Good to know
Dinner is served a couple of times per week; check in advance for dates. The guesthouse can assist with information about local events and groups on the island. Vegan and gluten-free options are catered for.
We had a clean, comfortable room with everything we needed. The shared bathrooms were clean and ample for our needs. The property had access to a beautiful sea view on the rocks where we could sit and watch the sun set. We enjoyed delicious vegan meals that our lovely host, Tasha, cooked for us in the evenings while enjoying the view, or chatting to Tasha and the other guests, which was priceless. Tasha was so thoughtful and attentive and made our stay more than comfortable. My daughter and I highly recommend staying here.
I had a wonderful stay here with my family .The 2 hostesses Tasha and Kristin couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming.. The location was amazing with bar views overlooking the sea was something else .Tasha made the most amazing vegan curry with partha's while we were there too. Great guesthouse and great vibes . Will definitely go back .
I’ve stayed at Dragonfly for about a month and absolutely loved it.
The dorm is comfortable and quiet.
A bit off the beach but still super close to everything, just less sandy.
The view and cliff access from the garden are great additions.
I always felt welcomed, and everyone who works there was super nice and had great advice about the island.
The bar is also well equipped and serves great cocktails. They also offer dinner a couple of times a week — I had it a few times and it was excellent. It’s worth checking in advance when they’re planning to cook.
They also helped me with a visa extension, which was very helpful for my trip.
Can only recommend it to anyone coming to Mpai.
Loved our stay at dragonfly! The staff and owners are fab. The space is stunning and the hangout spaces in the garden are perfect for relaxing with a great view of sunset in the evening and even access down to the water for a quick dip or amazing snorkelling spot in the day! Highly recommend their signature cocktail, and an evening or two at the bar for the friendly atmosphere and good chats with locals and other tourists. Thank you for a brilliant time!
We stayed in the private room with ensuite for 4 nights. So nice that the room was colourful and had hand painted artwork on the walls. Kirsten and Tasha were so friendly and welcoming on arrival and sat and had a drink with them. They gave us the details for the local groups and events for M'Pai bay and answered all our questions with ease. The room was well thought out and very clean. Nice to have so much hanging space and hooks which is something we didn't realise we have been missing on our travels. Some lovely snorkelling immediately off the bar area. We stayed for food on one of the nights and had dhal and chana curry and it was incredible. Paratha flatbreads were some of the best ive ever had. Only improvement I have would be if the room had air-conditioning, but this wasn't a must-have for us and the fan was good with the windows open of an evening. Again, Kirsten provided the mosquito incesnce spirals for us too. Would 100% stay again, sad to be leaving the island. Could easily stay here for at least an extra week. Thanks very much ✌️✨
