O'hamok family homestay & tours is a family-run guest house on Street 313 in Krong Battambang, Cambodia, set in lush greenery. Accommodation is in a traditional Khmer house built on stilts from wood and papyrus, looking out over the property's large garden and a large pond filled with goldfish. Plants, subtle scents and birdsong make up the everyday backdrop.
The owner is French-Khmer and runs guided tours in English in and around Battambang. The tours cover the area's gastronomy, crafts, history, religion, culture, economy and nature, so the house works as a base for exploring the surroundings rather than only a place to sleep.
The hosts describe the guest house as suited to people who like nature and animals and who are looking for authentic accommodation. It sits in a residential neighbourhood, so it can be noisy at times: people are up with the sun, and pagoda events, weddings, fun...

The area
The guest house is on Street 313 in Krong Battambang, Cambodia, in a residential neighbourhood surrounded by greenery. The host's guided tours take in the surroundings of Battambang through its food, crafts, history, religion, culture, economy and nature. Because the area is residential, sounds from nearby homes and pagoda events carry to the property on some days.
Good to know
The hosts point out that the residential setting can be noisy at times, as households wake at sunrise and weddings, funerals, pagoda events and Buddhist festivals are held in homes during the week. They recommend bringing earplugs for the whole trip. Guided tours in English are run by the host, who is French-Khmer.
Homestay was great, very very peaceful. Beware of low ceilings, haha! It even had a pool table, that was great to use. We could just about drive our Tuk Tuk down the road and into the space. Really lovely owner. You may have a bathroom with a bad ceiling connector at the top so you can often hear the other bathroom when you’re using your own, but that was a minor issue. Bit out of town, but would definitely stay again.
Beautiful place to stay. Super sweet hosts who made the place feel like home. I loved staying in a calm natural atmosphere it far from the center of town. Access to a kitchen, free tap water, and hot shower was a plus. So worth the price of the room!
Special place, with a beautiful jungle garden. It is a great place for relaxing and for planning trips with tuk tuk or motorbike around the Battambang. Traditional houses, breakfast with garden view, puppy Zuma, very friendly family - it is the best combination for starting our traveling in Cambodia. Our children love the place too.
The family is lovely, helpful, and cooperative.
It is a jungle setting that is very tropical. Fun for all those who would love a real wooden house.
The location is good and convenient, more so if you rent a bike or car.
The breakfast is fair for a price of 3.5 USD.
Great setting, lovely family ran business, highly recommend this place if staying in Battambang, short Tuk Tuk ride to town centre or pleasant walk along river. Great value for money. Don’t let no air con put you off fans more than sufficient to keep cool at night. 👏👏👏👏😎🛺🛺🛺🛺
