I accidentally found this place using Google Maps on an extremely hot day when I was starting to feel I couldn't find a decent place to stay in Battambang...When I met Mony and her sister, they invited me to sit and have a glass of water before looking at the room, and I knew instantly that I wanted to live here. As it turned out, the room, the lush green vegetation, and the warmth of this family were all beyond this world. I am so grateful to Mony and their family for all the love and care they gave me over the four months I stayed here ❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful host family. Authentic and rather lavish Cambodian meals. We had one of the two older style wooden bungalows. Very clean and well set up with a large bathroom.
The best was eating their Cambodian style breakfast and dinner under cover next to the outdoor kitchen and talking about life now and under Khmer Rouge.
We borrowed bikes to ride 20km one day and 30 the next: down the river and out main roads to the beginning of farms. We walked the streets around the homestay at dawn. We were going to bypass Battambang but loved our two nights there.
The best part of our entire 3 weeks in Cambodia!
We fell in love with our cottage and Mony and her family. Two booked nights turned into five, and leaving was so hard. We all kept on hugging each other. Incredibly hardworking and genuine people with a passion for their city. We ate every breakfast and 3 out of 5 dinners there. I kid you not, the best Cambodian food is here. I mentioned wanting to try more local cuisine, and they made it happen. I don't know how we could have eaten all that food at every meal for such a price. I wish I had taken their cooking class. A lot of the ingredients used in the meals were from their garden.
We rented a scooter from them at a great price for all 5 days to explore Battambang. They gave a few recommendations to some local spots--we found the best bread and roasted pork! We even booked the trip with lunch to Otaki with them. It's the countryside, 30 minutes from town. A must experience! For sure we never would have found on our own.
Still daydreaming about the food, and afternoons hanging out on the hammock and porch! Thank you for giving us such an incredible experience and memory of Battambang and Cambodia!

We stayed here for a couple of nights and took a cooking class. This family was absolutely amazing, kind and accommodating in every way. I highly recommend staying here to any traveler who wishes to feel at home and be part of a family.
