Dolphin bay restaurant: A hidden gem on Saracen Bay!
Don't let the rickety-looking wooden bridge at the start of the path put you off: keep going, it is absolutely worth the trip!
This is hands down the best value for money on the island. The food is excellent, ultra-fresh, and everything is homemade. My kids absolutely loved the homemade chicken nuggets, which were delicious. As for the drinks, the shakes are great, but their Pina Colada... it’s simply the best on the entire island, no exaggeration!
The atmosphere is incredibly 'chill' and peaceful. You can enjoy your meal with your feet in the sand, facing one of the most beautiful views of the bay, complete with a cozy bonfire. The staff is lovely… special shout out to Tom for the warm welcome! They even provide incense sticks to keep the mosquitoes away.
The kids had a blast seeing the gang of adorable puppy dogs running around, and a huge plus for parents: the lovely and incredibly friendly Pauley, who managed to get all the kids playing together. It made for such a relaxing and happy experience for everyone. Definitely go check it out!
Stopped for a beer, looked a really cool place.
Saw a sign on the way in (see pic) advertising a happy hour 4-9pm for $1 a beer.
When we asked if they had draft (as it usually is on the island for HH) we got told no, but they have cans, so we ordered 3 Angkor cans.
Lovely place. Good music. Fire pit and chilled.
Sadly when we went to pay the bill, we were told it was $1.50 a beer... On querying this, apparently the HH price is for bottles of Chang (Yes Thai beer) and our smaller local beer was $1.50... and agreed the signage was misleading!
Shame as we planned to go back for sunset cocktails and food, won't bother now.. the little English guy has lost customers
I stayed here for 3 days and it was the most amazing experience of my life. The place is at the best spot, right on the beach. The people are amazing, food is great. All you need to do is relax and sip cocktails.
People saying it's not much are the kind of people who should just go to overpriced fancy resorts. Don't expect to pay 20$ a night and complain about how basic it is. That's the whole point of this place. To be basic and be in nature
Only visited once and that was enough, over charged for beers and when we queried they just shrugged their shoulders and said that price is for a beer we didn't get offered.
Obviously weren't bothered about getting new customers or making amends as they just kinda laughed. Bad vibes.
We were staying in a resort nearby but kept coming back here. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious ( I recommend the onion rings and the ginger limonade ). The staff is the most adorable Khmer family on the island. An amazing vibe overall with a beautiful and relaxing view.
