THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE RESTAURANT.
Don’t miss trying Hot Khmer Coffee with cold milk and hot milk. We tried and enjoyed both of their combination. It is much more affordable and tastes the best.
We had Paradise pancake with banana, cashew, chocolate, and cinnamon it was really good. We had cheese omelette with tomato. That was really good too.
Staff are kind, happy and service oriented people just like major majority of the Cambodian.
Will comeback to eat more.
Peaceful stay there. The rooms were good and the staff was kind and helpful. The restaurant has a lot of choice for food and is tasteful.
Wifi is not very good and there is no hot water in the shower but that is how it is on the island.
we got dropped off on Saracen beach, the hostel arranged a tractor to collect us ($15 between 4) and then you have to hike down to the hostel through jungle for about 5-10 minutes. on the way back this was BRUTAL with our backpacks 😂 room only had a fan and it was really really hot. food was nice. WiFi is a bit naff. just be aware that once you're on the beach there's very limited options of places to eat unless you want to do the walk back to saracen beach which takes half an hour and the way is hilly and rocky. lovely for a quiet getaway from the business of koh rong !
Perfect stay and for the best price on this beach.
Super good restaurant with a lot of variety opened all day long and with average prices.
Every person we interacted with were super nice and helpful all day long.
The beach is amazing and very peaceful.
*Note: this review is related to Paradise’s restaurant offering only. It is not a review of their accommodation offering.
The newest entry in the restaurant game on Sunset Beach is, we think, still finding their game. Some things are well worth ordering and are good value for money. For example, their western-style breakfasts - in particular the German breakfast and the traditional English Breakfast - are very good (*Note: don’t sleep on their hash brown potatoes. Best on the beach and crave worthy).
In addition their Barracuda “fries” - basically battered fish fillets - and their fried noodles with veggies and chicken are quite good as well. However, too many other dishes are mediocre at best.
Part of their challenge is that they are trying to be all things to all people. They are owned and operated by Cambodians, so you would think that their Khmer food would be really good. But it doesn’t hold a candle to the outstanding Khmer food at Robinson Bunglows just up the beach.
We suspect that this is because they expect their kitchen to be able to produce both Khmer food and a wide range of western offerings. This is a challenge for even experienced kitchens, and Paradise is too early in their development to be able to take on this challenge.
As to their wide range of western offerings, you can do much better for only a little more money at either Kamaku or Sunboo.
