Would highly recommend. Lovely welcoming family who own it. Great location for kayaks and a peaceful night sleep! Easy to get grab tuk tuks to and from town. Food on site great though. Nothing bad to say. Really enjoyed my stay- thank you. Would happily stay longer and come back again.

This is by far the most caring hostess we met in Cambodia. The rooms are decorated with great attention to detail, there are cozy seating areas on the terrace, we were offered free water and fruit several times, were allowed to use kayaks for free to paddle in the Green Cathedral, and the food was delicious. Truly a top-notch place! Anne and family

You MUST stay here! It’s the most wholesome place I’ve ever stayed. The service is the best I’ve ever experienced. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and they were always so friendly and helpful. We got fruit and water whenever we were in the communal area, rented a scooter for just $6 per day and they even gave us water and snacks for our night bus. We had to check out in the morning but our bus wasn’t until the evening, so we asked if they could keep our bags for the day, and they went above and beyond, by giving us access to a bungalow for us to have for the day and shower in before our bus at night! This was so kind and really made our experience even better. The vibe of the place is just wonderful, it’s so relaxed and the bungalows are so cosy, the hammock on the decking was a real highlight. You instantly feel relaxed when you come here. The food at the restaurant is also delicious. If we are ever back in Kampot, I would 100% come back here.

We had a wonderful stay at Retro. The location is peaceful and relaxing, yet only a 10-minute drive from town — the perfect balance. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious — the chicken lok lak was the best I’ve had in Cambodia! We also really appreciated the thoughtful touch of being welcomed with a complimentary glass of cold water every time we sat down at the restaurant. Such a small gesture, but it made a big difference.

Nicest place to be around. Great people, happy staff, well organized and clean. Most of the stuff built using natural products. Feels more wilder right next to you Canal with a lot of mangrove forest. After the meal, it is a perfect place to go for a small evening after dinner we moved. The food they prepare is really good compared to in town restaurants . One stop to rent a motorbike for affordable price. Or rent a electric bike or a bicycle. They have kayaks that you can use to go around the small canal for a sunrise or just to make a loop..
