The best thing about this hotel is that it’s tucked away at the end of Long Set Beach so it’s really quiet down there. Contrary to Google maps you can actually walk there from the pier along the beach - this takes roughly 15/20 minutes. The view of the beach is beautiful from the rooms and restaurant. We felt the food at the restaurant was average at best and quite highly priced, especially considering the standard and comparing it to other restaurants on the island. During our stay we did request to change our room, as we thought we could hear rats in the walls of our room. This was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the hotel staff, although I don’t know if they ever looked into the issue. Finally, although the view from the pool is stunning, we did not feel like it was very clean. This did put us off going in, however it did not deter other guests.

We had a wonderful stay at Koh Rong Hill Beach Resort. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We stayed in a garden view room, which was peaceful and pleasant, but pool view rooms are also available. One of the highlights of this property is the large swimming pool overlooking the beach, which is perfect for relaxing. The pool also has a food and bar counter, which makes it very convenient to grab drinks or snacks while enjoying the view. The resort has its own private pier, which is very useful. If you are coming by ferry, make sure to check whether your ferry stops at the resort’s pier. Otherwise, you may need to take a tuk-tuk (around $5) or walk along the beach to reach the hotel. The walk is manageable, but it can be a bit tricky with luggage because of the sand. Breakfast was good and had a decent variety including fruits, bread, coffee, sweets, a live egg counter, sausages, potatoes, and some Khmer dishes. The water on this side of the island is very clear because it is less crowded and less polluted compared to other areas. Since the resort has a private pier, you can walk along it, take beautiful photos, and even feed the fish. We actually enjoyed feeding the fish every morning while having breakfast. Another nice touch is the live BBQ counters in the evening, similar to other restaurants along the beach. I recently had the pleasure of spending four unforgettable nights at Koh Rong Hill Beach Resort on Koh Rong Island, and it was truly a dream escape. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning ocean views and the serene atmosphere. The resort’s location is perfect — perched on a hillside with breathtaking vistas of the turquoise sea. The ocean view rooms offered panoramic sights that made every morning feel like a postcard. Waking up to the sound of gentle waves and overlooking the endless horizon was absolutely rejuvenating. One of the highlights was the resort’s own private pier, which made it incredibly easy to access boat trips and excursions around the island. It added a touch of exclusivity and convenience that enhanced the overall experience. The accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained, with modern amenities and a relaxing ambiance. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist and ensure a pleasant stay. Whether relaxing on the balcony, exploring the pristine beaches, or enjoying fresh seafood at the on-site restaurant, every moment was perfect. Koh Rong Island is a true tropical paradise, and Koh Rong Hill Beach Resort is the ideal place to experience its beauty. Had an amazing stay at Koh Rong Hill Beach Resort! Beautiful location, peaceful atmosphere, and breathtaking sea views. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and cozy. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Would definitely come back!

I want to share my terrible experience at this resort to warn others. Regarding drinks, although cases of beer sell for about 15 dollars in Cambodia, they charge a 10 dollar fee for each case brought in. Ice is provided, but obtaining it is very limited and difficult, causing great frustration. Food brought in is charged as follows: 10 dollars per kilogram for raw food that needs preparation, and 5 dollars per kilogram for pre-cooked food. Additionally, regardless of whether you bring your own food or consume their dishes in the resort's grounds, they impose a mandatory 7 dollar fee per person. The culmination of this was the incident on our departure day. Although we scheduled for 10 am, they failed to notify the boat service, causing the group of nearly 30 people to wait until 12 pm, which caused us to miss our flight. We were also required to pay 100 dollars for a boat, and it remains unclear whether the resort actually contributed half of this amount, as they claimed.
