We were very disappointed with our stay. The guests in the room/party area were being extremely loud. We sent the resort a message asking them to help: "Hi, could you please ask your clients in the party area to lower their sound? It's almost 11:00 PM and the noise is so loud that we can't sleep. We would really appreciate your assistance.Thank you!" Unfortunately, we received no response at all. The noise continued until around 1:00 AM, making it impossible for us to sleep. Since the resort did not respond or take any action, we had to ask the guests ourselves to lower the noise. It was impossible for us to rest, and it was very disappointing that the resort did not respond or take any action to address the disturbance. A resort should ensure guests can enjoy a peaceful night's rest and should respond promptly to complaints like this. Sadly, that did not happen during our stay.

This place is full of potential. The location is great. The rooms are ok. Bedding is hard. Pillows terrible. The worst part was that the place is let out to local Khmer teenagers for overnight stays - they sit up all night listening to blaring music, drinking, yelling and screaming and leave a mess behind. The owners do nothing. This could be a great little get away but it’s ruined by local kids being allowed to run riot. Certainly not worth the price tag they’re asking. We wont be back.

I think this is a great place to stay if you want to feel like you’re not alone or want to have people around. We were two girls on vacations so staying there made us feel safe. People were drinking and eating at the comment area and on the patio at the river. It’s very lively. The room was okay and the view of the river was really beautiful. The common area was a bit messy since many people were drinking there during evening and night. Great location and staff were nice. If you like a quiet hotel, I wouldn’t say this is the hotel for you.

សម្លេងធុងបាស់រំខានខ្លាំង! If you want a room filled with loud music that won't let you sleep, this is it. This place allows guests to play loud music until 10:30 PM, so if you want to relax, I don't recommend coming here. Also, they don't have any measures against guests playing loud music after 10:30 PM. At 10:33 PM, room 107 was still playing music. I called the owner 3 times but no one answered the phone. Finally, I went to the room and asked them to turn off the music themselves. Besides, the bathroom had a bad smell. And the rooms were too close together, so the smell of cigarettes came into my room. I came to relax for the weekend, not come for survival.

The property offers a tranquil atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing by the Kampot River. While the room was comfortable and reasonably priced, I found the space to be a bit more compact than expected.

Farm Link

Sights 661 m 8 min walk 4.4/5 on Google

Farm Link is 661 m south-east of Kampot River Bungalow — about 8 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Kampot River Bungalow are Krong Kampot (1.7 km) and Seahorse Statue (2.0 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Farm Link is a working pepper cooperative and educational space in central Kampot that showcases the production of the region's famous pepper. Visitors tour a small processing facility and farm plot where staff demonstrate how black, red, and white pepper are sorted, dried, and prepared. The cooperative collects harvests from dozens of local small farmers. You can handle and taste different pepper varieties alongside other products the group produces, including long pepper, vanilla, salt, and sugar.

Staff consistently earn praise for their knowledge and friendliness, patiently explaining the labour-intensive processes behind each pepper type and answering questions in French and English. Visitors repeatedly mention the value proposition: Kampot pepper costs notably less here than at local markets, and staff will guide you through the tasting and selection process without pressure. The cooperative model itself appeals to those interested in supporting local farming directly. A minor note appears in one review about impulse buying—the prices and variety apparently make it easy to leave with more than planned.

The site operates mornings and early afternoons, closed around midday. Plan for a 30 to 45-minute visit. It suits anyone with interest in how local products are made, those seeking authentic souvenirs at reasonable prices, and travellers wanting context on Kampot's agricultural identity. The hands-on elements—smelling, tasting, watching manual sorting—make it accessible to most visitors regardless of expertise. Allow time before a midday closure if you're visiting in the morning slot.

BaZaar Café & Healing Space

Restaurants 731 m 9 min walk 4.9/5 on Google

BaZaar Café & Healing Space is 731 m north-east of Kampot River Bungalow — about 9 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Kampot River Bungalow are Laundry Cafe Burger Bar (1.7 km) and Greenhouse ( restaurant & coffee ) (1.7 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Tucked away in Kampot, this café pairs homemade, health-oriented food with a garden setting at the back, complete with hammocks. The signature order across visits is the Buddha bowl, alongside kefir, mango lassi, tonics, and a chocolate cookie that regulars keep coming back for. Beyond food, the space leans into its "healing" name with offerings like tarot readings, and the overall feel is artistic and calm rather than a quick-stop café.

Guests are consistently enthusiastic about the food quality, describing it as fresh, clearly homemade, and flavourful, with the Buddha bowl mentioned again and again as the reason to visit. The garden seating and hammocks come up repeatedly as a highlight, giving the place a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere that some visitors returned to daily. The one practical gripe is the lack of air conditioning, noticeable on hot days since the space is open-air. Prices are described as higher than typical local spots, though reviewers who mention this generally feel the quality justifies it, and cash-only payment has been noted as well.

This suits travellers looking for a slower, more contemplative meal rather than a fast bite, and it works well for an afternoon of tea and cake as much as a full meal. It is open daily except Sunday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, so it is not an evening dinner option. Given the open-air setup, arriving earlier in the day or in cooler weather may be more comfortable. Bring cash, and if the garden and hammocks are part of the appeal, allow enough time to actually sit and stay rather than just eat and go.

Visitors appreciate that there is no entrance fee, with support coming through purchasing drinks or merchandise. A few reviewers noted they returned multiple times during their stay, suggesting the experience holds up to repeat visits.

Guests consistently praise the friendliness of staff and describe receiving respectful treatment during their visits. The management and female staff members draw particular mention for attentiveness. Some visitors highlight the VIP treatment available to clients. One reservation worth noting: the cashier service has been flagged as disorganized by at least one visitor, though this does not reflect the broader feedback about the venue's hospitality.

The bar is open every day of the week without closing time, making it accessible at any hour. It sits on NR3 highway in Kampot town. The venue appears to suit groups looking for private karaoke sessions and those seeking a social environment with attentive service, though those sensitive to administrative efficiency at the payment stage may want to mentally prepare for a slower checkout.

The other place under “markets” within reach of Kampot River Bungalow is Kampot Night Market (1.6 km).

Samaki Market is Kampot's main general market, occupying a central location where locals shop for everyday supplies. The stalls spread across the space with distinct sections: fresh produce including tropical fruits like mangosteen, sugar apple, and salak; seafood and meat counters; clothing and textiles; jewelry; and toys. Beyond retail, the market also houses practical services—hair salons, key cutting, and shoe and clothing repair shops. The atmosphere is authentically local rather than tourist-oriented, with vendors setting up from early morning and the space growing busy with tuk tuks and motorbikes.

Visitors consistently praise the market's range and authenticity, noting that you can find nearly everything in one place at local prices. The produce section draws particular attention, especially the fresh tropical fruits available at the north-side kiosks; seafood like crab is noted at around 3-4 USD per kilogram, with cooking services available for 1-3 USD. The main criticism visitors mention is limited parking, which can be frustrating during peak hours. Several reviewers note that the best time to shop is early morning, around 5am after vendors set up, both for the best selection and to avoid produce that has been sitting out.

The market operates daily from 7am to 5pm. It suits visitors looking to shop like locals, eat inexpensively, or source ingredients for self-catering. Early morning is essential if you want the freshest pick and easier navigation, though expect crowded conditions with vehicular traffic during those peak hours. This is a working market for locals first, so it rewards those who arrive prepared and early.

Blend House Cafè & Zen House Yoga sits down a small alleyway off the riverfront road in Kampot, combining a café with a yoga studio upstairs. The daily menu runs to bagels made fresh in house, smoothie bowls, and coffee, with both indoor and outdoor seating for those who want to linger over breakfast or a midday coffee.

Visitors consistently mention the calm, welcoming atmosphere and the attentiveness of the staff, often naming the owners Chris and Ali directly for their warmth. The smoked salmon bagel, smashed avo bagel, and protein smoothie bowl come up repeatedly as favourites, alongside praise for the coffee and flat white. Several guests who joined the yoga classes describe them as genuinely grounding, and the combined Backpacker Package of a class plus food is mentioned as good value. Oat milk availability is called out as a welcome plus for those who need it. No complaints or caveats surface in the reviews, though more than one visitor admits to returning day after day, which suggests the appeal holds up beyond a single visit.

The café opens at 8am and closes at 3pm every day except Thursday, when it is shut, so this is a breakfast-and-lunch spot rather than an evening one. It suits travellers looking for a quiet break from Kampot's busier bar streets, and is worth building a morning around if you want to try a yoga class before or after eating, since sessions run upstairs on a daily basis. Given the alleyway location, it helps to know roughly where you are heading rather than expecting it to be visible from the main road.
