The next two places under “sights” from Devi Kampot Resort are Farm Link (3.4 km) and Krong Kampot (3.9 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Green Cathedral is a riverside kayaking spot in Kampot where visitors paddle through narrow waterways lined with dense vegetation. The experience centres around renting kayaks from a local operator and exploring the calm river channels at a leisurely pace. Several nearby hotels also arrange rentals for around 5 dollars per two hours.

Visitors consistently praise the tranquility of paddling through the green surroundings and the friendliness of the kayak operator, who guests describe as welcoming and knowledgeable. Many mention that he offers homegrown fruit to visitors and shares details about his garden. The atmosphere on the water is generally calm and meditative. However, plastic pollution is a recurring complaint. Multiple visitors note significant amounts of trash and debris floating in the water, which some found difficult to overlook despite the natural beauty. One visitor decided against swimming due to water quality concerns. Opinions differ on the extent of the problem—some saw rubbish only in patches, while others felt it dominated the experience.

Go in the early morning or late afternoon for the best light and smallest crowds. The kayaking works for anyone seeking a slow-paced nature activity, including those who prefer to stay on land, as the operator is accommodating to non-paddlers. Bear in mind that water cleanliness varies; if you are hoping to swim, ask locally about current conditions before committing. The river is genuinely shallow and safe for paddling, making this suitable for first-time kayakers and families with older children.

The bar operates from a riverside location where guests can spend time with the animals, and the owner offers boat cruises down the river at sunset as part of the experience.

What makes the place distinctive is the genuine care visitors observe in how the dogs are treated. Guests consistently mention the owner's deep commitment to animal welfare and the dogs' visible contentment and friendliness. The staff are described as kind and knowledgeable about dog behaviour and rehabilitation. Visitors appreciate that there is no entrance fee, with support coming through purchasing drinks or merchandise. A few reviewers noted they returned multiple times during their stay, suggesting the experience holds up to repeat visits.

The bar is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, making it accessible for morning visits with the dogs or for sunset river cruises. BaZaar Café & Healing Space is 2.4 km south of Devi Kampot Resort — about 30 minutes on foot. It is the closest place to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Devi Kampot Resort are Sabay Beach Restaurant & Cocktail Bar Kampot (3.3 km) and Greenhouse ( restaurant & coffee ) (4.0 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Tucked away in Kampot, this café pairs homemade, health-oriented food with a garden setting at the back, complete with hammocks. The signature order across visits is the Buddha bowl, alongside kefir, mango lassi, tonics, and a chocolate cookie that regulars keep coming back for. Beyond food, the space leans into its "healing" name with offerings like tarot readings, and the overall feel is artistic and calm rather than a quick-stop café.

Guests are consistently enthusiastic about the food quality, describing it as fresh, clearly homemade, and flavourful, with the Buddha bowl mentioned again and again as the reason to visit. The garden seating and hammocks come up repeatedly as a highlight, giving the place a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere that some visitors returned to daily. The one practical gripe is the lack of air conditioning, noticeable on hot days since the space is open-air. Prices are described as higher than typical local spots, though reviewers who mention this generally feel the quality justifies it, and cash-only payment has been noted as well.

This suits travellers looking for a slower, more contemplative meal rather than a fast bite, and it works well for an afternoon of tea and cake as much as a full meal. It is open daily except Sunday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, so it is not an evening dinner option. Given the open-air setup, arriving earlier in the day or in cooler weather may be more comfortable. Bring cash, and if the garden and hammocks are part of the appeal, allow enough time to actually sit and stay rather than just eat and go.

Sabay Beach Restaurant & Cocktail Bar Kampot is 3.3 km north of Devi Kampot Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “restaurants”.

The next two places under “restaurants” from Devi Kampot Resort are BaZaar Café & Healing Space (2.4 km) and Greenhouse ( restaurant & coffee ) (4.0 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Set right on Riverside Road in Kampot, Sabay Beach Restaurant & Cocktail Bar occupies a spot facing the river with mountain views and a front-row seat to the sunset. The menu spans breakfast through dinner, mixing Khmer dishes like lok lak and vegetable curry with international plates and cocktails, and the space is split between a downstairs area right on the water and upstairs seating for meals. A few resident cats, including kittens at times, wander the grounds.

Visitors repeatedly single out the food quality and consistency, with the chocolate fondant and duck spring rolls mentioned by name as standouts, alongside dishes like the Healthy Hippie breakfast bowl and the coconut-based Khmer curry. Cocktails, particularly the honey crush, and a well-regarded wine list come up often, and portions, including a generous fruit dessert, are described as generous. Service is consistently called attentive and friendly. The one dissenting note concerns the scallops, described as underwhelming next to the rest of the menu, and a couple of reviewers flag that prices sit above average for Kampot, though they felt the quality backed it up.

This is a place best timed around sunset, when the riverside and mountain views are at their best, whether for a cocktail downstairs or a full dinner upstairs. It opens early enough for breakfast and runs through to 10 PM daily except Sunday, when hours are unspecified, so it is worth checking ahead if planning a Sunday visit. It suits couples looking for a date-night setting, travellers wanting a relaxed riverside meal, and anyone happy to pay a bit more for cocktails and Khmer-international dishes done well.

Nibi Spa is 3.3 km north-west of Devi Kampot Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “spa & wellness”.

The next two places under “spa & wellness” from Devi Kampot Resort are Bali Massage Kampot (4.1 km) and Golden Hands Massage & Spa (4.2 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Set beside the river just outside town, Nibi Spa combines massage huts with a steam room, dry sauna and a cold plunge pool, along with a café serving food and drinks. Guests can book a massage in a private hut or simply pay a small entry fee, around five dollars, to use the sauna, steam room and plunge pool for an afternoon. A swim in the river is part of the experience for many visitors, and the grounds themselves, overlooking the water, are as much a draw as the treatments.

Reviews are consistently positive and mention the same things: massages rated among the best guests have had anywhere in Cambodia, a calm and unhurried atmosphere, and staff and owners described as friendly, helpful and professional. Several visitors came after hearing about the place from others and found it matched or exceeded expectations. The food, especially the prawn curry, gets specific praise, and more than one reviewer mentions returning or planning to. No recurring complaints appear in the feedback.

It suits travellers who want to slow down for a few hours rather than tick off a quick treatment, and it works well as a half-day outing from Kampot, particularly in the afternoon when the sauna-and-pool package is available and the light over the river turns golden toward evening. It is closed on Mondays and open from 10am to 7pm the rest of the week. Getting there typically means a short tuk tuk ride out of town, and given the setting and the range of things to do on site, from massage to sauna to a swim, it is worth allowing more time than a single treatment would normally take.

Samaki Market is 3.3 km south of Devi Kampot Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is the closest place to the hotel under “markets”.

The other place under “markets” within reach of Devi Kampot Resort is Kampot Night Market (3.8 km).

Samaki Market is Kampot's main general market, occupying a central location where locals shop for everyday supplies. The stalls spread across the space with distinct sections: fresh produce including tropical fruits like mangosteen, sugar apple, and salak; seafood and meat counters; clothing and textiles; jewelry; and toys. Beyond retail, the market also houses practical services—hair salons, key cutting, and shoe and clothing repair shops. The atmosphere is authentically local rather than tourist-oriented, with vendors setting up from early morning and the space growing busy with tuk tuks and motorbikes.

Visitors consistently praise the market's range and authenticity, noting that you can find nearly everything in one place at local prices. The produce section draws particular attention, especially the fresh tropical fruits available at the north-side kiosks; seafood like crab is noted at around 3-4 USD per kilogram, with cooking services available for 1-3 USD. The main criticism visitors mention is limited parking, which can be frustrating during peak hours. Several reviewers note that the best time to shop is early morning, around 5am after vendors set up, both for the best selection and to avoid produce that has been sitting out.

The market operates daily from 7am to 5pm. It suits visitors looking to shop like locals, eat inexpensively, or source ingredients for self-catering. Early morning is essential if you want the freshest pick and easier navigation, though expect crowded conditions with vehicular traffic during those peak hours. This is a working market for locals first, so it rewards those who arrive prepared and early.

Farm Link is 3.4 km south of Devi Kampot Resort — a short ride rather than a walk. It is among the three closest places to the hotel under “sights”.

The next two places under “sights” from Devi Kampot Resort are Green Cathedral (1.4 km) and Krong Kampot (3.9 km), so there is a choice within a few minutes.

Farm Link is a working pepper cooperative and educational space in central Kampot that showcases the production of the region's famous pepper. Visitors tour a small processing facility and farm plot where staff demonstrate how black, red, and white pepper are sorted, dried, and prepared. The cooperative collects harvests from dozens of local small farmers. You can handle and taste different pepper varieties alongside other products the group produces, including long pepper, vanilla, salt, and sugar.

Staff consistently earn praise for their knowledge and friendliness, patiently explaining the labour-intensive processes behind each pepper type and answering questions in French and English. Visitors repeatedly mention the value proposition: Kampot pepper costs notably less here than at local markets, and staff will guide you through the tasting and selection process without pressure. The cooperative model itself appeals to those interested in supporting local farming directly. A minor note appears in one review about impulse buying—the prices and variety apparently make it easy to leave with more than planned.

The site operates mornings and early afternoons, closed around midday. Plan for a 30 to 45-minute visit. It suits anyone with interest in how local products are made, those seeking authentic souvenirs at reasonable prices, and travellers wanting context on Kampot's agricultural identity. The hands-on elements—smelling, tasting, watching manual sorting—make it accessible to most visitors regardless of expertise. Allow time before a midday closure if you're visiting in the morning slot.
