and pool staff, they were top notch. A special recognition to Pisal, who was an excellent driver during my entire stay (airport transfers and Angkor Wat tour) as well as Khemrin who was my guide for the day. They were both very friendly, so knowledgeable, and always professional. The hotel itself is beautiful and so well taken care of. It is not too far from Angkor Wat and related sites, as well as within walking distance of the markets/Pub St. I would highly recommend this hotel and booking tour services with them - ask for Pisal and Khemrin. I hope to be back in the future.
I‘ve heard about the Shinta Mani for years and finally got to experience it. It was amazing. We booked a villa and it was absolutely stunning. It also came with a butler…Sokha became our favorite person while there. She went above and beyond to make us feel really taken care of. Also shout out to Alex in the restaurant who made breakfast every day really special. Location and happy hour were also so great. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone visiting.
An unforgettable stay from beginning to end.
Even before we arrived, the hotel team helped us arrange our airport transfer, our Angkor Wat tour, and our Floating Village tour. Everything was perfectly organized, so a special thank you to everyone who assisted us.
The hotel beautifully blends colonial elegance with Cambodian character. The black-and-white design creates a sophisticated atmosphere, while details like elephants and lotus motifs constantly remind you where you are.
Our room was spacious, and staying in a pool-access room made it even more enjoyable. The gardens, pool and bar areas were all beautiful places to relax. The evening atmosphere at the bar, especially with the live music, was one of the highlights of our stay—the singer was absolutely fantastic.
The food was excellent throughout our stay. If you have the chance, don't miss the fine dining restaurant and its tasting menu. The flavors were creative, the presentations were beautiful, and the whole experience was memorable.
Another detail we really appreciated was the Shinta Mani Foundation gift shop. Besides offering unique locally made products that you won't easily find elsewhere, every purchase also supports the Foundation, making it a meaningful souvenir to take home.
We truly can't wait to come back.
We have just spent 3 nights ar Shanti Mani and can not fault it. The rooms and general environment were welcoming and very comfortable. All the staff are so attentive and helpful and Chanthra, who looked after us at breakfast each day, was just a delight.
A lovely peaceful hotel
