Quite an isolated place through a small lane up the slope passing several brothels (I think mostly Vietnamese). The lady at the reception don't speak English much but surprisingly one of the chamber maid can and she's so caring and thoughtful. Actually after I checked in I found the air-conditioning not cooling at all but luckily their is a ceiling fan which is good enough. However on my 3rd day she came to know of the problem and immediately summon serviceman for it. She even offered to change room but I declined as all my stuff are already unpacked. Finally she got outside maintenance and got the aircon fixed and it's super cold now (I have guessed it just need to fill with the Feon gas). Besides this, the room and place is quiet and the Guesthouse is quiet and good to relax. The room is big enough and twin beds are large ones with clean bedsheets, pillow cases and bath towels. Water pressure is good and the Guesthouse and area around is safe. Hardly any eateries around the 300m walking distance but there's just one small eatery about 10m selling noodles which is very tasty. There's a big market, around 600m that sells almost everything. Lots of small stalls and vendors and even the inner central section selling small food at low prices. Overall the Guesthouse is decent enough to stay safe and rest well (bottled drinks are given daily and generous with new towels too) and it's probably the best value for your money accommodation that is on the agoda.com.

Most lazy 😞👎 workers I experienced especially in Cambodia. I stayed two nights and it was a different experience. My room was not clean or bed made when I got back from eating out and shopping. No new towels and I had to ask for the bottle water that was free. I ask if there is hot water because I wanted to drink some coffee in the morning. The ladies responded there should be an electric water kettle in your room. I said "Oh I didn't see one, I will look again." Well that's when I said I will stay another night paid and went to shop, drink coffee and eat. Well this is where I am so upset that I will never come here again. I asked the man who works nights, ol lazy useless just here for the pay kinda guy. He is covering for my man who got into an accident. Said sir where can we get some hot water. He said same thing the ladies said. So I responded there isn't one. U know what he said. You should have asked the ladies because it's not my responsibility. At first I wasn't upset until I was getting really hungry. Then I realized every room has a coffee pot. And he has the keys cause he is the night guy. So he could easily have gotten it for me. That's the guy. Does nothing but sits in his chair. Just yelled at a customer or one of the workers for misplacing a ke

Lovely people and great rooms for an excellent price. Accidentally discovered it was halfway up a street in the red light district. However, this didn’t present a problem as no one hassled me at any time.

Stayed for over a week span. Look, the guesthouse is on a prostitution street. Its noisy throughout the night. The neighbors are also loud and arrogant type, as well as the police being the neighbors of the guesthouse. Due to that I did not bring any guests back because I was constantly being looked at everytime I entered in. Half of the staff is great, though beware ms. Smiley... who can't stop laughing and smiling and is unable to communicate even on translate and be down to earth with you. People smoke and ignore the no smoking signs. It's a nice place but truely... IN THE WORST LOCATION. It's good for a one night two night stop over sure. Though the hotel school is a bit better all around. I think they should find a place to relocate at. It's just a horrible spot to bring tourists in and out. Lots of peddlers with megaphones constantly looping that wont shut up. I'm not a complaining type but would like to leave some honest experience here for those that it could apply to. Peace

I don't know what other people were complaining about. My room was very clean, yes, a little smell of air freshener or something. Bathroom light and spotless. This is not a 5 star hotel and for the money you pay it's absolutely fabulous. Walking distance from Bus terminal, shops and everything Nice and helpful staff

Blue cafe

Cafés & bakeries 127.8 km 4.2/5 on Google

Blue cafe is 127.8 km north of Don Bosco Guesthouse — a short ride rather than a walk.

Blue cafe is a small restaurant located in Choam, Chi Phat, offering casual dining in a modest setting. It serves as a neighbourhood spot where locals gather, and the menu is reasonably priced. The compact size means it maintains an intimate, unpretentious atmosphere rather than catering to large groups or formal occasions.

Visitors consistently describe the place as straightforward and good value. Reviewers mention that it caters well to local tastes and habits, with pricing that won't strain a budget. The feedback is generally positive though expressed in measured terms rather than enthusiastic praise — most comments fall in the "ok" to "good" range, suggesting it delivers what you'd expect from a neighbourhood cafe without particular surprises.

This is the kind of place to visit if you're comfortable with simple, casual dining and want to eat where local people do. Given its size, it works better for individuals or small groups than large parties. There's no information about opening hours or specific menu items, so it's worth asking locals for current details when you arrive in Chi Phat, particularly if you have dietary requirements or are visiting during off-peak times.
