We loved our stay at Sytha’s serene and beautiful garden resort. Our family of seven occupied the family bungalow, which was spacious, comfortable, and clean—plus, the staff was so accommodating with housekeeping requests. The hotel rooms, standard bungalows, and hotel bungalows are also kept up nicely. Sytha has an impeccable vintage style displayed throughout the resort—there’s always something artistic and interesting to see. The resort staff are all friendly and took great care of us. Cocktails from the bar were excellent. We had Sytha’s team prepare a special family party meal for our extended family of 24 one evening and the food and setup were gorgeous. The garden grounds are lush and fascinating—we took walks every morning. The poool is massive and well-maintained. Beyond the actual accommodations, Sytha is a wonderful person worth getting to know. We feel like we’ve found a new long-time friend. We hope to return in the future!
Phum Khmer Resort was a very special place for us, as this is where our first experience of Cambodia began. We chose Ratanakiri and Banlung instead of the more typical tourist destinations, and it gave us a completely different experience — staying surrounded by real, untouched nature.
The resort has a huge, beautiful natural area that is very interesting to explore, especially with children. There is so much life around you: birds, spiders, caterpillars, centipedes and many other insects. There is also a lovely cat living on the resort grounds, and our daughter absolutely adored it. For her, every walk around the property became a little adventure and an opportunity to discover the natural world.
However, what truly stood out to us was the hospitality of Mr. Sytha. He is the kind of person who goes far beyond what you would normally expect from a resort owner. He helped us organize trips, including visits to the waterfalls and the volcanic lake, was always available whenever we needed anything, and constantly looked for ways to make our stay more comfortable.
We especially appreciated how attentive he was to our daughter. We were travelling with a small child, and the resort prepared special meals for her according to our requests. Mr. Sytha also upgraded our room to make our stay more comfortable.
We have stayed in many places during our travels, but we have never experienced such genuinely warm and personal hospitality. Thanks to Mr. Sytha and his team, our first trip
Ratanakiri Phum Khmer Resort – A Peaceful Haven with Heart
Ratanakiri Phum Khmer Resort is a truly wonderful place to stay. The resort is beautifully set up, with pretty gardens, a productive vegetable garden, and a good‑sized outdoor pool surrounded by very pleasant outdoor spaces. There are plenty of restrooms and showers near the pool, making it easy and comfortable to relax without interruption.
The rooms are very comfortable and scenic, letting you enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and natural surroundings. It is an ideal retreat if you are looking for a calm, unhurried escape in the countryside.
What really sets the resort apart, however, is the host, Sytha. He is a superb, very friendly host with a deep knowledge of the area and a genuine passion for helping and supporting his community. Sytha donates part of the resort’s profits to support education for children in rural villages. He has been a key player in locating remote communities and finding ways to fund teachers and schools for these otherwise unreached areas. His commitment makes staying here not only enjoyable but also meaningful.
Ratanakiri Phum Khmer Resort is more than just a beautiful place to stay—it is run by a truly decent and inspiring human being. Highly recommended.
We spent two nights at this beautiful resort; unfortunately, we couldn't stay longer because we were meeting friends in PP. The owner is very kind and accommodating and can organize all sorts of tours. Our cabin was very clean. But the absolute best thing was the food—the best I've had in Cambodia so far.
We had an amazing stay here!! The owner, Sytha, was incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating, he genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay special. His English is perfect and he was always happy to help with anything we needed. The location is beautiful and picturesque right in nature and the pool is a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Being able to rent scooters on site was super convenient and made getting around really easy. Highly recommend staying here we would definitely come back!
