My wife and I had a great 2 week stay at this lovely boutique hotel. The grounds are green and beautiful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our bed was a bit hard for my liking but my wife slept very well. And I guess what makes it one of the best places we stayed, at while slow travelling through Asia is the friendly and accommodating staff. They were so nice and extremely helpful. This hotel is within a few minutes walk to many restaurants and shops and a 10 min walk to pub street ( if that's what you're after). They have 2 pool and the one in front of our room was excellent, we spent many hours there relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave.

Great hotel when traveling on a budget. Friendly staff at the front desk, and great communication through Airbnb. We even had travel documents that needed to be printed, and they were able to accommodate. Rooms were clean, and aircon worked well. It is $30 USD each way to be picked up from the airport in a car if booked from the hotel.

I spent 2 nights there but ending up with so many disappointments. The AC doesn't work well, and the electricity was cut off many times in the early morning (around 3a.m-6a.m) both days. It's really disturbing my sleep. The room is a bit small and there isn't also enough car parking space. Overall, the experience i got from there is not worth the money I paid there. Byee!

The hotel is in a very good location, you find everything you need really close to it. Pub Street and the market are only 15 minutes away and it's a nice walk. The hotel has two good size pools you can use, the rooms are big and clean, internet connection works very good most of the time and the staff is very supportive with whatever you need.

Mealea Watbo

Restaurants 183 m 2 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

Mealea Watbo is 183 m north-west of Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel — about 2 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel are HAVEN (371 m) and Ground Zero: Martial Arts & Yoga Centre (505 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Mealea Watbo is a Cambodian restaurant on Street 26 in Siem Reap, open daily from 11 in the morning until 11 at night. The setting combines traditional and modern decoration, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and guests mention a view that adds to the experience. The menu runs through Khmer staples such as fish, chicken and soup dishes, finished with desserts like coconut ice cream served with rice jelly and watermelon.

Visitors describe the food as flavourful and well presented, with several first-time tasters of Cambodian cuisine saying they were won over from the first bite. Value for money comes up often, with more than one reviewer calling it the best they have found in Siem Reap. Staff attentiveness is a recurring theme, and one server, Kakada, is repeatedly singled out by name for her warmth, clear English and thoughtful recommendations, including relocating diners indoors when insects became a nuisance during an outdoor meal. The lone practical note is a request to remove bones from the fish soup, a small detail rather than a wider complaint.

Given the long daily hours, it suits both a casual solo dinner and a small business gathering, as one guest describes using it for a work dinner. It works equally well for travellers wanting an introduction to Khmer food and for those who already know it and want a reliable, well-run spot. With close to 1,300 reviews and a rating that sits at 4.9, it draws a steady crowd, so arriving during peak dinner hours may mean a short wait, though nothing in the reviews suggests reservations are essential. Outdoor seating is worth requesting for the view, provided you don't mind the occasional insect that comes with dining near greenery in the evening.

Cafés & bakeries 325 m 4 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

The Bean Embassy Roastery & Specialty Coffee is 325 m south-west of Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel — about 4 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel are Dialogue (592 m) and The muffin man, Siem Reap (633 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

The Bean Embassy is a roastery-café set on the grounds of the Chocolate Garden east of Siem Reap, away from the town's busier streets. It has its own on-site roastery, a small house with plenty of surrounding green space, and both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu runs from breakfast plates, poached eggs and hollandaise among them, to pastries like almond croissants, alongside a full specialty coffee list with detailed flavour descriptions and the option to choose your coffee's strength and sweetness.

Visitors consistently rate the coffee itself very highly, describing it as rich and well-made, with attentive staff who explain the beans and offer small touches like free cookies or water alongside the order. The setting is repeatedly praised for its quiet, family-friendly, green atmosphere, a contrast to more central cafés. The recurring criticisms are the price, which some guests find high for Cambodia, and occasional slow service at busier times, along with air conditioning that has not always kept up with the heat.

It opens early, from 6am daily until 9pm, which makes it a good stop for breakfast after an overnight bus or an early start to the day. Because it sits on the Chocolate Garden grounds outside the central Pub Street area, it suits visitors looking for a slower, quieter morning or afternoon rather than a quick coffee between sightseeing stops. Bringing a book or planning to linger is worthwhile, since guests describe it as a place for sitting and relaxing rather than passing through, and it works well for couples, families, or anyone wanting a calmer alternative to the town centre's cafés.

HAVEN

Restaurants 371 m 5 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

HAVEN is 371 m south-west of Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel — about 5 minutes on foot. Of the 6 places under “restaurants” within a kilometre of the hotel, this is the best rated.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel are Mealea Watbo (183 m) and Ground Zero: Martial Arts & Yoga Centre (505 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

HAVEN is a garden restaurant on Chocolate Road in Siem Reap, open daily except Monday from 10am to 10pm. It operates as a training restaurant, giving disadvantaged young adults hands-on experience in hospitality, and the owners are frequently on site, often stopping by tables to chat with guests. The menu runs from curries to salads to vegan options, alongside cocktails and coffee, served in a leafy, relaxed setting that guests describe as an oasis from the streets outside.

Reviews are strikingly consistent: visitors praise the food quality across multiple dishes, from the fish to a vegan carrot cake to a beef salad described as beautifully plated, and several mention returning more than once, including one group of twenty who noted every dish arrived together and on time. Service is repeatedly called warm and attentive, with more than one reviewer describing staff handling a problem, such as a payment issue, calmly and helpfully. The training-restaurant concept is mentioned often and clearly adds to the experience for many diners, who say knowing the purpose behind the place makes the meal feel more worthwhile.

Given the volume and consistency of praise, HAVEN suits travellers looking for a relaxed sit-down meal rather than a quick bite, including groups, couples, and anyone wanting vegan or vegetarian choices alongside more standard dishes. It is closed on Mondays, so plan around that, and the garden setting makes it a good lunch stop if you are already exploring the area rather than a destination requiring a special detour, though several guests treat it as exactly that.

Parks & nature 499 m 6 min walk 4.8/5 on Google

Kulen Elephant Forest is 499 m north-west of Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel — about 6 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “parks & nature”.

The next two places under “parks & nature” from Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel are Royal Independence Gardens (1.3 km) and Flying Foxes (1.4 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Kulen Elephant Forest is an elephant retirement sanctuary set within a forested park outside Siem Reap, where a small number of elephants live out their later years in a natural setting rather than performing or giving rides. Visitors join a guided tour through the forest, observing and, in many cases, getting close to the elephants as they roam, bathe or feed, with mahouts and staff on hand to explain each animal's background. Lunch is included as part of the day, and transport to and from the centre is arranged for guests.

Reviews are strikingly consistent: guests repeatedly praise the guides by name, describing them as knowledgeable, funny and clearly attached to the elephants, and several mention that the mahouts treat the animals like family. The focus on retirement and rehabilitation rather than entertainment comes up often, as does the sense that the operation supports both the elephants' welfare and the local community. The pacing of the tour is mentioned favourably, with breaks built in, and food is called a highlight rather than an afterthought. The one practical caveat raised is accessibility: the terrain is not well suited to wheelchairs.

The park opens daily from 8am to 6pm, and given the nature of the visit — walking through forest terrain to spend time near the elephants — it works best for travellers who are reasonably mobile and interested in conservation rather than a quick photo stop. Families with older children and couples looking for a slower, more reflective wildlife encounter seem well suited to it, and booking a guided tour rather than turning up independently appears to be the standard way to visit.

Ground Zero: Martial Arts & Yoga Centre

Restaurants 505 m 6 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

Ground Zero: Martial Arts & Yoga Centre is 505 m south of Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel — about 6 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel are Mealea Watbo (183 m) and HAVEN (371 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

This is primarily a martial arts and yoga training centre in Siem Reap that also runs a small cafe for members and visitors, serving fresh meals, coconut water and smoothies under the guidance of a chef who co-owns the place. The centre offers disciplines including Bjj, Kun Khmer and Bokator, alongside yoga and movement classes, plus facilities such as an ice bath. Longer stays are possible too, including a 28-day retreat format.

Guests consistently describe a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere where newcomers are folded in quickly by both staff and other trainees, even if they arrive nervous or with no prior experience. Coaches are praised individually for distinct teaching styles and personalities, which reviewers say keeps training varied rather than repetitive. The food served on site comes up often and favourably, described as fresh and appealing rather than an afterthought to the training. No significant complaints or caveats appear in the available reviews.

This suits travellers looking to combine a stay in Siem Reap with structured physical activity, whether that is a single drop-in class, a short course, or the longer 28-day retreat. It is less a conventional restaurant stop and more a training base with a cafe attached, so visitors coming purely for a meal should expect the food to be secondary to the martial arts and yoga programming. Opening hours run from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM Monday through Friday, with shorter hours on Saturday and Sunday, so it is worth checking the schedule for specific classes before turning up, particularly for popular sessions like the ice bath or Kun Khmer training.

Cafés & bakeries 592 m 7 min walk 4.7/5 on Google

Dialogue is 592 m north-west of Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel — about 7 minutes on foot. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “cafés & bakeries”.

The next two places under “cafés & bakeries” from Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel are The Bean Embassy Roastery & Specialty Coffee (325 m) and The muffin man, Siem Reap (633 m), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Dialogue is a cafe on Street 27 in Siem Reap with both indoor and rooftop seating. The menu mixes western and Asian cuisines, anchored by a strong coffee program. Visitors report the espresso and lattes are among the best in town. The kitchen turns out standout dishes like fried rice and tenderloins, though some guests found other items unremarkable. Breakfast options include variations on eggs — one visitor had English muffin with poached eggs, hollandaise and bacon — though the cafe does not offer a full traditional English breakfast.

Staff are consistently praised as helpful and friendly, though there is a notable caveat. One guest mentioned that despite requesting it multiple times, their dishes arrived with bean sprouts despite a stated allergy, which raised concern for anyone with dietary restrictions or allergies. The kitchen's attention to special requests appears inconsistent. On the upside, visitors note the carbonara is rich and satisfying if you enjoy heavy sauces, though it may not suit lighter preferences.

The rooftop setting is described as chill and atmospheric, with indoor seating available too. Dialogue opens daily at 7 AM and stays open until midnight (closed Sundays), making it accessible for breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch or evening visits. Happy hour pricing makes it affordable. The location sits walking distance from Pub Street, though the daytime frontage can be hard to spot from the street — it sits on the corner of Street 26 and Wat Bo Road. This works well for anyone after reliable coffee and a casual meal, though diners with food allergies should verify orders carefully with staff.

A café on Wat Bo Road offering a wide selection of muffins, cakes and cheesecakes alongside a proper breakfast and lunch menu that includes salads, toasties and vegetable-based dishes. Coffee is made in an Australian style, and matcha and other drinks are also on offer. The interior is described as modern and calm, suited to sitting in for a while rather than a quick takeaway stop.

Visitors consistently mention the quality and freshness of the baked goods, with muffins, brownies and cheesecakes coming up again and again as standouts, alongside savoury options like lentil salad, vegetable stacks and chickpea fritters that cater well to vegetarian and vegan diets. The coffee draws particular praise for its quality. Portion sizes are called generous and prices reasonable, and staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive. No notable complaints or caveats appear in the reviews, and several visitors mention returning multiple times during their stay.

Open daily from 7am to 10pm, it works equally well for an early breakfast, a working lunch or a dessert stop after dinner, as one visitor used it. The range of vegetarian and vegan dishes makes it a reliable option for travellers with dietary preferences, while the mix of light meals and pastries suits anyone wanting more than just coffee. Given its popularity, arriving outside peak breakfast or lunch hours may mean an easier time finding a seat.

Laundry Bar is 658 m north-west of Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel — about 8 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “bars”.

The next two places under “bars” from Ladear Angkor Boutique Hotel are Barcode Bar Siem Reap (829 m) and ASANA OLD WOODEN HOUSE Cocktail Bar (1.1 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Laundry Bar is a casual bar on Street 26 in Siem Reap with pool tables, a counter serving craft beers and cocktails, and a simple food menu. The space has the feel of a neighbourhood drinking spot rather than a tourist venue, though it draws visitors from across the world. It opens from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily and is known particularly for Wednesday nights, when open-mic performances bring live music to the bar.

Visitors consistently praise the social atmosphere and the mix of people you can meet there—solo travellers often mention it as an easy place to strike up conversations with expats and locals. Pool games are a draw, and those who attend Wednesday's open-mic night tend to be enthusiastic about the music and talent on display. Reviewers highlight the craft beer selection and cocktail quality. One note: some visitors report limited drink variety and have found the venue's responsiveness to orders inconsistent on quieter nights. Non-drinkers may find the mocktail selection thin.

The bar suits anyone looking for a low-key evening with other travellers and a chance to play pool or listen to live music. Wednesday is the night to go if you want a fuller room and live performances. Arrive after 4 p.m. It works best if you're prepared to order drinks readily and engage with the crowd; it is less ideal if you prefer a quieter table experience or need a wide range of non-alcoholic options.
