The bus just stopped out of nowhere, not in the bus terminal. Waiting for grab motor for 30 minutes but no one wants to pick me up. The local motorcycle driver asking for 120thb which is quite expensive since it's only 6km to the hostel.
But then I gave up so took a tuktuk for 100 to the hostel.
The hostel is good, clean, new with industrial themed which is super cool.
They even provide locker with pad lock, towel and 1 mineral water.
Toilet and separate shower cubicle with amenities and hot water.
Walking distance to 7eleven, many food vendor and the big market for fake / secondhand products.
Need 12 minutes walk to the border or van service to Bangkok .
Lots of tips and help for hostel and Aranypatheat.
I stopped here to explore the area of after Aranypatheat after crossing the boarder and leaving Seam Reap, there are a selection of free to visit ancient temples and national parks within and hours ride.
Note, there are no taxis in Aranypatheat, only Grab motorbikes. If you want a TukTuk (call it that not a taxi). When you enter the boarder on foot or are dropped here, go to the Boarder Hotel a 2 minute walk away, grab a drink there or over the road and ask the hotel if they can call you a TukTuk. For any reason you have to walk, stop in the three 7-Elevens on the way and the Cafe Amazon's and other coffee houses to grab some aircon, drop your bags and take a break. I walked myself carrying a 17K bag and 10K front bag at 3pm in 40 degree's (that's just backpacking, so no moaning).
Once you're here, use Google Translate to speak to your hosts as they don't speak much English. However, they are very friendly and happy to help but you might find them more blunt if you can't communicate with them. I'm immensely grateful they helped arrange a moped in minutes for me, with no fuss, a good rate and no passport or large sums of cash to cover the bike loan. The bike speedometer didn't work but considering I don't ride fast, know the speed on a bike as I ride at home and it was so cheap and easy, I wasn't complaining one bit. A full tank of fuel too!
I had the female dorm room to myself and loved it, brilliant big and very secure
Really wonderful staff, clean and toilet paper / towel provided! Great location too for border crossing.
However, not sure if it was a one night thing but next door was popping off until about 5:00am; which we could hear clear as day.
Location: 1.3 k.m from the border(Train station )at Indochina trade center easy to find food and 7/11 nearby
Room type : Bulks and Private rooms
Price : moderate, free Wifi and Bottle of water
Bathroom: liquid soap , shampoo, hot shower, hair dryer
Hostel room: Bulk bed is quite hard for someone with head light(2 colors) ,power outlet, towel and lockers (deposit 300 baht for the key) ,air con working perfectly and some sharing area but no proper kitchen
Service: very attentive female front staff especially on the day chip 10/10
Overall: 8/10 recommended.
Good and pretty isolated location. 7- eleven and laundry service near by. Just opposite to Benjawan and only 2km from to border to Cambodia.
We went during the long weekend but it was the same timing with a big festival, Pchum Ben. So almost no shops opened on Sat (14Oct), few were back and opened on Sun when we rushed to ealk around, find something local to eat and left home.
It is not too far to drive from Bangkok, just 3.5 hours but we have to consider of we would come bavk again if we have no intention to buy much at the whole sales market
