Rikitikitavi Restaurant & Bar offers a genuinely enjoyable dining experience, combining great food with warm, attentive service. The menu is diverse and well-crafted, with dishes that are both flavorful and nicely presented. Whether you’re in the mood for local specialties or more familiar Western options, everything is prepared with care and fresh ingredients.
What really stands out is the service. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and quick to respond without being intrusive, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time, enjoy your meal, and feel well looked after.
Overall, Rikitikitavi is a reliable spot for a satisfying meal and a pleasant evening, thanks to its consistent quality in both food and service.
Rikitikitavi restaurant is arguably the best "front-row seat" in all of Kampot. Nestled right on the riverfront, this establishment has perfected the art of the elevated dining experience.
Here is my review of this vibrant local staple:
The Atmosphere: Kampot’s Best View
The real draw here is the second-floor open-air terrace. It offers an unparalleled vantage point for people-watching, capturing the laid-back, bohemian energy of Kampot’s riverfront. Whether you’re watching the sunset reflect off the water or simply observing the town’s daily rhythm, the breeze and the view make it the ideal place to settle in for a few hours.
Culinary Highlights
Rikitikitavi is one of the few spots that manages to execute both creative starters and comforting Western classics with equal flair:
* Chicken Wontons: These are an absolute standout. They arrive perfectly crisp, holding a flavorful filling that strikes a great balance between savory and light. They are the ideal "snack" to pair with a cold drink while watching the world go by.
* Mushroom & Swiss Burger: It’s refreshing to find a burger in Cambodia that doesn't compromise on quality. The patty was juicy, the Swiss cheese provided that signature creamy sharpness, and the mushrooms added a deep, earthy finish. It’s hearty, well-proportioned, and hits the mark for a classic comfort meal.
The Experience
What sets this place apart is the consistency. It’s vibrant, the staff is welcoming, and the menu is expansive enough that you could vi

My overall experience here wasn’t up to the expectation. I saw many good reviews so I decided to choose this place. The front facade looks really nice and the complimentary breakfast was great. I was intentionally planed to stay for 2 nights but I ended up leaving a day earlier. The room wasn’t cleaned, there were cockroaches 🪳 on the floor. The first one I saw , I thought it was okay but then I started to see another one and few other insects in the room. The bedsheet and armchair cushions was dusty too. I don’t know if they check the cleaning quality before letting the guest in.
Premium location. Peaceful. Friendly. Don’t go anywhere else.
This quality hotel overlooks the river and prom. Central location.
Less than a minute’s walk to all the bars and restaurants. But peaceful and quiet.
The plentiful staff are very attentive and friendly.
Breakfast is all day, served at your table, overlooking the river.
Also a great place for an evening cocktail. Cheap as well.
Did a day trip to Kep. $8 tuktuk each way, using the Grab app which is very fast and efficient throughout Cambodia (have never waited more than 4 minutes, even in areas out of towns).
Also $1 tuktuk to go to a hotel/spa out of town to use their pool for the day. They’re all free as long as you buy drinks or food.
4 min walk to the Virak Buntham pick up point for bus transfers to Phnom Penh, etc.
