Mad Monkey Phnom Penh was hands down one of the highlights of my trip to Cambodia! The social atmosphere here is unmatched it's super easy to make friends as a solo traveler. The pool area is perfect for cooling off and hanging out during the day, and the evening events bring everyone together. The hostel team and reps bring so much energy every day, and the travel desk made organizing day trips to the Killing Fields and S-21 completely hassle-free. The dorms are comfortable with great AC and individual lockers. If you’re coming to Phnom Penh and want good vibes, clean rooms, and amazing people, book this place! 🇰🇭✨

First time staying at Mad Monkey and it was great! Staff were super upbeat and welcoming from the start. Building is stunning. Rooms are clean. Food and drinks are great! Faye was also amazing at making sure you were okay and would even pop by to just have a general chat. Would definitely come back!

Honestly, as a couple who are a bit on the quieter side we were slightly sceptical about booking a Mad Monkey. We had a really bad hostel back in Da Lat so we decided we would go with a chain and honestly I would never look back. Firstly when we arrived the staff were lovely and also gave us an extra pillow each as I like having 2, and a free towel. The beds are HUGE, a double bed each with massive lockers. The rooms are also massive. We got a free cocktail on arrival and then got some more after which were all lovely and affordable. We ate every meal here also because the food was 10/10. We did the S21 and Killing field tour through the hostel and once again we were very impressed with the service. If you were looking to socialise there was massive social areas and events on to mix and a lovely pool. This is in my top 3 hostels of SE asia so far in 2 months, if anything maybe the best.

I had the most amazing stay at mad monkey and feel that I have made so many friends, had many exciting adventures and experiences with alot og relaxing involved also. The staff were so wonderful, helpful and kind and as a solo traveller this made me feel safe and looked after. Special shout out to Tra who is a BADDIE. He works so hard to make everyone feel included. I had so much fun with him and so many laughs. He is now a treasured friend 💖 i also have to give shout out to Leakena who took me on amazing walking tour and told me so much about the Cambodian culture. In addition the hostel is gorgeous, clean anr comfortable. I cant wait to come back and visit again.

Blue cafe is 108.5 km west of Mad Monkey Phnom Penh — a short ride rather than a walk.

Blue cafe is a small restaurant located in Choam, Chi Phat, offering casual dining in a modest setting. It serves as a neighbourhood spot where locals gather, and the menu is reasonably priced. The compact size means it maintains an intimate, unpretentious atmosphere rather than catering to large groups or formal occasions.

Visitors consistently describe the place as straightforward and good value. Reviewers mention that it caters well to local tastes and habits, with pricing that won't strain a budget. The feedback is generally positive though expressed in measured terms rather than enthusiastic praise — most comments fall in the "ok" to "good" range, suggesting it delivers what you'd expect from a neighbourhood cafe without particular surprises.

This is the kind of place to visit if you're comfortable with simple, casual dining and want to eat where local people do. Given its size, it works better for individuals or small groups than large parties. There's no information about opening hours or specific menu items, so it's worth asking locals for current details when you arrive in Chi Phat, particularly if you have dietary requirements or are visiting during off-peak times.
